Saw quite a few videos of the girly bar complexes in Udon Thani like the Nutty, etc. , but also read somewhere that these bars that have girls available for ST are no longer competitive in terms of pricing compared to Pattaya anymore. Is this true? If the rates here are similar or even higher than ST rates in Pattaya, why waste the time and flights to come to Udon?

The prices in Udon, and also in Isaan pretty much anywhere, have never been as low as Pattaya for sex workers in bars or massage.

Udon and Isaan offer what are generally lower quality options that are available to people already there for other reasons, or tourists visiting for reasons other than mongering.

What can sometimes be well priced gems in the rough are options available on ThaiFriendly.

The girls in the bars there are available for those who are already in Udon for a variety of other reasons.

Udon has always been more expensive than Pattaya. Bangkok has always been more expensive than Pattaya.

Did you know that Phuket is more expensive than Pattaya?

I doubt very much there is much difference in price for a girl available for ST from a bar in Udon as compared to prices in Pattaya. But I also doubt very much that anyone would take the time and money to come to Udon specifically for mongering. The girls in the bars there are available for those who are already in Udon for a variety of other reasons.

I learned my lesson a long time ago when it comes to make sure who you get pregnant overseas. I got 2 children that lives in Issan and they been living there for a long time. It's still the same I talk to the mother of my children and my children. Farangs still build houses for prostitutes out there. I never built a ***** a house but it doesn't mean she didn't take my house.

Most Isaan villages are nearly empty of young women. There are a few, but they are loved up with a Thai man. When they get older, and have pumped out too many kids, the Thai man will disappear, leaving the (no longer) young lady destitute.

If you visit some random village alone, you are not going to find much action.

As I type this, I am sitting by the Mekong River, with Laos across the river (no bridge here).

There are some older ladies, but they are looking for a relationship, since they have sick buffaloes.

Overwhelmingly the majority of the hookers guys encountered in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Sumi come from here. It's been a extremely long time since I visited Issan. If my memory serves me correctly it'll be a place to settle down. You'll find plenty of money hungry Laos and Khmer women looking for some Farang to buy them a house, a backie for there little brother and build a house for their poor dad. And I'm pretty sure that won't never change. And also you'll have to give a monthly dowry to the mama, grandma, grandpa, papa and great grandparents too. Don't aspect them to won't a few dollars more like a few hundred dollars apiece.

Sure there is a shortage of young women in the villages available for a random visitor. But that is not who the short-time hotels cater for. They cater to the locals. You'd be surprised how many locals need somewhere private to go for their illicit liaisons. They are certainly there, if you know where to look.
And if not in the village itself, in the nearby small town you can be sure to find a few "curtain hotels" (where you park next to your room and a curtain is drawn behind your car for privacy and discretion).
I know because I've used them myself with different ladies in different provinces throughout Isaan.

All true, but the bottom line is there is little to no action for a monger in Isaan villages (unless you bring your own).

Next month, I will be visiting a small village that has a resort hotel, and will bring twins.

Fair enough, but the reader may decide how densely populated Isaan is with hotels using Google Maps and searching for "hotel" or "resort hotel". See all the red spots? The places I've been to were called resort hotels. It seemed like an interesting cultural feature, but I'm still learning.

I stay in resort hotels all the time. A large village may have one, outside of town. But they are not intended as a short time hotel.

Next month, I will be installing solar panels at a resort hotel. I will bring a lady from Pattaya. Nothing in the village.

It sure is indeed a very civilized culture. Almost every village, town and especially city has a plentiful supply of short-time hotels. All needs are well taken care of. I live in the far outer suburbs of Bangkok and in my area there are almost as many short-time hotels as there are 7/11s.

In Khon Kaen for one night and a Facebook ad popped up at 06:30 am for Chaba massage doing outcall to my hotel. The girl who showed up was the girl in the pics, but 10 years older, she said she was 40. However, what she lacked in youth she made up for in enthusiasm! The massage was 800 Baht and the extra fun was 3000.

I tried Tinder for one week before tiring of it. Lots of women available for "free" at ages 35 and up (of course, nothing is free in life), but though I am 50+ I was interested in 20's. After a lot of swiping and talking (side benefit: big improvement in my Thai language skills), I met two. One girl, age 20, announced on Tinder that she was a freelancer. I picked her up on a corner near her house in a small village and we went to a short-time hotel nearby. I gave her 3000, which was probably over-paying, but my strategy is to be generous to promote enthusiasm. Later, she texted me that she got banned from Tinder for allegedly selling dates, and she asked to see me again, but I didn't. The second girl, age 21, was more discreet online, nothing about money came up, but I did give her some (see below). I picked her up outside her Mom's house in a small town and we went to a restaurant for lunch. A very pretty girl, she said she had worked in a bar in Pattaya for a few months. After lunch I gave her 1000 Baht as a gift and in the car she put her hand on my leg and we kissed. She suggested a short-time hotel and we had a lot of fun. I gifted her an additional 3000 (so, a total of 4000). On the way back to her house she proposed that she become my mistress, that we take trips together, etc. Since then she has texted me that she loves me and misses me. She might make a good sugarbaby, but I'm not so sure, as she seems a bit weird. My impression is that short-time hotels (300 Baht for 3 hours) exist in many villages and small towns. The term "drink only girls" is taken from the Pattaya thread, but in Isaan I think it's the majority of girls in the hostess bars. I haven't bar-fined anyone in about 8 bar visits. These are girls who sit and talk with you while you buy them a drink for typically 150 Baht and they make about 90 Baht from that (it varies), but you can't bar-fine them. However, flirting is fun, you get a small dopamine hit talking to a pretty young girl, it's cheap, you practice your conversational Thai, and there's always the hope that she'll make an exception. I got phone numbers from two of these girls. One ignored me, and the other contacted me periodically for simple small talk until a couple months later she asked me for a loan to pay for a hospital and sent pictures of herself in a hospital bed. I politely declined and said I was sorry that she was ill.

There are various reasons they may be drink-only. The bars in Isaan have a small staff, so the bar manager maybe can't afford to let the girl leave the bar (be bar-fined), whereas in Pattaya there are plenty of staff to spare. I estimate the girls can make 4,000 to 8,000 Baht per month on ladydrinks, which is not too bad for this region. So, maybe they're happy with a modest income and to not have to do the dirty work? Of course, there's always the possibility that they don't like me, but I'm an optimist and assume that's not the case. We do have to be careful with these optimistic self assessments, though. Studies show that 84% of men think they are above average, which is impossible. But we men have to be optimistic, or nothing fun will ever happen. As for the other 16%, that's a sad bunch indeed.

You are describing Thai style bars, not just in Isaan, but all over Thailand. No short time rooms, no barfines. And yes, its possible to arrange to see a lady after hours. But most of the ladies aren't looking for pay for play, they are looking for a boyfriend or a job as a mia noi.
