Posts: 26Heading to Pattaya in Nov last week
Indian origin guy from Boston. Heading to Pattaya Nov 23-29 on trip 20. I've been there many times over the years, mostly as a solo traveler, and looking to meet some laid-back people who enjoy good conversation, exploring the nightlife, checking out night clubs, music, bars, and whatever else the week brings.

Posts: 1058It sounds as if you are dealing with incompetants here as booking a ride is easy for me.

About 24 hours before the booking you get another email telling you who your diver will be with details so you cannot go wrong. You meet their rep at gate 3. They contact the driver to pick you up or they take to wherever the driver is waiting. 90 minutes later you walk into your hotel.

Day 1 in Pattaya.
I checked into the Azure Hotel around 10:00 PM. My room has a balcony facing the street, right in front of a massive construction site. After a quick shower and a glance over my notes, I headed straight out to Lips Lounge. Oh boy.
The place is small, with a tiny stage and a few seats. There were about 10 girls working, including the waitresses. When I walked in, an older gentleman was already getting a double blowjob from two ladies. Within a couple of minutes, I had four girls taking turns sucking my dick for 500 baht each. The whole thing lasted about 30 minutes, and I bought some ladies drinks while they worked on my dick I came in one of their mouths, cleaned up, and left.
Next, I headed over to Hunny Lounge, which wasn't too far away. Upstairs, I got a pretty mediocre blowjob for 700 baht. Afterward, I walked down to Beach Road all the way down to Walking Street, and eventually made my way back to the hotel.
I'm definitely not new to mongering, but the sheer volume of options here is overwhelming. It's hard to even know how to choose.

Posts: 2200For me, the easiest to hardest way to get from BKK airport to Bangkok or Pattaya is:

I've never used bus service in Thailand. Only used mini bus service a few times. Meh.
Don Mueang airport is a different matter. Their taxi system has you take a ticket as you go into a waiting room and watch a screen for your number to appear. Then, you go to a front lectern and meet your driver. I've averaged waiting in that room over an hour at DMK. It's bad enough that I'll pay extra to take domestic flights into Suvarnabhumi instead of Don Mueang. When I fly a girl from the provinces to meet me in Bangkok, I'll pay extra for her to fly into Suvarnabhumi.

Posts: 5455It's common for posters to complain that bargirls don't look like they used to. Which is true.
But, I have seen some bars with old style bargirls (young and slim), being ignored by customers in favor of big tit MILFs.
For me, I crave variety. One night wrestling with big tits, the next, some young thing.

Posts: 31My experience with pickups is not bad either. They are usually at the arrival floor between gates 3 and 4, no need to go up and down. You'll find your name posted on a board, you point to it and they will give you a paper with your car plate number. You go outside in the street and wait until your driver comes in that car, typically in 5-15 minutes depending on traffic. You wave to him, show him the paper, board and off you go.

Posts: 1058Yes, some bars are streaming and it's driving away customers. Soi 6 is changing for the worst, Nightwish ruined the quiet street where you could have a drink and descrete fun in the early afternoon, now new bars have come in with bright LED screens opening and closing later. As Walking Street looks more like a Bombay street, the old customers are looking at Soi 6 as a replacement so now Buakhao is becoming more popular There is crazy demands for 10 lady drinks before a short time, girls are making large commissions on drinks that they don't go upstairs anymore. And there are bars that have their own livestreams and welcome regular streamers.

I am spending more time in the Gentlemens Clubs, mainly around Soi Bonkot 8, they are like the Soi 6 bars of 15 years ago. I visit just two bars on aoi 6, a few on Soi Honey and then around Buakhao.

Posts: 513While a lot of the taxi drivers will try and rip you off a bit on price from the airport, I think it's a small price to pay for the convenience when you consider the bigger picture of how much you are likely to spend on your trip on booze and woman alone! I really don't get why some guys get so het up over a few hundred Baht. The ease and speed of getting a taxi at the airport over a Grab or even an arranged pick-up surely makes up for it.

If the App says 10 minutes away, that can quickly turn into 30 minutes or more. I've also seen drivers cancel more frequently too, which puts you back to square one again. Overall I think Grab at the airport can quickly turn into a stress inducing frustration!
I've done arranged pick-up / transfers too. It can be false economy as well. You usually have to go down and find a particular person at the main doors, but they usually work for an agency. Then after going backwards and forwards with paperwork or emails, they end up sending you somewhere else (maybe up 4 or 5 floors) to go and wait for a driver. The last time, he gave me the completely wrong car details. Then the agency and driver spent 20 minutes arguing amongst themselves. I could have nearly walked into BKK!

Posts: 2882The Bolt or Grab prices might not include the tollways. You may end up having to give the driver some cash at each passage.

Posts: 80Thanks for replies! What would people suggest if plans instead called for going from Sukhumvit to Pattaya? Is Nam's still in the mix, or are there any other reputable reasonably priced suggestions, or just stick with Grab or Bolt?

Posts: 809What's up with all the live streaming from bars in Pattaya these days?
The fates have not let me back in Thailand in recent times, to grab my fix of Thai chicks I just watch the livestreams of the bargirls from bars in Pattaya. Then it just hit me, the more I look around at the bars that the chicks are in, be it Valentine in Soi 6, or any others in different sois, they seem to have a genuine lack of customers. I'm kinda baffled by that.
Are we at a point where most of these bars are functionally broadcast studios now, where they exist as a space for the chicks to dance to the internet, while weird dudes around the world with more cash than sense, pay for invisible lady drinks with real cash, just watching online? Such that actual customers in the bar itself are ignored or just get discouraged that they don't bother to go in?
What the heck is happening? Do all the bars in Pattaya go livestreaming now? Have I become that old already? Holy cow.
What about bars in TreeTown or Soi Made in Thailand? What's going on?

When using a taxi at BKK you pull a ticket from a machine that gives you the space number where your taxi is parked. Just across the driveway from where you get into your taxi is a Grab stand. On my last trip to Pattaya from BKK, I checked the Grab price to Pattaya and it was about B250 cheaper. That's not always the case but I think it is worth checking the Grab price if you are planning to take a regular taxi there.
