Over the summer, I told ChatGPT some of the things that are important to me as I want to start being a bit more nomadic around LATAM. Monterrey came VERY high up on the list of cities based on the things that are important to me. Along with a few others in Mexico.

Posts: 176I have been keeping my fingers crossed that we'll eventually get back to 5,000, LOL. I hadn't started traveling to Colombia yet back then, so I didn't get to enjoy that.

One Mexican city that I think is even nicer than Medellin in Monterrey. And it has better food too haha! That said, Medellin blows Monterrey away when it comes to the "talent", if you know what I mean:

Posts: 94Medellin really is a nice city
I've been here a week, and I have to say, I really enjoy the place. I haven't been mongering much at all. Although I did have an 18 yo Psychology major from Bucaramanga yesterday. I really do need to post some reports.

But, I do enjoy the pace of the city, the weather is great of course. I'm here mostly for medical stuff, so I've found myself in traffic during rush hours (morning, lunch and evenings), and I can't say that the traffic is terrible, compared to most places I've been. Like you won't get stuck for 2-3 cycles at a traffic light as an example.
Colombian food definitely isn't great, though. But there's lots of restaurants that serve other stuff so there's that. Trade-offs.
Besides how green the entire city is, I've been really impressed by how clean it is. Compared to most places I've been in the developing world, the streets are generally clean.
It's also only taken me a single week to understand why people here really fucking hate creep cams in El Centro, and bad behavior at Parque Lleras.
I've seen guys here say "Colombian people are proud", in a condescending kind of way. What I've seen is that the vast majority of people here are just decent people going on about their lives. I don't see a lot of social chaos: people queue up to use the ATM, or to pay for stuff at the store. They don't speaking loudly indoors. Are generally polite. Even the fucking motos are at a reasonable noise level! Having just left Santo Domingo where motos give you a headache, here you'll be surrounded by dozens on the roads and it isn't an unbearable racket.
Overall, you get the sense that Colombians aspire to live more sophisticated and classy lives than their country's economic reality can match. You simply cannot say that about most poorer countries. So it's easier to understand why they wouldn't take too kindly for their city / country to be depicted as some open air brothel. My other post was about how mature they are about sex, overall. Which I think a lot of guys take to mean that the entire place is a meat market and they can behave poorly with no consequence.
All of this kind of contrasts with how brutal and ruthless their criminal element is. It's a real dichotomy.
For what it's worth, I'm staying in Belen, where there's a more working class vibe. Not a lot of foreigners, or wealthy locals.

The ocean in Baja is as good as anywhere on the west coast. Ymmv alas the women in Baja do not compare to Colombia. Again, ymmv but If anyone has checked into the casa sites on catador Colombia the prices start around $60. Legit. You can spend more. If you are comfortable NOT going to a bar. Lounge or club. It's amazing, time consuming (slightly dangerous) but the talent is thru the roof. Lleras park not so much. Any comments?

Also price wise even with the weak dollar. A helluva better value than Tijuana.
HK prices are on avg $120+ and the prices I have seen at the nicer Casas and half that.

Posts: 291No comparison. Medellin is the best I've seen and I've been to many places in Mexico, carribeans, central America.

It's no competition! Colombian women are so much more attractive, at least to my discriminating eye they are. And Medellin is a much nicer city than Tijuana is. That's my view of it anyway. That view is not held by absolutely everyone, but I do not hesitate to say that it's the strong majority viewpoint shared among most.

Posts: 168I'm not saying we'll get back to 4000 COP, but it was 3500 just a few months back. I also think Colombia's new president will hurt the economy. He's a huge fan of our president and will implement a lot of the same BS that has been hurting the US economy. Look at Argentina, they elected a similar president and while their economy had a small boost after he took office, it's been trending downwards since.

Posts: 8People here noted that it's hard to get a genuine three way in Medellin as one girl will just fuck you while the other watches her phone and it's not too much interaction between the girls. I tried twice, once with a girl I've seen multiple times who was super agreeable to everything and super enthusiastic about sex in general, and both times it was exactly as people warned here. One girl would fuck me, the other would watch, maybe a little light kissing or half hearted pussy licking in the background. And this was after me really emphasizing in Spanish that I wanted a three way and not just watching along. I concluded that's just the culture here. If you try, hope you have better luck.

Posts: 473Facts, the value add for Colombia was the cheap flight and weak peso, now it's better to go to Rio and yes the girls there will take it in their face for.

We won't need a decade. We just need to get the current morons out and return some sensible adults to the room. And we can see a bounce in the right direction well before then.
