My last visit to Thailand was 2015 and my last visit to Medellin was 2019 and I thought at the time that Medellin was cheaper than Thailand. However, you are in Medellin now and you spend much time in Thailand so I'll have to accept your comparison. Things have certainly changed.

I'm In Thailand right now and I can confirm 100% that Medellin is cheaper, but obviously you need to compare apples to apples. Of course a beach road freelancer is cheaper than a girl from gustos or loutron etc.

Transportation is also cheaper in Thailand with the baht bus costing just 10 baht (30 ¢ usd)​ and the Medellin​ metro costing 3280 COP (82 ¢ usd). ​

I will soon be venturing into the jungle into the northern Isaan region of Thailand to a town called Udon Thani which is 60 km from the Thailand / Laos border. Things are supposed to be alot cheaper up there than in Pattaya (which is basically a tourist destination) so maybe up there the price the women charge will be more closer to what prostitutes in Colombia charge. Yes. A couple of times in Bogota. Does not really mean anything. If you look at it, that is only pre doing what hotels do once you arrive. How I see it for Airbnb's is that is only for the owner to keep track of who is in their place. The security is the one that actually signs people in. No security has ever told me that person is not on the list and can not come in. They just ask for their ID and sign them in as usual. Hell at the place I am in Bogota right now the security just turns the book around and make you sign yourself in.

Disclaimer: Medellin could be a different animal about it the way stuff is going on in the news. So they could probably be strict on the policy. Other cities do not do all the bullshit that Medellin does, but I can understand why. These other cities are not filled with the Medellin drama.
