I haven't been to Bangkok for many years. Last time was in 2008 but have fond memories of the Grace Hotel having stayed there a couple of times in the 90's and mid 00's. It was basically a hotel set up for whoring. Lots of freelancers milling around reception, it had a nightclub, and also its own fishbowl in the basement for fans of soapies! Also had girls outside the car park. You could also phone reception and have a girl sent to your room. Also had a ten pin bowling alley. There were no shortage of hookers on site spread across the site. Possibly 70-80 and not all Thai girls.

One fond memory is on my the last night, my mate and I were down to the bare bones in terms of cash. We had enough between us for one stunner for the rest of the night. We chose her and played one frame of snooker (they had a full size table). Winner got to have her for the night. Luckily I won and after potting the black, potted her pink though not the brown! Halcyon days!

On my last two visits to Bangkok there were a reasonable number of Uzbek girls working in the Grace. The last time I was staying in a different hotel nearby with the rest of the stag party I was a part of but popped in out of curiosity and old times sake along with another lad and took an Uzbek from Grace back to my hotel as I fancied something different.

Clientele even them were predominantly though not exclusively from the Gulf or Pakistan but no one really cared where you were from. As a result there were some nice Pakistani and Middle Eastern restaurants on the soi. Always felt sorry for the normal tourists who would sometimes end up in the Grace especially those with families.

Wonder if it had changed. I suspect and hope not!

Here is a video posted about a year ago that might provide an idea. Definitely still an Arab venue, but I never had a problem when I patronized the basement club scene. As I might've mentioned, that club type joint rocked, with lots of free lancers.

Its on soi 3. If you are coming from soi 4, on left side, hardly 50 metres after you crosss sukhmvit road. Its big hotel, most of the clients are from arab, Bangladesh and pakistan. It has walkthrough leading to the reception. On this you find approx 20 WG s of different nationalities looking for customer. I met one iraqi also. Its just a small sample of soi 4, but I found quality was good. (in my opinion).

I had a look at the first couple of pages of reviews on Booking.com.

Virtually all of them come from people in Muslim countries (predominately Gulf countries). Wonder what those nice religious lads would be doing in Thailand?

I guess success at Thermae depends on:

1) your age.

2) your looks.

3) your race.

4) your manners.

5) the size o your wallet.

If most are in your favour then you will probably find success. Lacking in several departments means certain failure.

I'd say 5, 4 and 3 in that order. 1 & 2 not really important.
