Give the Kodak shop near Soi LengKee the shop down from the 7/11 and Cheap Charlie they have bunch of services for Farangs. In particular they can take your Passport the front picture and your latest entry stamp and shrink it to Credit Card size that is what I carry year-round.

I plan to apply for a 10-year visa. One requirement is the following: "clear passport-size photograph in business attire (t-shirt not allowed)". I assume what this means is at least a long-sleeve shirt and preferably a tie to boot. I have nothing like this in my belongings but I was told the photo studios catering to weddings etc. could help me out. The only shops I know are ones doing mugshots for visa extensions, certificates of residence and the like. Any idea as to a proper photo studio in Pattaya or Jomtien?

There use to be one at Royal Garden but I'm pretty sure it is gone. I run around a lot but not looking but I know they are around. At big see extra outside Fuji restaurant closer to restaurant Santa Fe, there is a table always pulling people I believe this is wedding shop people might want to ask them where their shop is but might just go upstairs to Big see, mens wear you can get a dress shirt long sleeves cheap tie for 500 baht? Surely a man of your means can afford it.

Soi 6 goes dark.

Yesterday around 7 pm, there seemed to be a power outage on Soi 6.

Saturday will be gloomy with clubs closed due to elections.

The same has been said about last Saturday. I've met a girl later, another day, that told me the bars were closed only from around 6 pm, but were open during the afternoon.

Il will probablement be the same this Saturday, so everybody can still go and join his favorite girl tomorrow afternoon.

BKK and Pattaya are both awesome in their own ways. Sample both and see which suits you.

What do you think the main differences are between Pattaya and Bangkok?

Yesterday around 7 pm, there seemed to be a power outage on Soi 6.

Coming in from Beach road, the first few bars and medical shops were operating with torch lights.

Girls were waiving them to draw attention.

Can't imagine how the upstairs rooms would operate without electricity yuk.

Some of the bars did seem to have generators.

For the budding entrepreneurs. UD bar Soi 6 is up for sale.

It says processing is easy as is under Thai Corporation and only owner and shareholders need to be swapped.

It almost seems like a bar names are coined by kindergarten kids.

Pattaya has much higher percentage of girls who are looking for customers and are also close enough to come to your central Pattaya hotel. In Bangkok, you need to sort out the large percentage of girls who are either looking for permanent relationships or geographically too far to come to your hotel for a ST session.

Probably not much difference on Thai Friendly. I would guess Bangkok has more girls looking for a serious relationship, but that is just guessing. The main difference between Pattaya and Bangkok now in my opinion is; A) Pattaya much cheaper than Bangkok. Double price for food and drink in Bangkok. B) Demografic: Buakaow area has western guys, mostly 50 plus. Walking street is full of people from India, Russia and some Chinese / Japanese. It is a totally divided city now, much more than 10 years ago. Bangkok has a lot younger crowd over all. C) Pattaya / Jomtien has the beach, sadly lacking in Bangkok. I don't like the new wider beach in Pattaya, but Jomtien beaches still good as before. It is nice to enjoy the sea breeze on a hot day. Bangkok has much more variety. For newbies; definately go to both places!
