I have been preaching against FiwFans for foreigners except in certain circumstances for ages here.

Indeed you have, but as said, imo it provides an interesting alternative experience, as long as one's expectations are not too high. Get to see parts of Bangkok I'd normally not venture to either, so there's a bit of sightseeing involved there too.

In I think now probably close to 50 experiences, I can't really say I've had more than three, the one yesterday included, that I'd rate as downright bad. The girls, personality wise, are much more to my liking, than bargirls. More next-door type and not as jaded, mercurial, and downright annoying as the bargirls us farangs normally meet. Perhaps I was even the first farang to (try to) fuck the girl yesterday, and that's why she thought my rather average dick was so huge? The girl I met half an hour later that same day said most of her customers were Koreans and Chinese, and she almost never saw farang. She didn't have any problems with me though, and indeed, I've never had that kind of problem with any other girl.

Mostly the issue with fiwfans is the incessant photoshopping to make a very plain girl look like a hot babe, and I can understand why many would not want to waste time on fiwfans because of that. But sometimes the one opening the door is indeed a babe.

Anyway, to each his own, and I'm not really recommending fiwfans to anyone, especially not to people who are just here for a short time, They would probably be better of at places like Maria, Black Caviar, Lalisa, etc. , rather than trawl through fiwfans for the somewhat rare gem. I've started to become better at reading reviews though, so I have fewer fuglies now than before. If fiwfans had dropped the photoshopping, it'd be the greatest thing.

Listen. This website is for Thai customers. If you want ladies that are ok with foreigners, you can't get them easily at these prices that are on fiw fans. You decided to play in the pool with the Thai so deal with it. You can't speak Thai and you expect them to be ok with foreigners. You should have paid the 500. Are you that poor you can't afford it? Come on man. Go to Sukhumvit or TF. Better for you. Sorry to say but no Thai man cares about a stupid review from a foreigner. Why even write one. You got all your money back. Have people had good experiences with FIWFANS? Any bad experiences?

Well, yesterday was pretty bad. That is to say, it was not good.

After showering together and the girl being nice and friendly, she started to write some messages on her phone. Shortly after that she informed me I had to change girls, as I was too big, and then did the comparison between her forearm and my dick that thai girls so much like to to do to stroke our egos. Now, I'd be flattered if that was true, and this girl was no tiny girl either (around 160 cm), but I have never ever been rejected for being too big. Too smelly, too ugly, too devoid of charm, maybe? But too big? No. Ok, I tried to convince her to give it a go (she was pretty, and we were both there naked), but no, she did not want to.

The girl pointed at her phone and presumably the same message from her handler. I was not sure if I should laugh or get pissed, but ended up just getting slightly annoyed.

Now, with fiwfans girls the rule is that you pay first, and that's just the way it is and I don't think there's anything you can do about that, so for some seconds I was wondering if we were going to have a problem here. I however just told her I don't care about that message, and to give me my 1500 baht back while I started getting dressed. She messaged some more with her handler, but I just repeated, 1500. So she gave me my money back as I was tying my shoelaces.

Spent 10 minutes downstairs in the hotel lobby to find another girl at a hotel a 10 minute walk away with the fiwfans app, booked an appointment for 20 minutes later, and off I went.

Wrote a review (those interested can contact me for my fiwfans name if interested), but that was of course deleted.

Now in honesty, I don't think this was a scam attempt. Girl was friendly and joking the whole time, and seemed to honestly think my dick was for some reason too big. Nonsense of course, and I am sure there would not have been any problem if she had just been willing to try (I'm not exactly John Holmes), but there it was.

Another funny story our american brother can add to his list of why not to use fiwfans I guess. ;-)

Only 220 fee and Schwab debit card will pay you back at the end of the month. Slight diff as the month goes on if you do multiple withdrawals and as exchange rate changes.

Fidelity refunds the 220 baht fee same as Schwab. A friend has his IRA with Chase and he tells me that his Chase card does the same thing, but I've never seen a financial statement to verify. There might be minimum deposits required to get this benefit.

Using the Fidelity card at Thai ATMs gives a very good exchange rate, better than the best cash exchange place that I've ever seen.

Certainly economic opportunity has affected the p4p scene, but the changes I speak of are not changes to girls, but to me. Economy does not affect me as far as regular girls are concerned simply because I never pay them anything, neither then nor now.

The change for me is that girls that would be easy to chat up and get to bed 20 years ago, when I was still young, fit, and handsome (ok, not all that handsome to be honest), I'm now fighting an uphill battle to get.

Before I would just smile and say Hi, and they'd already be interested, if not necessarily bending over there and then while standing in line at the 7-11. We'd continue talking in pidgin english / thai, and except if she really had a BF, 9/10 times we'd exchange line info, and probably half of those times we'd end up meeting again for noodles, and most of those times, we'd end up in bed afterwards. It was so easy that unless a girl had a genuine reason for not going back to my place then, I'd not even bother to invite them out again to "seal the deal", even if they wanted me to.

If I do the same now to the same hot looking 20-25 year regular girl, I will usually not get anything more than a polite Hi back, and it will be an uphill battle to get her interested.

