I would not put any more than 10% in gold. And in companies, not coins or bullion, that have covered calls. I have a gold mining company I bought in '09 at 33 it is now at 142, but the real money was made in covered calls as my cost basis is -10 not counting dividends. Not like stocks gold is an expense not a cash generator until you sell.
