Has anyone taken the Airport Express bus from Lima Airport? My flight arrives early in the morning around 5 am, and the earliest check-in my hotel can offer is 8 am. Instead of taking an Uber straight to the hotel and waiting in the lobby, I'm thinking of taking the Airport Express to get a local feel for the city first. I'll only have a carry-on (no checked luggage). Is this a safe and practical idea that early in the morning? Any tips or things I should be aware of?

English speaking hotels are very limited in Lince, I mostly use Google translate or just simple basic Spanish. English friendly hotels are either international chains or predominantly in touristy districts such as Miraflores.

I checked with Hotel Carrera in Lince which has a casino. They told me that if you book the room for two people, two guests are allowed to stay but both need to be registered, and visitors are allowed during daytime. I ended up choosing Hotel Quadrum nearby because the rooms are spacious, breakfast is included, and they offer early check-in which is perfect since my flight lands at 5 am.

The Tequila Rock location in Miraflores (located at Calle Ernesto Diez Canseco 146) is permanently closed. Their only active venue in Lima is located at the Breña district at Av. Brasil 902 but it's not the same.

Are you ok sitting in the car 2 hours in the morning and evening everyday?. Looks like there are not so many options available during the night, so need to use the day time as much as possible. With all these discussion, Lima doesn't compare well with other south americian cities.

I have never been in traffic for 2 hrs in Lima. I have always stayed in the Miraflores area. Occasionally, I might take a bus into Centro or Barrio Chino. But everything I need is in Miraflores including chicas. I get the appeal of the chongos, which is lower cost. But it's a volume business there. If that's your thing, that's fine. The appeal of being the 31st guy your girl has been with at the chongo for that day, is not appealing to me anymore. An older guy likes me need to work up to it. I have had nice experiences in Miraflores with hot girls, lower mileage and they come to my Airbnb. USD $100 or less. They spend an hour or more with you. Multiple shots, multiple positions, etc. A nice non rushed time. My budget allows me to bang 2 or 3 of these sort of chicas a day. I am fine with that. It's still great value compared to North America.

You may be right when you compare Peru to other countries. Colombia comes to mind. Colombians are better looking but mechanical, cold, to the point. If that is your morning style, you can get that in Lima's chongos for a fraction of the cost, however, if you like GFE and a bit more interaction, I wouldn't change a Peruana, still at a better cost.

Great advise. We always stay in Miraflores when in Lima. Have considered Barranco but no where else. Also will consider parts of Surquillo. Those parts adjoining Miraflores and a short walk to Parq Kennedy. Staying near a chongo just for the convenience is not really my cup of tea. With each shot about 15 min to 20 minutes, you got to be sucking on a Blue Pill all the time just to stay hard.

This is for everyone but I'm using this post. Don't take offense I'm just trying to help guys stay safe.

But as someone who lives here going on 2.5 years now, nobody should be staying outside Miraflores / barranco / San Isidro unless you have and carry a gun.

This isn't to scare people and it's not bullshit. Lima is extremely dangerous, much more than most other South American countries. There is just no reason to stay outside the safe zone.

Ubers and taxis are super cheap.

With the brothels and websites there is no reason to pick up chicks off the street, especially outside Miraflores (sometimes you see working chicks in pizza alley).

The risk is not worth the money and it's more expensive than the brothels.

Street chicks are disgusting you don't know their hygiene or who they work for and the risk of catching disease or being robbed or killed isn't worth it.

Idk who is giving advice to stay outside Miraflores but I don't know any credible site member here who would suggest that.

Don't be cheap, you're spending good money to fly here and to skimp on hotel or location to be closer to a brothel is stupid when a taxi is like $10 to brothel.

Seeking is a good site and some members here have friends to refer but it's usually $100-$150 for 1. 5 hours for a chick to come to your place. That's nothing compared to the USA or Europe so idk why guys come here spend all this money and stay outside Miraflores and look for street chicks.

Yes you may be safe most nights if you're lucky but the $50-100 total your saving isn't worth the risk.

Stop cherry picking info on here and use your brain to see what most people agree about and that's locations, don't stay outside Miraflores.

It's very easy to see who is gringo by how we dress and all it takes is one poor Peruano or group of them to see you as a target, especially if you're alone and frequent street chicks who many locals may know.

I live here and have my L1 pistol carrying protection card, I'm retired military, I do boxing and BJJ and I've been in dangerous places in the world and I still won't stay overnight or walk alone outside Miraflores.

It appears that Historic District has heavy congestion while entering and leaving the area. While it may be okay during the day, it definitely is sketchy and risky at night outside the main tourist streets.

Happy to hear you chose Peru for one of your trips, I too have picked Peru for my next trip.

Not a local so I don't have much more info apart from my time there. The area around the Sheraton and the hotel someone had mentioned (hotel San Agustin Riviera) is insanely busy with traffic. Also, during the day it's fine but as the evening progresses on, and for me when I did my walk here, it can feel a bit seedier and as a gringo I felt out of place the more I walked around looking for a SG. It was fun but if I was doing it each night I wouldn't be making it a priority to stay there. It has a much "safer" feeling in Miraflores along with a variety of places to eat and grab a drink without having that feeling. When I saw the traffic outside the Sheraton it was insane and I have no idea if you called an uber how long you'd have to wait for the car to go a few hundred meters, let alone after it's picked you up and then the driver has to re-negotiate out of it. Traffic just seems to stall in this area as I think it's a feeder into a bunch of different highways?? Personally I wouldn't do it but if you're up for the adventure then why not.

It really depends how do you source your companions and how you spend your day time. Street action at Risso should start at the end of business hours but in practice it starts when dark falls. There is nothing much to do in Lince. Zepita at least has some action from lunch time, but again everything is during night time. Given your two choices I would still opt for Lince. Miraflores is the best area to stay for the first visit.

Thank you. I ended up booking a hotel in Lince. I didn't want to ignore your advice, or the advice of so many others, regarding the safety concerns and traffic around the Historic District. Lince seems like the perfect compromise. It still has a decent nightlife and plenty of street activity, while also being a bit closer compared to Miraflores to the northern chongos.
