Posts: 473IF is the biggest two letter word in the english language. If anything maybe just bang some rolas for a day and flight out later or the next day. You can even stash your bags at the airport and do a day trip.

Secondly regarding your look. YMMV. However, why not just give them the least ammount of reasons to even look. Lowering risk and managing expecations, that's what it all comes down to.

Posts: 89Well bad news is we already booked flights directly into Medellin. I am a white american and my wife is originally from Venezuela and obviously speaks fluent spanish. We were in Medellin a few months ago and just planned on saying we loved it and wanted to see more sights we didn't see last visit and chill and relax. Originally her mom was going to fly in and meet us but now can't. We were going to explain we were also visiting family. Well fingers crossed we don't have any issues! I will update here on what happens when we arrive.

Not that I look like a hip hop artist, but a normal dude wearing athletic pants, a graphic t-shirt, and slides. None of the guys that I have seen that were denied entry looked anything like the stereotypical hip hop artist. People are not judged by how they look, but their mannerisms and how they answer the questions.

I just wear shorts and a t-shirt with sneakers. They usually don't even ask any questions but if they do, just answer them in a respectful manner and it is all good. 99 percent of visitors don't have any issues. The stories you hear are a tiny percentage of visitors. I have heard that it was about 50 men for this year versus 10 million visitors which is 0.0005%.

Also, real talk if you are black they are targeting more it seems based on the articles I've seen. Dress nice, wear a button-up shirt and look presentable, don't do flip flops, shorts or busy graphic t shirts or anything that remotelly looks like a rapper or hip hop artist.
Look like you are there for business but you are there for vacation to get away from work but still have business attire.

Posts: 4496Aranjuez, Castilla, and Boston offer everything Bello does except a 30 to 60 minute traffic jam between it and Medellin.

Posts: 4496You need to have a high risk tolerance to ride motos around Medellin. Lives and limbs are lost on a daily basis. More likely is getting soaked in greasy road splash during frequent rain showers. Most likely is your hair will stink of cheap patchouli from the communal helmets. My advice is leave early in the interest of safety and comfort.

Saw this, but would like to know what casa were shut down so we can avoid them and update the map.
Anyone else want to chime in?
P.S. Imagine being there during a raid! Yowzer.

Posts: 176There are white Latinas all over Colombia, especially in Medellin. Perhaps not so much among the Centro streetwalkers, but definitely every other area and platform where you would be looking for chicas.

Posts: 1286Just look at YouTube videos of Parque Lleras and Centro Medellin and you will get a good cross section view of the type of girls in Medellin.

Yes, there are, but that look is more of a challenge to find in Colombia where the girls have more of a Latina look. Brazil is a far superior destination for girls with a European look as it is a much more diverse country. Argentina would also be a good choice. Same for Uruguay when it comes to the look, but I did not find that country to be up to par when it comes to mongering opportunities.
