I went to dozens of go-gos on my last trip and looked at countless lineups and to me this is the result of that legwork. This is why I still go to Pattaya.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ofc. But to me, she looks like 10000 other girls in Patya that you could pick up for THB 1000. Its like buying a bottle of beer. You can buy one in Paris for EUR 3 or go to a tourist zone in Paris and pay EUR 12 for the same beer.

As independent as they could be. They really get involved in the bar organizing pool teams, sports events, music nights etc.

It has a high local following. Zero to do with Nightwish.

Been there one or two trips ago. They might not have anything to do with NW, but my feeling is the bar (and the girls) have a similar MO.

Also Burger King has nothing to do with McDonald, but they provide same food, service. Just a different brand on uniforms and signage.

They probably think it is the "modern way" to conduct business, screw the customer. It might work well in places like Pattaya, where 90% of visitors are newbie, and rotate continuously, read about bars on vanilla social media, compare prices and girls with home and happy to live the "Pattaya experience", thinking it is the one.

Many motorbike taxis dont bother giving out helmets and the one you get from a rental could be just as grimey.

Foot pegs fold up. If you put your foot under it and apply any type of pressure then it is going to close. You also risk buring yourself on the exhaust pipe. Handle bars on the back of a bike? I have been riding motorcycles damn near since I could walk and I do not understand any of this.

This is a useful image thanks. So are you saying that instead of resting my feet on top of each pedal, that I wrap my feet underneath them instead? I can picture this.

I thought I also read somewhere that the drivers usually do not like passengers to hold onto them. Is this the consensus?

If you are willing to take the risk of a motorbike accident (I'm not) it may be better to rent one. This way you decide how careful you drive, and you can use a clean helmet instead of the grimy one the motorbike guy gives you.

It may sound proper but experience Taxi drivers are use to it. Grabbing the handle bar is actual the worse thing it tranfer to the driver on these small bikes, scooters, all your fears and movement.

Packing someone who does this especially a large farang is dangerous. At stop lights I've seen guys arms they got a death grip their veins are popping out. The key is relax using your inner thighs to squeeze the side if the seat with hands on you lap if needed grabbing his clothes if necessary.

Come on are you really that clueless. Did I say they are involved. Regardless of their indepenence people and owners know each other most of all follow each other leads.

In regardless to HR, I've met the owners I know the first papa and mamasan that was hired to start it up and know where many of the girls came when open and why many have left. From I know their business model.

In the beginning, 3rd floor they had a ST room 500 baht was the BF for girl and room, today it is gone. Take out it 1000 baht no drink requirement. Today BF 1200,5 drink requirement add that all up 200 a pop drink you do the math. Regardless of the TV, free food. Sport bar concept it is in the business of selling drinks and retaining girls. This is a prime example of why I do not "loan" money to chicks. I had never done it before because I learned from other people's mistakes. But I decided to go ahead and undertake this experiment myself with it being such a meager amount.

Then she still begs for 200 more baht. I said I can not. I am still waiting for the other 200 baht. Then she changes to wanting 100 baht. I still say no. Then she says why not as if it is my duty to loan money to her. She asks me why I am so mean.

June 15 comes and goes and not a word from her. June 18 I send the QR code so she can send the money back to me. She says why are you so mean. I said you said you will send the money on June 15 and now is June 18. She has not responded since. Today is June 23.

You do it one time and they are going to keep asking on top of not wanting to pay you back to begin with. I threw away 300 baht to learn something that I already knew. Good thing I am not fool enough to do it with thousands or even hundreds of thousands like many guys have done. I am not a financial institution and have no desire to be one.

I've used moto taxi alot in Colombia with this app Picap. You are correct they have metal pegs to put your feet on and metal handle bars under the seat that you hold onto.

I plan on using them in Thailand and Indonesia too. I already have the gojek app for Jakarta moto taxis. It's the most affordable way to get around other than public transport.

We went to Opium, which was very busy, and had a ridiculous number of dancing ladies. Not very many high quality ladies, and there were too many of them on stage.

Too many ladies on Opium isn't that a good thing? Yes, after the euphoria of night 1 when I listed a bunch of girls who I liked, so many of them haven't been around all week. Place is packed though. Imo they need to work on the quality of the models. Palace on the other hand doesn't have nearly as many girls (only 3 groups of 15 Sunday night) but the average quality of the models is clearly 2 steps ahead.

How Not To Fall Off Motobikes There?

Hold on to the motorbike taxi driver for dear life. His clothes may look like they haven't been washed for months and he not be smelling the greatest being in the hot sun all day with a jacket on but if that's worth saving 1 USD and 5 minutes then up to you. As XXL said, you have to not mind wearing that helmet that hasn't been washed for months/years he may make you put on. I used to take motorbikes until Thailand allowed ride sharing. I prefer not to be sweaty and smelly when I go see my gogo girls.

Compared to beach road, discos, beer bars, LK metro, and soi 6? Yes! I would take a bar girl from Palace unseen compared to taking a freelancer unseen from beach road or anywhere else. One has a higher risk than the other.

Why did you drag Beach Road and discos into it? A comparsion was not part of the question. I was merely asking if every chick in Palace was in your opinion worth the 4000 baht or so the establishment charges, that you have enough faith to call down and tell them to send you any girl there. If not, then maybe the price has less to do with the age and beauty of the hooker as you are leading us to believe.

I see that motobikes are cheap and can get around quickly unlike cars there. My question is how to not fall off one? I'm worried that I'll slide off the back of a seat if the driver accelerates and then traffic hits me from behind. Any insights from you guys who are experienced riding motobikes as a passenger?
