Posts: 4832On a negative note, the drug cartels were going to be hurting when pot was legalized, and they needed a new revenue source. It is funny how the prescription opioid "crisis" came into being once pot was legal, and the drug cartels were able to use fentanyl and heroin to shore up their losses in pot. It is almost as if the DEA is controlled by the cartels.

The drug dealers had more honor in that county than law enforcement. "Word had rippled through the county that a prison gang affiliated with the Gulf Cartel had been authorized to shoot Hidalgo County deputies because too many drug loads had been stolen by crooked cops."
Jonathan started receiving death threats, says a former narcotics investigator. "There's still something of a code of honor among drug dealers," he says. "You don't just go and jack anybody's dope because at the end of the day that guy might be working for the same guy you're working for. But then you have these independent gangs and all they do is steal dope, and they don't care. Well, Jonathan fell into that group. They didn't care who they stole dope from, and they didn't have any alliance with anybody. They were working for themselves and that's where they got their troubles. "
MDS, there was a bit of a mob presence where I grew up and I noticed the mob always had the best restaurants. LOL. Maybe that is because they wanted a lot of volume to launder their money.
Thing is Vegas is now being run by hedge fund guys and not the mobs, and I never thought I would say this, but Vegas, a city where I had so many good times, has just had the joy sucked out of it. The Democratic douches are claiming Vegas is down because of Trump but it is down because instead of it being a fun place, the hedge guys are fucking you over every chance they get. It used to be on average you would lose a few hundred in the casino but you would be at the $5 buffets and $2 shrimp cocktails and the great shows, and you had a good time. I told myself someone has to pay for all the amazing light shows.
But even if you won big, Vegas would still get your money as you buy the $100 cheeseburger or blow your winnings at a strip club. You would blow $100 at a blackjack table and get a free Coke. Now the free cokes are gone and if you go to the gift shop, they charge you $8 a coke.
Vegas needs the mob guys back in charge of the casinos.
Thing is you are right in that the cartels have a lot of power and that can be a good thing. Of all the countries I looked at and how they handled Covid, I thought only Sweden had better policies than Mexico, and I think that was in large part because of the cartels.

Posts: 1956Democrats win big in 2025 Elections
In various key election 2025 races, around the country (NY, NY, PA, VA, CA) the Democrats, just destroyed MAGA/Repubs and WON convincingly, in what appears to be a good bell weather test or referendum, for the 2026 elections.
Democrats sweep key races in 2025 elections in early referendum on Trump, Nov 5th, 2025. https://www.cbsnews.com/live-updates...oting-results/
Just wanted to say THANKS to the MAGA Fuhrer, for the great assist and all the MAGA candidate endorsements!
P.S: With results like these (I suspect the Fuhrer knew was coming), is it any wonder why, the Commander in Cheat, is looking to redistrict, gerrymander, rig, con, swindle and lie, his way towards winning in 2026?

Posts: 7970Oh yeah, I forgot that lame Repub excuse.
Dammit! I knew there were many more lame Repub excuses for why every Great Depression, Great Recession and Massive Jobs Destruction of the past 100 years or so occurred as a direct result of Repub policies and stewardship and none of the great economic recoveries, great economic expansions and historic jobs creation that I forgot to cite!

So now we can add "but he was really a Democrat" to that growing list, as was also the lame Repub excuse for Eisenhower's 3, count 'them, 3 Recessions during his presidency, culminating in one of the worst jobs creation records of all time.
Ok. To recap:
A Wild Coincidence!
It's Just Bad Luck For Repubs!
It's Just Good Luck For Dems!
A Weird Economic Cycle That For Whatever Reason Hates Repubs and Loves Dems!
Must Be a Witch's Curse!
But he Was Really a Dem!
Fake News!
Please update me with any more lame excuses you MAGAs can come up with.
But for the love of god and all that is holy, never, never, never go near the most blatantly obvious real and true reason for it; Repub policies and stewardship are crap, either because they are too stupid to think of and produce better ones or, far more likely, because they WANT to produce Great Depressions, Great Recessions and Massive Jobs Destruction.
The latter being more generous to the Repubs in that to go with the former one can then only conclude Repubs are the absolute dumbest, most ignorant, feckless and incompetent pols and voters that ever existed on the Planet.

