The Cmdr offers his perprective on illogical arguments being made

Whoever says "because someone told me" is operating on heresay: A statement which a witness has heard another person say, or a written statement offered in evidence without producing the author to testify as to the issues stated. Presentation of one item of evidence that you did not witness for yourself is hearsay. To draw a conclusion from that evidence is to make the:

    The Hasty Generalization Fallacy

This fallacy occurs when someone draws expansive conclusions based on inadequate or insufficient evidence. It goes a little something like this: I have never heard from anyone (with whom I consider a reliable source) being stolen from by any type of prostitute in Thailand. Therefore it never happens. Am I the only one that realizes how ridiculous that sounds? The other side of the story is if some says "I never hear of girls (insert the type you wish here) stealing from guys therefore it never happens. ".

Those who are making expansive conclusions based on anecdotal evidence have made a logical fallacy in their argument. That makes what they are saying illogical. Now if they wish to take actions on those conclusions they are certainly within their right. But to insist that something is a fact when they KNOW it is just their opinion is wrong. Unfortunately they don't realize they are just giving their opinions. I don't care if they have been living here for 14 years or own 3 condos. It is still their opinion and the appeal to their own authority is just another logical fallacy.

I will not buy 40 LDs and drink with the prostitute I want to hire all night just to BBFS. LOL! Don't mean anyone else should do it or that I am better than anyone else that does that. I have never had a problem with any girl stealing from me yet and I have been traveling for 40 years. Therefore it simply does not happen.

One of the things I learned over the years is how to prepare so that you don't get got. The individuals who get stolen from are dumb mother fuckers who gave the thief and opportunity to steal from them. They take them back to their own room (dumb move). They goto a Short Time room with the girl and do not secure their things or take the shower together so that she does not leave out the his watchful eye.

That is one reason I do not do a threesome with girls I don't know. Perfect way to get ripped off! I do threesomes with girls I know in a natural place. Only bringing the items I need to bring with me. I keep a separate phone for when I am on the street that does not have my financial information on it. A "ho phone" for lack of a better word. Now if you are so important of a person that you cannot be out of touch with your "people" for an hour or two, then you are probably better off buying 40 LDs and paying outrageous amounts of money to fuck. Better safe than sorry. Yep, that type of person should not be on the street. Why? Because they are not street smart.

Beauty remains in the eyes of the beholder. Any girl is more attractive after drinking all night with her. LOL!

What is a Tax Resident in Thailand?

    1.Taxable Person

Taxpayers are classified into "resident" and "non-resident". "Resident" means any person residing in Thailand for a period or periods aggregating more than 180 days in any tax (calendar) year. A resident of Thailand is liable to pay tax on income from sources in Thailand as well as on the portion of income from foreign sources that is brought into Thailand. A non-resident is, however, subject to tax only on income from sources in Thailand.

    https://www.rd.go.th/english/6045.html

By definition, a tax resident in Thailand is a person, an individual who is present and resides one or multiple times in Thailand for a period totaling 180 days or more during a calendar year.

    https://www.herrera-partners.com/tax-residency/

Juries rule on the facts of a situation as it applies to the law. Judges rules on the law.

Countries With Double Taxation Treaties With Thailand?

    Pussy is Pussy

But to each their own. I can see the advantage of moving around. If the costs of moving around (plane tickets, temporary housing, my time) is less than paying taxes here in Thailand then I am off to BKK. I like Thailand (Pattaya) as a base. Best place I have ever lived! It offers me plenty of options. Since my life has never revolved around pussy, traveling the world in search it does not have much appeal. The girls in Pattaya are simply a bonus. I would never live in Bangkok just to have access to what some say are more attractive Thai girls. Why do that when I can just hop on a bus and travel there, fuck all I like and then come back to my superior lifestyle here?
I think the jury is still out on whether or not an expat or anyone else who resides in Thailand for more than 180 days in a tax year is considered a Thai "tax" resident rather than merely a Thai resident if their income comes from a country with a Double Taxation Treaty / Agreement with Thailand:

Thailands foreign income tax changes now in force.
    April 25, 2024

    https://www.internationaltaxreview.c...s-now-in-force

    Double taxation relief

Thailand has double tax agreements with over 60 jurisdictions, which can modify the tax treatment under the Revenue Code; e.g., by granting taxing rights to the other country only or allowing a credit for tax paid in the other country against the tax payable in Thailand. The credit will be granted if the foreign tax is paid in accordance with the provisions of the double tax agreement and will in general be limited to the Thai tax payable on the income.

