I plan on staying in the DMK airport area given there are so many nice hotels at a very reasonable price compared to the ones on Sukhumvit road. Are there any good mongering establishments in the DMK neighbourhood within walking distance? I wonder how much would a single one way trip cost and and hopefully it would burn a hole in my wallet.

Tip: just open the grap app while outside Thailand and enter the to and from addresses to see what it will cost, and google maps for a better idea of how long it will take. My guess is one hour plus each way, so I wouldn't bother with that myself.