Is it a clean sweep of Dem wins today to add to the already amazing record of special election wins for the Dems since Trump began his 2nd Trump's Pandemic and Wipe Out Millions of Jobs term? I think it is:
Democrats win Virginia governor, attorney general races, NBC News projects
https://www.cnbc.com/2025/11/04/virg...ndroidappshare
Interesting how different things turn out when a particular election outcome does not hinge on a Repub-favorably rigged Electoral College system where a tiny handful of angry Muslims spread across the only three swing states that mattered can be manipulated by the criminally indicted leader of a foreign country into swinging less than a single percentage point of the total votes in those three states in order to install The Worst President in USA History again so he can once again produce The Worst Economic and National Security Results in USA History.Democratic candidates will win the Virginia governors race and the states attorney general election, NBC News projects.
Democrat Abigail Spanberger will defeat Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, becoming Virginias first female governor.
Democratic state attorney general nominee Jay Jones will unseat Republican incumbent Jason Miyares, NBC projects.
Did any Repub MAGA Trump endorsement prevail today? Not sure. I'll have to check with the lying, fake and under-medicated news reports.

Posts: 4040Which Herbert Hoover? Herbert Hoover The RINO
Hoover, who had long been associated with the more progressive wing of the Republican Party (he had even pondered a run as a Democrat in 1920), was a proactive president who proposed numerous government actions in response to the Great Depression.

Posts: 7970While Trump and his MAGAs hide from the BLS Reports:
Oh, right. Like the data gatherers at the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, everybody at Indeed is also lying, reporting fake news and needs medical help.
I almost forgot.
But, hey, since Trump and his MAGAs are hiding from the BLS Reports because they are as typically and predictably crappy as virtually every other Repub policy and stewardship results of the past 100 years, guess what it is reporting.
Yep. Another "Worst since" a previous Repub policy and stewardship handoff to an incoming Dem, who then went on to recover all the millions upon millions of jobs that Repub, guess who, wiped out with one disastrous policy decision after another for four solid years. And now that same failed Repub president, guess who, is doing it all over again.
You know, I think some MAGA here reminded us how intelligent, worthy and deserving the Greatest Generation was in the past. Boy was that right with regard to their awareness, some would say "wokeness", when it came to elections; After Repub Herbert Hoover left office having lost more jobs than he created, just like guess who, unlike the MAGA voters this past year they were not colossally stupid enough to elect that same numbskull Repub as president again 4 years after FDR began to recover all the jobs Herbert Hoover wiped out!
Job openings in October slumped to lowest since February 2021, Indeed says
https://www.cnbc.com/2025/11/04/job-...ndroidappshare
Employment opportunities hit their lowest level in more than 4 years as October came to a close and the government shutdown dragged on, according to data from jobs site Indeed.
Indeeds dashboard of indicators also has shown a decline in salary offerings as job advertisements have declined.

Posts: 1956Electrostate vs. Petrostate: Is fossil fuel baseload "functionally extinct"? Part II
For those interested in, why baseload is a myth?
- Renew Economy: Dan Tehan fails to grasp difference between baseload and firming as he sprouts nonsense on nuclear, October 8th, 2025
"It’s a crucial point to understand. “Baseload” is not so much a technical virtue as a business model – the people who invest in coal generators, and nuclear in particular, count on those machines operating at or near full capacity most of the time" https://reneweconomy.com.au/dan-teha...se-on-nuclear/
Absolutely Brilliant Definition of The Baseload Myth:
The quote above (I think), is on of the best descriptions I've ever read, that neatly explains "baseload" from a macro level and cuts to the heart of why fossil fuel incumbents, continue to confuse so many people (especially those "drill-baby-drill" zealots) and blur the two aspects together, as something renewables MUST live up to.
Yeah...simply put, if the fossil fuel companies, monopolies and czars, would love nothing more, than to have you burning their product 24/7, to generate "baseload" electrical power. Which is always great for their bottom-line and your continual "drug" addiction and dependence..
The real innovation isn't in finding a new "baseload," but in building a smarter, more flexible, and truly resilient system that renders the old concept functionally extinct.
In this new paradigm, the virtue is no longer "who can run the longest without stopping," but "who can ramp up and down most effectively to balance supply and demand." The goal is not to find a single source to cover the minimum demand, but to create a portfolio of resources that can meet the entire demand curve, from the baseload to the peak.

