1) I don't know your budget but I always stay at the Renaissance. Super girl friendly. Approx 40 minutes to Scandello and GG and about 10 minutes to Casarao.

Confirming the question about the 500 BRL pricing at Gauguin Club: **Yes, 500 BRL an hour is absolutely accepted by the garotasas well as 600 BRL and 800 BRL. I have personally documented paying each of those rates when offered by slim, blonde *branca* garotas.

Unless you are trying to minimize the paper trail for one reason or another, you'll get the best rates withdrawing it locally with a debit card. The quick math from my last ATM visit:

USD to BRL was 5. 06.

I withdrew 2000 R, +20 ATM fee.

$399.45 debited from my account.

That works out to 5. 057, so there's no way anywhere else is going to match that. Even if you factor the Brazilian bank's fee in, that works out to about 5. 01. Again I don't see any cambio beating that.

I've always had a good time at Scandallo, including on Saturday nights that I would not characterize as being "slow". The place was packed! Live band. Just rocking! I even went on a Monday night once and it was better than I thought it would be (but not nearly as good as Thursday through Saturday). Go to any of the clubs during the Thursday through Saturday timeframe for a shot at the best crowds and energy. Yep, I have been on Friday and it was good then too. In my view, the closer to the weekend the better (but Sunday is not an option). Guys who keep saying Saturdays at Scandallo are no good I have no clue what they're talking about. Tues-Thurs are the best nights at Scan. Saturday is pretty slow at all boates so you can try the other ones. That is what I usually do. Hit up Ganguin on Friday and usually reserve Saturday and Sunday nights for repeat dates.

I always bring cash to exchange since you will get a better rate in Brasil vs your bank. If you are staying in Jardin Paulista, this is where I exchange my money and they always give a very good rate. Bring only $100 new blue bills.
