A baht bus just charged me 15 instead of the usual 10. Has there been a raise?

Posts: 6804I'll tip the girl BEFORE I take care of the bill. That way there is ZERO chance the bar (or other wait staff / girls) takes the tip I intended for the girl and not the bar.

Posts: 2203If you want a particular person to have the tip, hand it to them. Don't leave it on the tray.

The server gets to keep the tip money and is not required to share it with other staff or in some cases pass it along to the owner of the venue when you take it out of the folder and put it in her or his hand. If the server standing in front of me when I get my change back is the one who did all or most of the work I always put the tip in her hand and it always elicits a smile and a thank you.

Found this little gem on Soi 6. Fresh from the farm, no tattoos, nice be* cups, and a really good smile and attitude. BBFS, and she didn't even ask for a tip. After we were done, I had another drink with her at the bar. I paid and told her to keep the change. When she brought it back, I pointed at the money and then at her, trying to show she could keep it.
She didn't take it straight away and started saying something in Thai. To be fair, her English was basically non-existent – earlier, when I asked her age, she used a calculator to show me "20" LOL. Anyway, I had no idea what she was saying, so I just took the money out of the folder and put it in her hand. Only then did she smile and keep it.
My question is: when a bar girl brings the change back to the cashier, who usually keeps it? The cashier, the bar, or the girl?

Posts: 653I recently finished a 3-day trip to Pattaya. Was with 3 girls. Two of them were 3000st from TF. They were both attractive enough to be worth that in my opinion. I got plenty of offers for 2000st, but I'd rather pay more for better looking.
I also went to XS as soon as it opened. Paid 6000 which covered the girl and the bar fine. Add to this 3 mandatory lady drinks for her to leave and my 140 water, and 500 for the short-time room. 7300 total, about $225. You might think it's high for "3rd world" but I picked the hottest girl in the place so it's worth it to me.
I'm wondering if anyone knows what are the best clubs to find Uzbeks? And would they be about the same rate? The girl at XS told me the bar fine might have been less if I waited until later in the night. And are there Kazakh girls anywhere? There was one white girl in XS who tried getting my attention, but I wasn't interested but I never spoke to her to know where she's from.

Posts: 18757I usually leave Pattaya 3 hours before my flight and it takes 1 hour 15 minutes to get there.

Also, be aware that it's not necessary to be at the airport 3 or 4 hours before your flight departs. 2 to 2.5 hours is usually enough at Suvarnabhumi.

Posts: 2662It depends. Some girls like ST only, some girls are also doing LT.

But be prepared that LT can be quite boring. Most girls don't speak English very well, or they speak 'Thenglish' (English mixed with or heavily influenced by Thai), so it can be hard to keep up a conversation. Also, quite a lot of girls have never finished high school. Some haven't even finished primary school.

Posts: 766Since 2019, except for 2020-21 due to COVID, I have exclusively used TF to "wife up" for my holidays. My travel buddy and I rent a nice 2+ bedroom / 2+ bathroom private villa and find holiday girlfriends to attend to our every need in and out of bed for the entire time. Have never paid more than 2000 baht / day plus drinks, snacks, and meals, maybe buying the girl a gift shopping (nothing extravagant), and maybe a 2000-4000 baht tip at the end if she makes me very happy. Last time my buddy scored a gal who had been truly jonesing for BBC (he's black, I'm white, we're both 60+) and she turned out to be an enthusiastic 3-holer. As a hard and fast rule, we don't share.

Posts: 612Koozies? I thought every conceivable newbie question has been asked, but that's a new one. Yes, the bars supply the koozies. You can also ask for a glass of ice. I realize drinking beer over ice horrifies the purists, but don't knock it until you've tried it. You won't see this in Walking Street go go bars, or other places with air conditioning. But in open air beer bars it's common.

After a week at the beach you'll be ready for a change of scenery, and being in Bangkok puts you closer to the airport when it's time to fly out. Speaking of flying out, why are you planning to spend your final night in a hotel near BKK? Some guys think this is necessary because their flight departs at an odd hour. But you can get a "taxi meter" 24/7 in Bangkok, or book a car from Nam's Lady Drivers. Without traffic, the trip is 45 minutes at most. No need to stay out in the sticks and give up a night on the town.

Typical April fall off as low season is about to begin. (Now the "shoulder" season.) I don't think the war has as much to do with it as the world economy, insane pricing for sanuk, and the increasing recognition of internet connections available. Economy world wide is in the shitter; Vegas is empty also because of raping the visitors with increases in prices; folks have found alternate venues to explore.

Because anyone who lives here refuses to go in bars that supports YouTubers. Really the lowest of the low. Vermin invading peoples privacy.