Sure, sure, sure, every Great Depression, Great Recession and Massive Jobs Destruction of the past 100 years happening as a direct result of Repub policies and stewardship and none of the great economic recoveries, economic expansions and historic jobs creation is merely a wild coincidence, maybe a witch's curse or some bizarro world economic cycle that only favors Dems and hates Repubs.

Oh, and you are dead wrong about poor widow Elon Musk and his ilk not needing Social Security. Anyone who hopes to sell anything to anyone in America needs Social Security more than I do. If anyone wants to succeed in such a thing he damn well better hope American families have more and not less discretionary spending money in their pockets because they need to take in mom, dad, drunk uncle, old maid auntie to house, feed, medicate and pay for because society has little or no use for someone in their 80's but will possibly live until 95+.
You seem to know even less about Social Security, why it was created, who it benefits and what life was like in America before we had it than you know about economics in general. Which is shockingly little.

Yeah, now we all know that you can parrot, said facts reported in that USA Government report, but how about you take the time and LEARN HOW TO READ A REPORT, and to UNDERSTAND, what the data and facts mean?
Why is it you always stumble, bumble and fart-around with UNSUBSTANTIATED FACTS and OPINIONS, and fail to even know what the fuck, your arguing about?
(U.S.) Drug Trafficking: https://www.ussc.gov/research/quick-...ug-trafficking.
You make the argument that immigrants are trafficking (or your words, smuggling) drugs in the USA, but the report clearly shows more white men/women are trafficking drugs in the USA Than non-USA Citizens. Note that sub-category of non-USA Citizens could be anyone from tourists, people on business, visa jumpers, illegal visitors / over-stayers, refugees / asylees, green card holders and / or immigrants. Hence the number of actual immigrant traffickers, is probably way smaller than the 19%, of reported non-USA Citizens. .
It took you a week to come up with this garbage.
Again, your putting words in my mouth. I never claimed anything on the percentage of immigrants or non immigrants smuggling drugs in. I clearly stated 19% is way too high. My opinion is that the 44% Hispanic Americans have strong family ties to the cartels in Latin America and are probably first generation Americans or even born in those countries. As I already stated, it is irrelevant to what is important. What is important is stopping Americans from dying from fentanyl.
I don't care who is bringing it in. Republicans don't care who smuggles it in. Republicans and all people who don't have Trump Derangement Syndrome care about saving American lives and fighting against Cartels which control large parts of the Mexican Government. The drugs which are killing Americans are coming from Mexico and Latin America. To stop the drugs, you must secure the border. It is that simple.
As for immigration, yes I think securing the border also means you must remove the maybe up to 25 million illegal immigrants who came. They will contribute to that 44% Hispanic Americans smuggling drugs in the future. As Trump stated, he wants to remove the illegals and then start the process of allowing some of them to return through the legal process where they will fairly pay taxes to live in my country. Drugs and Fentanyl deaths is just one component of removing illegal immigrants. As I stated numerous times, there are many different reasons for why I support Trump's policy on illegal immigrants to the Biden / Democrat policy of an open border. If you make me choose, I favor Trump's policy strongly over the alternative open border disaster.
But the main point of the original argument which you keep trying to shy away from because it is so stupid to fucking argue is that this policy of removing illegal immigrants has absolutely nothing to do with race!! It has to do with fairness, safety, and money. IT IS THAT simple!
You have shown nothing to convince anyone, who doesn't suffer from TDS, otherwise.
And also, your little side quest on why Trump is not targeting European Immigrants was the dumbest argument I have heard in awhile. Please try to explain that more LOL. Again you won't answer the relevant questions which could prove your argument.
How many illegal immigrants from Europe came to USA last year? How many tons of cocaine and fentanyl were smuggling in from Europe last year? We are all waiting on your response Spidy LOL? Try not to take several weeks to reply haha.
