There are so many incidents where end result is the non-thai gets beaten to bloody pulp by 10-20 thais popping out of nowhere. You got lucky she didn't had any "brothers". Thai's don't give rats ass whether you are elderly, differently abled, autistic or poor, they will beat the shit out of you if you get in the way of their money. These guys that got beaten in the street are mostly drunk guys, or behaved bad in the first place, or had an argument with any kind of mafia (taxis, Ladyboys.).

And it's very unlikely that a hooker would come back with some kind of "brothers" because her customer didn't give her a tip. Especially with that amount of money that he gave her.

So we are supposed to pay whatever they asked for? Do you know that she was asking for 3000 for tips after a very bad session? Is that robbery?

I never saw any violence mentioned in this thread, and generally Thai are peaceful. Where do you get the idea that 20+ Thai brothers beat somebody in the hotel? Are you talking about Columbia or some south american countries? No you're not supposed to and you did well by not giving her any tip.

You should have taken all her stuff and thrown it outside of your room.

If you are paying 7 K short time in Bkk then definitely she would have upsold anal for 3 K, maybe she was not able to get it through that sales pitch due to her broken Thai English. You are already a ldop so 3 K extra isn't highway robbery.

I think he's been scammed by paying 7 K to a freelancer, but why would he still give her 3 K for nothing? He did right by not giving her, he even should have thrown her away himself without having any problem.

... And it's very unlikely that a hooker would come back with some kind of "brothers" because her customer didn't give her a tip...well . . . I had a similar incident many years ago. I threw out a "non-performing" (at least for me) out of my room with "taxi money", because I was not willing to pay for bad service. She didn't came back with her pimp or someone similar, but with the police. So I had to deal with a furious girl and some police officer in the middle of the night right in the hotel lobby. In the end we were forced to compromise by the officer, but if things had turned out bad I could have ended up in a cell at some police station at Sukhumvit area. Much later I realised that was kind of lucky that night.

Never again I will let something like this happen to me.

In this case, I already paid her before the deed, and she wanted another 3 k in tips after a very bad session. I am not paying that and that's what everybody should do, right?I don't pay any 3k tip, like I don't pay 7k ST and sure never pay in advance, I always interview my girl in advance and tell her what service I want and agree on price, always pay at the end of the session, never had a problem in 11 years in Thai.

I am also confused what you are trying to tell me. I don't try to tell you nothing! You wrote that thai are peaceful, so the videos show that thai people arent too much peaceful, a group of thai can beat a farang for trivial reasons or for few baht.
I never needed to call security in a hotel and I hope I never need it. Security It should help the client in case of need, but in Thailand they dont always stand to customer's side.
Always try to avoid problem in Thailand and never argue with thais for money, but at the end up to you, you can always try your luck and punch her in the face (as you wrote before).

Police don't give a shit about a non-thai and as long as they get their cut they will be silent. So stay safe, stay out of arguments and most importantly fix the price with all needed menu before taking FL to room.

The fact that this even make the news in Thailand shows thais are generally peaceful. I bet most people wouldn't dare to walk in the night in most down town part of the cities in South America, USA and Europe now.

I don't want to argue about this but one incident like this is not convincing that Thais are not peaceful in general.

Regarding the scam I kinda agree that 7 k is a ripoff and it will come with trouble. That's the price I pay as a newbie to Thailand.

I have stayed in several hotels in the area between Soi 23 and 31 but mostly in hotels costing over $60 a night. With the taxes RTC I end up quite a bit for 4 nights.

Do you guys have any recommendations for any nice hotels in this area costing below $50 for a night? Obviously hotel must be very clean, quite and girl friendly?

Thank you in advance for any recommendations.

Thank you in advance for any recommendations. There are 2 that I know of near Nana BTS. Icheckinn and Aspira. Both on Soi 7/1. Aspira is nearly new and pretty nice for the money. I have not stayed at Icheckinn but no doubt reviews are in this thread if you search. As for Asoke, sorry I cannot help you. Soi 7/1 is right next to Nana BTS so you could get to Asoke for small money and even a taxi should not be more than 40 baht as long as you only take a meter taxi. Maybe someone else can get you right near Asoke.

Near Asok station, I would select a hotel on Soi 19. Depending on the time of year may be well under $50 US. Also Red Planet on Soi 14. There's always Ruamchit above Thermae.

