Well there are a lot of Russian / EE women working in strip clubs & escort services in Canada & US and in FFKs in Germany.

I have used this method with some (but mixed) success. I've had some long term relationships and some one-night stands when travelling. One big breasted MILF who put out on the first date actually THANKED ME for sex. It had been many months for her! But if I was actually in the market for a real relationship (as opposed to extra-marital) I'm sure I could be VERY successful connecting with women from Mamba. Not as easy to score young girls, but lonely MILFs and single moms, definitely!
On the plus side, Russian women in the west are still very beautiful, sexual,"easy" (by American standards) and interested in having a relationship.
Plus you can approach younger ones, who may be here as students or on a language program or struggling to find jobs on limited visas, and propose sponsorship arrangements with them. I had a couple of really good prospects like this, but couldn't make the cost / benefit ratio work.
On the negative side, the "white god" factor goes WAY down, because they (probably) already have a visa and have access to lots of western men. So they don't "need" you in the same way the do back in Russia, if they are hoping to be "rescued". But then that also eliminates one of risks, they are not just interested in a visa or your money. Sure, they might be hoping to land you as a husband, and I know many would argue that is just to get at your money for alimony, but I don't think that is the case most of the time. These women just want to have a stable relationship with a good man.
Moreover, they are often receptive to someone who knows something about their country, culture, language and how to treat a Russian woman. With that MILF in mentioned in DC, I would probably not have pushed for sex on the first date if she had been an American woman, but with a Russian you keep your foot on the gas until you either crash & burn or "get home"!

There are several exchanges both inside and outside the mall. There's also a Torro Grill in side the mall where you can get a VERY decent steak! By the way, Richnoi Voksal is the end of the Green Metro Line which will get you to the center of Moscow for 26 rubles. As for the exchange question itself, I ALWAYS advise visitors to bring an ATM card. As long as your bank is on the INTERAC or PLUS system, you can easily get cash at the Bankomat for what I consider to be the most effective and hassle free rate.

Posts: 582Urgent info about good banks or kantors for currency exchange
Hi guys,
Currently I'm in Poland with zloty. Next month I'll come to Russia for a river cruise. I was wondering if it could be a good idea to come there with the zloties, instead of making 2 convertions, zloty- euro euro-ruble, I could make directly zloty-ruble. As of now I know the rate is about 10 zl= 98 rub. Can you tell me about a bank or a kantor in Moscow, possibly not too far from where the boats are, that gives a good exchange rate? I mean, if it's 98 and they give me 90 obviously it will not be good, but if it works the same with a change euro-ruble than it still would be a better option than going through 2 conversions. In a couple of days I'm going back home and I need to find out quickly. Unfortunately the cruise company seems uncapable to handle this request.
Thank you in advance.

Posts: 2379For a travel to Russia in last August, I used visahq com in USA. They will use consulate closest to where you live, in this case NYC. Mailed in passport and fee and in couple weeks, voila: tourist visa, not long-term. It would take less days for Russia alone, but I was also getting visa for another country. Was planning to do this next summer to stay one month.

Posts: 2306As a side note, and oddly enough, it is (for the moment and until this new law) much easier to travel to Uzbekistan, a so-called "closed" country, than to Russia.
I get my uzbek visa within three days, no invitation required, cost 50€.

Posts: 2306Paris. In fact, I went to a visa agency (which also sells the invitation, which is as you know required for any type of visa) , not directly to the consulate. Cost with fee, invitation and insurance is about 200 € for a one-month tourist visa. The most annoying is the delay. Some 15 opening days, at best, and without certitude that I will get it in time. Granted, they have an "emergency option" that costs an additional 100 €, but without being stingy, I find that 300 € for a one-month tourist visa is outrageous. Ticket to Ekaterinburg isn't cheap (700 €) and with the visa it's almost 1000 € just to arrive there. I compare it to a round-trip ticket to Kharkov that costs 300 € from Paris.

Since obtaining a visa is the first, and critical, step in anyone's trip to the motherland, I'm always interested to compare notes with anyone who has recently gone through the process.
Actually, there have been some impressive improvements in the Russian visa process. Putin signed into law a new visa process that will allow for a 3 year, multiple entry, tourist visa, with a 6 month stay. Here in the USA, Russian consulates are already implementing this new law.
Yes, it ain't cheap, and it may be more work up front, but the end result will be a big improvement. Once you have this new visa, you can come and go as you please for 3 years.
Can you tell us the country where you applied for the visa? It could be the consulate where you applied just hasn't got the news yet.

Just come back from the visa agency for a sheduled trip to Ural beginning of January. Seems that the process for a Russian visa is more and more difficult and long. Three weeks, at best, for a simple tourism visa.
It is astounding that Russian consulates are overdoing the formalities and that there is such delays in issuing visas, considering that the inbound tourism in Russia in steeply declining (minus 25% in 2011 from what I have read). Seems that the future of tourism in Russia does not interest the authorities.
All this shit is a huge turn-off. My flight reservation has already falled apart, as my apartment reservation.
