So they arrested 25 women in total, on a Saturday night on Beach Road, Second Road, and in other public areas. Wow, I'm impressed LOL. There must have been hundreds of women standing there, so it's just a drop in the ocean.

I spent on lady drinks too. The girl said 2000 baht is bar fine and 4000 baht short time. I refused to pay so much and came out.

Gogo bar named Harem: Total rip off. The girls are only 8 and that is it. Same prices for entry 200 baht + 100 baht beer + lady drink 250 baht. They literally know they are scamming you and just want to bore you with same girls. Gogo Bars like this should not exist.

The girls at Chick are not nude. There are 2 topless shifts and one with tops on. Based on my experience, the only Thai lady gogos in Walking Street with fully nude girls (don't know anything about the Russian ones as I have never been in one) are the 2 Windmill clubs (and apparently Electric Blue, which is next to them, althouigh I have not been to this one so cannot confirm).

Harem normally has two topless shifts and one top on shift of about 10-12 girls each.

This is nothing more than a show by the Pattaya officials, Historically Beach Road has always been the problem no matter who comes doing the raid is just to elliminate any potential problem. This action just forces if they actually do visit to places Like Soi 6, WS. Where it is still illegal but legal at the same time! LOL! PATTAYA - Police and human security officials arrested Thai, Lao and Ugandan women for alleged street prostitution on Saturday night, only days ahead of the arrival of about 5,000 crew and marines aboard a US navy strike group.

Does anyone honestly believe the sweep of prostitutes was for "street prostitution"? That they were caught actually fucking and sucking customers in exchange for money right there on the Beach Road sidewalk? Lolol.

This is obviously another example of lazy or poorly translated phrasing of what prostitutes in Thailand are almost always swept up for in public places. Not "for prostitution", of course, but for being seen openly and shamelessly soliciting for prostitution in a public place.

The video report of the sweep posted previously got it right. Twice. Once at around the 0:12 mark and again at around the 2:10 mark; "They (Pattaya City and Chonburi) have affirmed solicitation in public areas is against Thai law" and "Pattaya City Police and the Chonburi Ministry of Social Development and Human Security recently conducted a sweep to crackdown on solicitation along Pattaya Beach, 2nd Road and other high risk public areas to clearly demonstrate that Thailand strictly enforces laws against public solicitation.".

Why aren't they concerned about demonstrating that Thailand strictly enforces laws against, you know, discreetly agreeing to and engaging in prostitution between consenting adults?

Because nobody has ever found a law forbidding that in Thailand. Nor has anyone been arrested for it in Thailand. Nor has anyone been jailed for it in Thailand. Nor has anyone been punished for it under the law in Thailand.

It's the same old, same old laws against certain prostitution-related behaviors for which there are several citations and sections written in Plain Language in the Thai Penal Code and Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act of 1996 subject to arrest and punishment and not for consenting adults age 18 or older merely discreetly agreeing to exchange money for sex and then discreetly engaging in that behavior in private, for which there are no laws or citation of a crime subject to arrest or punishment written in Plain Language, Complicated Language or any other language anywhere in any legally enforceable Code or Act in Thailand.

Narrator, getting it right about exactly what the infraction is for which the police were conducting the prostitution sweeps. Twice, in fact. The 20-strong team detained 18 Thai women, five Lao women and two Ugandan women along Pattaya beach, Pattaya Sai 2 Road and other public areas on Saturday night and charged them with street prostitution.

Janjira Thaibundit, social development and human security chief in Chon Buri, said the arrested women were fined and later released. The action reflected enforcement of the law against street prostitution, which is illegal, and was also aimed at preventing minors being drawn into the street trade, she said.
