Thanks for the info! I had no idea this app was a thing. This would have saved me a headache on my trip last year. I was meeting with a new friend in Laureles and after meeting in a little restaurant we went to a nearby motel but they refused me service because I have an American passport. They told me no foreigners, that has never happened to me in Colombia before or anywhere in south or central America though it has happened in Japan a couple times. If I had this app I could have tried to find another one instead of having to drive all the way back to my airb&be in Poblado in the middle of traffic hour haha. I'm visiting in a few weeks so if I find myself in this situation again I will put this app to good use so thanks!

I agree with you gents. As I get older I don't need to pop daily either. But in some ways this makes a stay in MDE (and many other places in Latin America) a bit challenging because for me in MDE, once you've already seen Comuna 13, Parque Arvi, gone to Guatape, there's nothing else really in the city that interests me so risk of boredom sets in. Sure I can take walks, check out the food scene and all that but heck, I can do those things at home too, plus the food scene in Latin America (with Peru as the exception) isn't that great anyway. I've been finding that Latin America is a big contrast to Asia where even when I'm not mongering, there are tons of things in Asia that can keep me busy. So an extended stay in Asia for me is way easier than one in Latin America which is kind of unfortunate for me since like many of you, getting to Latin America is a lot easier than flying halfway around the world to Asia.

That says to me that you aren't practicing what you preach. If you're a gringo paying double in Manizales, then you're contributing to that market getting fucked. Well, maybe not since it's a place that hasn't been infested with gringos (yet), and one guy won't fuck up an entire hoor market by himself by overpaying. But at the very least, you're getting yourself fucked in a way you don't want to be. Paying double! Now that you have this knowledge, what are you going to do about it? If you continue to pay double, you're the one getting fucked over.

Going to have to disagree here. The majority of pricing is based on the local market. Theres no way all the weekend millionaires can fuck enough girls to really move the market. I'll bet you that same girl who asks for $200 usd from you fucks 10 of the local colombian for half that. Maybe less. Because there just aren't that enough men who are willing to come to Colombia to pay that much. There are better options.
