Upon reflection, I more or less, came to the same conclusion. IMHO, however, their timing to end the shutdown, could have been "planned/crafted" a little better, before deciding to cave.

Meaning, this close to the success of BIG WIN in the 2025 Elections and the "NO KINGS" rallies, did kind of sour those victories, somewhat IMHO. Although FWIW, I think that hardworking Americans, do have a clearer picture, of just how cruel and callous the MAGA Fuhrer and Repubs, can be and have been.

IMHO, it should have been dragged out, for just a few more weeks/days (it was already 36 days, so a few more days), taking it a little past Thanksgiving, which would have given Dems a chance to leave an incredible indelible imprint of Repub carnage and suffering, on the American people, and given Dems a magnificent campaign runway, into just how cruel, rotten and callous Repubs, were at Thanksgiving. Essentially, milking that shock and awe, all the way up to the 2026 Midterms...just before 2026 Thanksgiving, could have been a nice golden ticket..

Its sickening you applaud the shutdown. You realize how many people didn't get paid because Dems shut the government down for no reason other than to politically attack the Trump Administration. If I am wrong on that, explain for what reason it was shut down that couldn't be negotiated.

And the "No Kings Rally". First off I want to congratulate all Democrats for finally learning to protest peacefully. Good Job and welcome to the 20th century, your about 125 years to late to finally figure this all out though. Anyway, same thing, what was the No kings Rally even about? They claim Trump is acting like a king, a dictator, a facist? Ok, just give me one example how he is a any of that? To be fair though, it was all done peacefully and that is the right of the people, but it is just kind of pathetic they have to make up lies about the president to have a rally. Like just call it a Democrat support rally and get people to come out and support Democrat policies, but the Democrats only real policy to get votes is to just make up likes about Trump that he is the head of a Monarch LOL and sing Koom Bay Yah haha. Sorry, def not the Party I understand at all these days. I personally will stick with the party that advocates for real policies that will help people.

And I can't wait for your "Christmas Special" on how Trump has been a naughty boy and spent too much money decorating the White House, while also bringing in Trillions of dollars in new trade deals. But yea dude, focus on a few million here and there and forget to mention the "Trillions" he has brought in to Americans. Sorry to burst your bubble, this is just more publicity for Trump and in the end the files will prove and show he did nothing wrong and it is only going to make Trump / Republicans stronger and more popular. If there was something incriminating in the files, it would have come out years ago.

We all can't wait for the release of the files, because it will show Trump did nothing wrong. How do I know this? If Trump did anything even slightly controversial, it would have come out long ago. Must give it up for Dems though, they are playing their cards masterfully with the Epstein files case, except one fact. Files will be released way too soon and show nothing and everyone will forget very quickly about it, as that's what people do these days. Once it shows nothing, Trump just becomes a stronger anit-hero. Same thing with the false impeachments and civil trials and everything else. This is all going to just make Trump and Republicans stronger in the end.

To be very fair though, if the files do show something serious, as if Trump really did engage in behavior which is truly a felony, then I have no problem apologizing to everyone for anything I have stated on this subject and will clearly admit I am wrong. But that isn't going to happen because there is nothing in the files.

Bear in mind that only about 6% of the country benefits from the ACA / Obamacare. And that is the only part of the Trump / MAGA Repub Government Shutdown that was left on the table not Won by the Dems. So to prolong the suffering of everyone else over the Thanksgiving Holidays, the layoffs with no pay and no settlement about backpay, the suspension of SNAP, etc, all of which Trump and his MAGA Repubs flipped / caved on, ran the realistic risk that the pain of the American people in general matching or exceeding the political pain of Trump and his MAGA Repubs, which would foster resentment against the Dems for not flipping / caving rather than fostering an intensification of their publicly-demonstrated and electorally-proven resentment of Trump and his MAGA Repubs.

And that one element left on the table not Won by the Dems? The extension of the added subsidies for the ACA / Obamacare necessary now for the same reason they were necessary and enacted during Trump's Pandemic; because Trump's economic policies and stewardship are so disastrously bad the American Working Men and Women are suffering too much to buy groceries, god I'm glad Trump invented that word, and gas, pay their mortgage, pay for healthcare, etc, and all while prices and the rate of inflation are higher this year under Trump than they were last year under Biden and while, sure enough, Trump's jobs creation numbers are once again horrible?

LOL. The Dems will Win that one for the greater good of America no matter how Der Fuhrer Trump and his MAGA Repubs vote on it in a month or so.

See, those congressional MAGA Repubs' Red State constituents make up a big chunk of that aforementioned 6% and are as likely if not more likely to be relying on the extension of those additional ACA / Obamacare subsidies than Blue States! Therefore, the pressure on those Congressional MAGA Repubs to agree to an extension as a stand alone, clearly focused vote will be tremendous.

Jeffries and Schumer know this.

The Congressional MAGA Repubs will vote NO on extending those subsidies and they will enter a midterm year after having jacked up millions of their constitients' healthcare costs by 100%, 200% or more.

At which point, the Dems will be in the best position possible to win the most House seats and possibly some Senate seats in order to stop and undue the Trump / MAGA destruction of America and its economy beginning in January 2027.

There is nothing more the Dems can get out of allowing Trump and his Congressional Repubs to prolong their government shutdown.

Who in the world honestly thinks a newly won "written" agreement, legislation or law would prevent Trump, his fellow MAGAs in Congress and abetted by their 6 MAGAs in the Supreme Court would honor ANY law they passed even if it were written in the blood of their children?

The majority of the American people blame Trump and the Repubs for the shutdown. Polls show this.

The American people are riled up and emotionally opposed to Repubs in record numbers. The No Kings Demonstrations showed this.

That emotional investment translates into votes for Dems. Virtually every election since January shows this, especially last week.

Those 5 Dems that flipped did the right thing at the right time.

• Plans to remake marble presidential bathrooms vs. gov't workers unpaid bills, as unpaid workers suffer racking up debt, during the shutdown.

• Ridiculous, wasteful and unnecessary purchase of 2 New Private Jets for Kristi Noem vs. unpaid TSA/FAA gov't workers, flight delays, shutdowns and curtailed schedules, as travelers suffer from the chaos.

• Egomaniac destruction of the WH East Wing to remake into $300 million palatial gold and marble presidential ballroom vs. while affordability is front of mind for most vulnerable, who are struggling to loose their homes, the rising cost of rent, inflation and lost SNAP benefits.

• $40 billion to Argentina vs. American farmers and ranchers who are struggling to meet their financial debt obligations.

All this suffrage around Thanksgiving, makes for a powerful an image, I don't think Americans would forget, at the 2026 Ballot-Box.