Interestingly, the Revenue Code does not contain provisions to grant personal income taxpayers a unilateral foreign tax credit in the case where the income is from a country that does not have a double tax agreement with Thailand.
The above site does go on to mention the tax exempt feature referenced by Houston Player and XXL previously. But not with regard to pension and / or Social Security income specifically. Unless that is covered in the terms "income from an employment":

One of the benefits granted to an LTR visa holder is an exemption from income tax on foreign income brought into Thailand, pursuant to Royal Decree No. 743 issued under the Revenue Code. The exemption applies to income from an employment or from business carried on abroad, or from a property situated abroad, that has been brought into Thailand.
And more on Double Taxation Treaties:

    Double Tax Agreements in Thailand.
    30/01/2023

    https://belaws.com/thailand/double-tax-agreements/

Double tax agreements, also known as double tax treaties or double taxation agreements, are agreements between two countries that prevent the double taxation of income. Double tax agreements mean that any income earned by individuals or businesses in one country will not be taxed in another (assuming both countries have a double tax agreement in place).

In Thailand, double tax agreements are signed between the Thai government and the government of another country to provide relief from double taxation for individuals and businesses operating in both countries.
    ..........
The double tax agreement will be applied to individuals and juristic persons of a signatory state to the agreement.

To be entitled to the benefits of a double tax treaty benefits and be classified as a Thai resident, the person must satisfy the following:

*An individual who stays in Thailand for at least 180 days in a tax year

*A company registered in Thailand with the Ministry of Commerce.

Thanks. In the half dozen or so other sites I have visited that pitch assistance in getting the LTR, that is the first one that literally says the words, "Tax exemption for overseas income. " The only reference to taxes I have seen on the other sites was the "17% personal income tax for highly-skilled professionals. ".

He gets to "think" he is the proud owner of some pussy. Two things I do not want are any more responsibilities and any more bills. I am not investing in shit that I have to maintain and there is no return on investment. Why do guys do it to themselves as you said? I guess they just have a lot of extra money laying around.

How much a sponsor sends to bar girl largely depends on the earnings of a bar girl, and the income of the sponsor. Or whether the bar girl has other sponsors.

One lady I know gets 30,000 baht to go back to the village. She would probably go for less, because she has a husband in the village. The sponsor knows she has a husband, he's just a simp.

There are variations of the above. One lady has a sponsor who lives in Pattaya and gives 30,000 baht a month. The bar girl sees him a few days per month, and otherwise, lives with her Thai husband. She went to Kazakhstan with me for 2 weeks recently, told her sponsor some story.

Some sponsors convince themselves that they are the boyfriend. These are men who are not 100% with the program, and are awkward around women. They message the bar girl constantly, a major irritant for the bar girl.

Never give money to a bar girl if you aren't there, as it provides a financial incentive for her not to want to see you.

Anyone bringing money into Thailand who stays in Thailand 180+ days this year will probably have have to file a tax return next year. But, Thailand has a history of announcing stuff that never happens, so maybe this will all be forgotten next year.

Tax Exempt Money Transfers Into Thailand With a LTR?

This does away with my need to get the E-Visa, which costs $40 and takes about 2 hours of my time to apply. The following is the best descriptive article I've seen yet, which includes an abbreviated list of countries that qualify. "The countries eligible for visa-free stays include key tourism markets like China and India, as well as U.S., UK, Albania, UAE, Cambodia, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, Romania, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan."

Sorry, but I couldn't coax the hyperlink to work. You can copy the link and past into your browser, that works.

It's a common ploy for bar girls to claim they "love" some customer, but I do have a small apprehension that this one is crazy.

Last year, she popped out a baby from some Chinese customer. The baby went to the village, and the Chinese guy is allegedly sending money. How she could prove the Chinese guy is the father, I have no idea how that works.

Maybe she is working on Baby Daddy #2 with me. That would piss off a lot of other bar girls.
Posting on Facebook is scary. Imagine if she posts and tags you so everyone can see!

Why would the other bar girls be pissed off? Is it because they want to have a baby with you?

You are correct. The relationship of tax residency to immigration status is unknown at this time.