Some examples:

- On the MRT going back from a fiwfan girl the other day (a mrt station five hops off from Sukhumvit, so not the most farang populated area) there was a really beautiful student girl spending several minutes looking at her reflection in the barriers they have on the subway stations here, while fixing her really long beautiful hair.

It was rather beautiful to watch her getting it all nice and tidy and in place. I walked up to her, said Hi, made a joke. She said a polite Hi back, but in her attitude I could see there wasn't much interest, and I would be fighting uphill to even get her line-info.

- Similar thing day before yesterday. I was on BTS Asoke and was taking the train just one station (it was raining). Noticed a pretty girl next to me also waiting on the train, chatted for half a minute before the train arrived, and another half minute in the train, before I asked her if she wanted to exchange line info, as I was getting of at the next station and that was all the time I had. She was not interested. I'm thinking with a couple of more minutes, maybe she'd get interested enough (I could see the signs), but 20 years ago, I wouldn't need those extra minutes.

Now, things are not hopeless. E. g. , I recently met a 22 yo TF girl at terminal 21 near closing time. She was there because she was bored, and I was walking past terminal 21 on my way back after gym and dinner. We had been chatting a bit back and forth that evening. She spent the night, and the next day I took her to lunch (I work more or less full-time while here), just because I'm a polite guy.

But this girl was I guess a 6/10 (just for reference I'd rate the average bar-girl I see here in Bangkok as 2/10 or something like that), and bored. I just happened to be there at the right time. 20 years ago, she'd be an 8/10, with plenty of both young thai guys and old farangs (like me now) pestering her for dates. 20 years ago, it'd be that really pretty student girl doing her hair on the MRT station, or the somewhat less pretty (7. 5/10?) girl on the BTS.

So: yes, it's a lot easier to date "young pretty things" here in Thailand than in the west, but anyone thinking it does not matter if you're the age of her dad / grandad, or someone from the same generation as herself is fooling himself. It matters. Just it matters less than in the west.
I still have opportunities and I still bang girls half my age, but the opportunities are fewer, and I have to work much harder at them.

I've been to 42 countries. The first time I visited BKK I was shocked at the quantity of beautiful girls. Tokyo, Florence, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Phnom Peng* and HK don't come close.

Usually the ATM will prompt you to accept or decline a currency conversion which you should always decline. It's just a random fee that does nothing to change the money you get back except add a fee for the bank to siphon some money. Those more versed in currency exchange can probably explain what it actually is, but the important part is to just decline and continue the conversion (it won't stop you from getting your money in baht). You get the refund at the end of the month so don't expect it right away.

Overnight to Pattaya is recommended. But also give serious consideration to a trip to Ayutthiya. It is not far, just 80 km to the north of Bangkok. Suggest you find a guide that has a car, and offer her the opportunity to stay overnight with you at a hotel. Even if she needs a seperate room and does not want any intimate relations, it would be worthwhile. Ideally, find hotel that has free bicycles. It is a great area to just ride around, if bicycles are your thing.

Bangkok. Go visit Lumpini park, go do the floating market, eat spicy papaya salad, mango with sticky rice, explore the amazing shopping malls (Central World), get foot massage, and you get the idea!

If you do go to Pattaya, you might want to just get a private taxi. Taking the bus is also recommended (from Ekamai), but for your first trip a private car is best. There are a few good companies that have good reputation. Cost 1200 to 1500 baht plus tip. Book at least a few days in advance.

There is a seperate section for Bangkok hotels. You should ask your qquestion there, but I could suggest a few places. 1. Park Plaza Soi 18 - short walk to Sukhumvit, yet it's fairly quiet on this soi (don't bother buying their breakfast) 2. Jasmine City hotel, located on Soi 23 just off of Sukhumvit (almost next to Soi Cowboy).

You will enjoy every minute of your trip. Your itinerary is ideal.

It is hit and miss. If you don't speak Thai, it will be more miss than hit. Thai Friendly freelancers are better for you or find them in Thermal cafe. However, the prices won't be the same. If you want a huge selection of freelancers that speak enough English and aren't scared of foreigners for a decent price, Pattaya is better than Bangkok. I speak Thai and even I have had my share of bad experiences, but the good ones were really good.

Better to exchange currency in USA Or in Thailand and where exactly?

Thailand. T. T currency exchange. If you plan to come 3 or more times per year, you can open a Thai bank account as a tourist. Then no need to worry about this. However, you will need the help of an agent. About 5000 baht give or take 500 baht either way.

Is 1 week too short or is 2 weeks too long just to monger and explore a little?

10 days is perfect. Not too long and not too short.

Are there even decent activities besides mongering in Bangkok?

1. Shopping.

2. Visiting temples.

3. Enjoying all the great cuisine.

4. Chatting up real local girls in the malls, BTS stations, in RCA, and on Kowsan Rd.

Open up a bank account with no international fees (or ones that refund it). Many, including myself, recommend a Charles Schwab account for international travel. Just go to any ATM to withdraw money (the random fees get refunded at the end of the month) and you use the card they give you. I've found that the rates are among the best when compared to most money changers, plus it's a lot easier. You don't need to carry around a huge wad of cash and there are usually ATMs close to wherever you stay. Airline ATMs have jacked up rates, just like the money changers so I would recommend only pulling out a small there and then finding an ATM wherever you are staying.
