So I have some questions.

Is Russia indeed not willing to agree to a comprehensive temporary ceasefire unless western military aid and intelligence sharing is stopped? Or is that just the starting Russian position for purposes of negotiation?

I'll take a crack at some of these questions for fun and express my opinion.

I think Putin stuck to his guns and gave very little, if anything away. This 30 day ceasefire on ENERGY infrastructure means very little. So it means in essence that for 30 days, Russia will not attack Ukrainian energy infrastructure, right? Well, anyone that has been following the Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure targets (like I have) would know that the Russians usually carry out 1 attack each month. And the last one was a few days before this ceasefire was agreed upon. So this ceasefire means very little. And yes, this may lead to somewhere IF western aid and intelligence is stopped.

Ultimately do you believe Russia will accept either an Ukraine thats not neutral, or alternately a neutral Ukraine with western security guarantees?

I think this is a silly question. Russia will never ever accept a Ukraine that is not neutral. If you have been watching the news, Trump and his team have already said Ukraine will never join NATO so that sticking point appears to have been settled between the 2 great powers here (USA and Russia). Ukraine will just be informed of their decisions.

This is a tricky one. The Euros want to fight on for a long time using the poor Ukrainians. If Trump is really serious about ending this and it does look like he is, if he cuts off ALL AID to Ukraine, makes the territorial concessions plus neutrality for Ukraine that the Russians are demanding, then I think there is a chance for the war ending this year. The Euros can't do dick without American support.

All Russian medias suck Putin, or they would have big problems. Putin is elected like in north Korea. No real Pravda in Russia, but a dictator.
