I am on a quick trip to Phu Quoc with 2 ladies. They both have Farang "boyfriends " so they can only travel with another lady.

JI have always believed the ladies & clubs were pretty mercenary about these things, but my historical experiences were not so bad that I felt like I was watching my wallet 24/7.

A brief review on my posting history about the legal status of prostitution in Thailand (it is not legal) shows that the girls should be mercenary about it. It is their job to sell drinks. They have quotes to fulfill if they want to earn their full salary for the month. I have known many bar girls and their life is NOT easy. But bar owners have overhead and they are in it to make a profit. The independent contract game is played in order for the owners of prostitute establishments to have deniability about the type of operations they really run and avoid pay benefits to employees. Some establishments in Pattaya the girls have a weight requirement. The cannot gain more than a certain amount of weight during their contract. So, the girls are driven by the greed of the bar owners. Some places charge up to 220 THB / Lady Drink. Minimum wage in Pattaya for one day (that is right my brother for an entire day) is 400 THB. Hypothetically, one lady drink should buy me 4 hours of the bar girls time. We all know that in reality that is not true. One of the things I use in my decision making process is how long it takes a girl to finish her drink. If she, she finishes too fast, I think that is a bad sign for how the in room experience might go. I have NEVER had a bad bar fine experience since I've been posted up in Pattaya, Thailand.

Of course, I do segregate my cash that I use for drinks, from my cash for taking the lady out, just to reduce the amount of cash visible at any given time.

Always a good idea not to flash cash or run around with a 2 baht chain hanging around your neck with Gold at over 68,000 THB / baht. I think it is good time to accumulate gold. In plain language this is not a financial recommendation.

Fair play to Khun Fake It, central Pattaya does sometimes require running a gauntlet. The main problem, it seems to me, is that there is very little separation between pedestrians and motor vehicles. During the day it's pretty easy to walk on the shoulder of a road and avoid traffic. But at night I concede it's a challenge.

No challenge. Just the way it is. But I understand the mentality of a visitor. When I was initially a visitor I felt the same way. Now that I have been posted up here more than a minute it's no big deal. No problem for short walks. Longer trips down Soi Buakhao just hop on the Baht Bus or a Bolt Moto Taxi.

I was back in town for 90 days earlier this year for the first time since 2019 and it felt like the drivers on Soi Buakhao were more aggressive, and there were more obstacles along the roadside. (Pushcarts mostly.) I also saw LOTS of impatient scooter drivers getting around traffic jams by driving on the wrong side of the road, or on the shoulders where pedestrians were walking. That said, once you get off Soi Buakhao it's much better. Sois Diana, Honey, Made in Thailand, Lengkee & Chaiyapoon all have traffic. But they are far safer for pedestrians.

I think Soi Buakhao has always been crazy at night. Just the way it is.

As for Khun Fake It's preferred separation from the naughty boy scene, I take his point. That's why I don't stay near Walking Street, Soi 6 and Soi Bong Koch 8.

Completely disagree. When I stay in Central Pattaya I pick my stabbin cabin location close to the place I plan to focus my action. I have never had a problem finding a side Soi that had a nice place and was quiet. It is simply a matter of knowing the lay of the land. I have posted the locations of all my stabbin cabins. As for longer stays I simply have no comment. I can personally say I don't post up long term in Central Pattaya. But if I was on vacation I would NOT want to post up where I currently do.

But I would submit that Central Pattaya has plenty of options for the average person on holiday. There are endless bars where you can drink in peace without getting hustled for lady drinks -- some with live music, some with pool or darts and some with sport on the TVs. There are markets and hawker stalls. There are sit down restaurants. There is shopping and at The Avenue a cinema.

I would submit that if you want to do regular activities there are a ton of them you can do that are outside of Tourist Central and it costs less than 200 THB by Bolt Taxi to get to them. Once again learning the lay of the land is important.

In closing, I don't think it's fair to describe central Pattaya as "just sex business all the time."

Bangkok is a nightmare when it comes to transportation. There is no rush hour. There is congestion all day. You better position yourself right in that city if you want to have an enjoyable visit. I prefer walking. That why I prefer Pattaya. It is walkable or you can use the baht bus or Bolt. I will will even hop on a motorbike taxi during high traffic because they can lane split.
If by vibrant you mean expensive, yes that is Bangkok. But they do have stores and restaurants they don't have in Pattaya. Along with sex venues that open at 0900. I like that. The girls are prettier. But they also cost between 33 - 100% more. Girls ask 3000 for short time in Bangkok. I can get them down to 2000 on Thai Friendly. My regulars do long time with me for 3000. So, for me I am happy to have such a great city like Bangkok less than 2 hours from me. My flow and my stack would not allow me to live there. But it is a great place to visit for 3 or four days. After that I have had enough. Did I mention that Bangkok has no beach? ROTFLMAO!

I liked Phuket myself. I thought it was a good balance between Bangkok and Pattaya. Of course, it didn't hurt that there I met and sessioned twice with one of the most beautiful women I have seen anywhere in the world. I still think of her as the Thai "Jennifer Anniston" (but with dark hair) hahaha! That pooying was fine!
