To simulate the experience of walking out of "Swampy" in early November, preheat your oven to 400 F, then open the oven door. In late November, preheat to 200 F. Once the weather "breaks", USUALLY in early November, there's a breeze so you'll still sweat the same, but at least there's a breeze to cool you via evaporation. Earlier, you just walk around "damp", then FREEZE when you walk into an air-conditioned establishment. And yes, some of us walk. (AMP VIP treatment: on arrival, she points you to the shower while taking your shirt to hang outside to dry).

There will still be rain, but storms are usually bursts, and move through within an hour or 2. Just cause to book 90 minutes, rather than 60, at the AMP's.
To feel really clean, I'm a strong proponent of salt-tapping, via MP up on Thong Lor, Soi 55, around soi 6, Misaki Akasuri Spa, previously known as Sakura Akasuri.

Just the basic RTFF, UTFSE. ROD'S (Reports of Distinction) good place to start for posts; there's a reason they're there. There is a hotel thread.

You can read while taking breaks from writing the "promised" FR's...

Posts: 11Tips for first timer in BKK
Hello fellow mongers,
I am staying in Dubai, originally from India. I really love Asians and met many in Dubai but I find it even better if I directly go to the source. So was thinking to do a small trip to BKK in few days.
I'm really looking forward to BBFSCIP but with safe (r) options. Any idea where to stay, how to find freelancers who can be open for BBFSCIP? Any scams or warning I should be aware of?
Really appreciate if you can share existing info posts for first timers or if you have tips for latest situation over there.

Posts: 2659I don't know if the AOT Shuttle Bus is part of the public transport system. It's a free shuttle service between Suvarnabhumi airport and Don Muang airport.

Most large cities with extensive public transportation have apps that are very useful for planning. A quick search suggests that there is a Bangkok City Metro apps.
My own experience with these is that sometimes I have to navigate using the app and "google maps", but the app will usually allow you to pay, and track the location of buses and trains.

I was in Bangkok couple times in Nov, Dec time frame. Weather was nice, cool, dry, no rain.
I was impressed that even in poor areas in Bangkok East side, streets were very clean, but trucks were spraying water to wash dirt down the drain.

Posts: 2659Last time I took it was in 2017, when I went to Laos. No problems at all with this shuttle bus. Everything went fine.

Posts: 2659Relatively cool and dry, with occasional showers. Just google 'average temperatures in thailand by month'.

But some days it did not get warmer than 24 degrees Celsius in the day time.

Posts: 263Suvannabhumi airport to don muang airport
Things change, so.
Any recommendations on transportation from BKK to DMK?
See there is a free AOT Shuttle Bus, anyone tried it recently?
Flying to Phnom Penh this week, initially had all my connections being thru Suvannabhumi. However, Cambodia Ankor Air cancelled / shifted their flight day / time on my outgoing leg and now I just had to book the late afternoon Asia Air flight out of DMK.
Last resort / back-up option, I'll just take a Grab.

Sep 28 2026 Youtubes show Bangkok heavily flooded, some areas up to cars' roof line. Locals said this flood is worse than the last big one in 2011.
Glad I delayed my Asia tour to Nov.
