I've stayed at Ambassador several times, which totaled about 25 nights. I don't like it, but my buddy does. There is always something wrong with the room, even the upper floor upgraded rooms in the tower. Something different each time. Uncomfortable bed. Moldy shower head. Broken toilet paper holder. Safe needs battery replacement. Faucet drips. Missing bottles of the free drinking water (had plenty of the stuff you pay for). Carpet dirty. Hot pot doesn't work. They are always happy to fix the problem, but it is a pain in the ass to deal with it.

Breakfast staff is too small to accomadate the large crowds at peak times. Checkout time crowds can also be long.

If you can afford a little more money, I recommend you find a different hotel. Dream Bangkok on Soi 15 is about 20% more money and I've talked to people who are much happier there. I'll stay there next visit to BKK.
