If it is your first time in the DR, I would suggest you make sure the AirBNB has security who will check cedulas of the chicas.

Or you can stay in Sosua where everyone knows what's up and the hotel security guys generally will keep you safe from crazy chicas, check cedulas to avoid underage scams etc - all for a very reasonable propina (tip)

Skip the Arbnb, Stay in town, Sosua inn or Casa Valeria, no car needed, security on site,5 minute walk to ground zero albeit Caberette is nice if your a vett have a few trusted repeats and have a car or rental car be safe have fun, Rule numeral no! CHICA PROOF YOUR ROOM! Peace Out!

I wouldn't recommend taking a Sosua chica out of town, unless you've had a chance be up close and personal with her first, so you'll have an idea how she's likely to behave in your room. And as far as "hot" is concerned, they are all Dominican anyway.

Try mongering in Cabarete first, there's far fewer chicas on the game there, but they are to be found in the bars after 8 pm. Some are "hot", and you could get lucky and find one you want to repeat with, without the hassle of arranging the trip and finding out she's a dud, and you have to pay her way there and back if you don't have a car. She may be on Dominican time and be hours late, hell, she may not even show up.

The beach bars go til late, and I've been lucky in the Ariba Bar just across the road.

I got a bet going with another og monger that's about to me pay dividends. While folks were panicking in the streets about sosua beach vendors having to move back in 2022 I betted him that 3 yrs from now (2025) the powers that be, will still NOT have moved one beach vendor. Well, 2025 is coming soon and correct me if I'm wrong but I haven't heard not one beach vendor being force to uproot and move for the new beach construction.

I walked to the Charamicos end early this morning. Not much seems to have happened since I was there in April. May be a bit more of the concrete huts but not sure what stage it is.

However, this evening when I was going out of Sosua, lot of cars parked on the side of the road and the taxi guy was saying that all of those were for visitors.

For reference the Las Terrenas Pueblo de Pescodores was still being built a couple of months ago (3 ish years?) and the tourism minister had a photo-op just after I left.

Dehydration took me out for day and half, then I started loving my bed. A few days went back to the apartment just to sleep. Right now the government officials and would be developers are wrangling with the vendors (otherwise known as "consulting with stakeholders") to try and sort it all out. The vendors have an "Association of Beach Vendors" that is recognized by the government as the People's voice.

But the vendors are a diverse lot, and range from those locals that operate a hole in the wall, a wooden table and a couple of bar stools, and who gets his menu items from the guy 2 doors down, LOL. To more sophisticated operations with expensive layouts and real kitchens. So they don't have a lot in common.

Like any re-development, it's all about dinero. For some it's about getting space in the new facilities, while others are just hanging out for the best offer, what they see as a potential score, as government money is being tossed around. There's always a suspicion that "certain" businesses will receive favourable treatment, and prime locations.

But construction as already started with improvements, on the highway and sidewalks above the beach. Change is coming folks are told, and the militia has been showing up in force on the beach to send that message. So it's coming, but how long, and what if there's a change in government?

Meanwhile most locals are focused on more immediate issues in their lives. For most it's a shrug and a quien saber cuando?

But one thing's for sure. When it's is cleaned up, it will still be hard to stop local hoes from advertising their wares down there, because, after all, it IS a beach.

Think of the problems if a hot tourista in a miniscule thong gets picked up by the cops by mistake! LOL.
