My definition of barfine is how much you pay the bar to take a girl away. Hence the name bar fine (or bar find). The amount you pay the girl for her services is in addition to the bar fine. Is there a misinterpretation of BF here by the guys arguing? I don't pay barfines but am not aware of any gogo bar in Pattaya where you pay 2500 baht BF only. 7000 baht consisting of 2000 BF + 5000 LT to the girl is not uncommon.

When they bring the bill just say "scan" and they will bring you the QR code. I pay my rent the same way.

There are some bars where the cashiers use QR codes for payment of bar bills.

Never met a bargirl who had a QR code, but there are some I pay via transfer to their bank account.

I've met many girls that use it, they can generate their own QR code to show you for you to svcan and pay them, or even email the QR code to you.

Pretty soon you will be getting an Isaan girl messaging you to ask for 300 baht and making it easy by giving you her QR code to pay straight into.

Sounds great. I'm guessing 90% of my money transactions in Thailand go to girls, bars for drinks, restaurants that don't accept credit cards, and 711's. Unless the QR code thing works for any / all of the above I'm still going to need ATM withdrawals every few days.

My Bangkok Bank app says "Scan QR code / barcode".

Virtually all restaurants and bars accept it. Only exception is 7-11 which for some reason still don't accept it. Can only imagine that is some political thing.

Everyone else, from the coconut seller on the corner to the hospital accept it no problem.

The origin of the term "Bar Fine" I believe was an actual "fine" the girl had to pay the bar to leave early. It is to compensate the bar for drink sales etc that are lost because the girl left the bar before her shift ended. Technically, once the shift ends, they can go with you without the bar fine. Thank you once again for speaking clearly. I am not confused as I have been working exclusively on Thai Friendly the entire time I have been in Pattaya. I am not arguing with anyone. Individuals are commenting on the quality of the prostitutes I hire based on the price I am reporting. Sight unseen. I am putting them in check and giving them push back. They don't like it.
