I can tell you that I have been posted up here in Pattaya during low season and I have been posted up here in Pattaya during high. If you went to DR, which is probably a short, cheap flight, and found just what you're looking for, why spend more money for a much longer flight, to look for something you already found?

Thai girls are masters at knowing which demographic their bodies appeal to. So if you want to find girls into the Hip Hop Culture (which to me is more important that their body style) you go and park yourself up in Club 808 and pull freelancers. Also Club Flex.

808: Only worth it if you like fat chicks. I've been going to 808 daily on the off chance I see something good, but more times than not it's not the case.

I like the music and vibe in 808. I never take anyone out of 808 because I don't like the format. I've been to clubs all over the world all my life. I have no use for a night club. And there's another factor: when ladies finally go home due to lack of customers, they tell their friends in the village how much they made during High Season, and some of their friends head for Pattaya. Arriving during Low Season.

I'm coming to Pattaya on 17 April. I did not read the Songkran warning posts before booking nonrefundable hotel. I know big mistake.

Can anyone guide how to monger without getting wet? I'm thinking if I should stay holed up in my room for a couple days with a TF girl or just suck it up and stay in Bangkok until 19 April. I was even considering walking around in raincoat but that feels like too much hassle. I understand many girls will not be working anyway.

You and others complaining about Songkran are very DRAMATIC. I was there the entire Songkran last year in Pattaya and did not get wet. Been in Thailand for 5 Songkrans and only my first was I soaked. Because I didn't know shit. There is only one day where it's an all out water fight and that's the last day. The other days build up slowly to that last day. Carry an umbrella and not a water gun. 99% people won't spray you unless you acting like a tourist who wants to play. Walked 1 km everyday to Coco Fitness and back home and was fine. If you see a fight on the street, take a detour. Don't go walking straight into it. Also don't go walking around places like Soi 6, Boo Cow, 2nd, or BR. You can still monger with TF, BR at night, Soapies, MPs, GCs, and WS bars and clubs most if not ALL nights. Just make sure you take a Bolt to your destination instead of walking around playin the victim card. Third road and beyond are relatively safe. Plenty of bars over there and on dark side. Nakula has their own separate water fight day too. It's just those first 3 roads that have the baht buses they like to spray. Don't take a fucking baht bus. I walk around, wrapped in my bed sheets and bare foot, pretending to be a Hindu Sannyasi monk. So they all leave me alone. LOL.

I have been to similar venues in other parts of the world. They can be a total miss or a great turn on. In Pattaya the only place that came close to this was a massage shop that had simple curtains act as (semi-transparent) walls between different massage "rooms".

Is there any other such place in Pattaya (or in Bangkok) where one can view or participate in pubic affection (pun intended)?

A quick search turned up Sinful House in Bangkok, a members only swinger's club. They are on Twitter. They claim to be the only swinger's club in Thailand. They also have a website. Looks like it might be an option.

There's one particular time of the year many people don't want to be in Thailand and especially in Pattaya. Songkran is a lot of fun for Thais, starts the 12th April for 3 days in all of Thailand, except for Pattaya where they extend the suffering for one week. One week of throwing water gets very annoying (the 19th April being the worst). Some tourists, visitors or whatever you like to call them like to partake but most people find it's too long.

Correct, I will always avoid Songkran. Being drenched in water all day and having strangers throw water directly in your face/eyes all week for a festival is not as “fun” as it sounds, from many mongers who have told me about it.

I also try to avoid Thailand during monsoon season. The streets can get massively flooded.