Booked the Ambassador for six nights last May; stayed one night and left. It's shit-hole! AC only blew room temp air and couldn't be lowered, there was no TP in the bathroom and the bathroom was full of mold. And that was an "upgraded" room on the 21st floor. Went on Hotels.com and switched to the Dynasty Grande, which was a good move, 100% better hotel.I'm a bit surprised to see all this bad press on Ambassador. I stayed there a couple of times over the last month and it was fine, one stay was also on the 21st floor of the tower wing. I have mold allergies so I took a careful look for visible mold, on my 2nd visit I found a very small amount on the shower head and also near the toilet. I called the front desk and within minutes housekeeping was there taking care of the problem and they continued to work with 2 housekeepers for about 20-30 minutes.

If others say Dynasty Grande is 100% better, I'll try that next time.

Nana area is a bit too hectic for me. I see few hotels near Asok station to pretty much Soi 31 that seem to fit the bill. Has anyone stayed at these and can confirm if they are nice clean and girl friendly?

Amora Neo Luxe.

Nida rooms on soi 31.

Euro grande S31.

Mr Sea.

Aspira G Soi 33.

Also a punter mentioned FAH hotel in Silom. If GF seems like a nice place for a night or two. Please let me know if any of above hotel is recommended.

Hello everyone,

I have read over six pages of the forum and used the search feature but was unable to find the info I needed.

I am looking for a hotel in Bangkok with an arrangement like VT6 in Pattaya, where I can completely bypass reception, not have to give in my key when leaving or returning, and not having to register any guests I will be having. Complete freedom like an apartment. I don't mind it being a little far from Nana Plaza but the closer the better.

Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? Not sure why you have to bypass reception, but I have to suspect you want something that cannot be mentioned here. When I stayed at Admiral Premier, the reception was totally uninterested in my guests, but the behavior cannot be guaranteed to still be the same under the new government.

Silq in Suk Soi 19 it was possible to enter elevator and skip reception, when I stayed there. Again cannot guarantee current rules. You could ask the hotels directly if checking girls IDs, nationality, age, etc. Is manadatory in the current political climate.

I can see that renting an apartment could overcome the rules. Not sure if security guards are ever checking anything about guests.

Not sure why you have to bypass reception, but I have to suspect you want something that cannot be mentioned here. .That may be true but not necessarily. My last trip to Pattaya I met several mongers who said they felt self-conscious taking a lady to reception for ID in front when other foreigners, usually women, are there. They didn't like the "judgment" stares. Personally, I could care less if they stare. I don't know them and will never see them again.

I definitely have Hotels that I designate as for mongering purposes where the only reputation that matters is that you are a good customer.

I don't feel the walk of shame when there are so many customers with young Thai ladies for one reason or another. I would be much more self conscious if was with a ladyboy or a girl obviously too young. Hypothetical since I don't do that.

If staying with GF, I choose a different Hotel.

How many families are staying in Hotels very close to Nana Plaza and why? Taking a girl back to your room late at night, you are not likely to encounter families with young kids.

I do recall having the hots for a receptionist at Dynasty Grande some years ago, but out of my league, especially, having been seen with hookers. The staff would not be allowed to fraternise with guests in any case, even if there was the slightest chance they wished to (no chance in hell).

I have heard of Farangs marrying girls working at the Hotel they stayed at in Pattaya, but that was definitely Farangs not with hookers. I don't think it is common.

SL.Talk about to register the girl, I have a question. Do you guy walk to the front desk to request them to register the girl or they will require you or the girl to register. Last time I was in BKK, stayed in Doubletree by Hilton. At about 3 am, I bought a girl back to hotel and I thought I should bring the girl to the front desk, as we were walking toward the front desk, the lady behind the desk turned away from us. There were no other guest in the entire lobby. As I did not plan to do long time, I just walk away with my girl from the front desk and went to the elevator. They seems do not care.

Talk about to register the girl, I have a question. Do you guy walk to the front desk to request them to register the girl or they will require you or the girl to register.Registered guests and joiners are two different things.

Registered guests are officially staying at the hotel. The hotel has their name registered to the room. They have signing privileges (charge things to the room) and can request room access, ect.

Joiners are visitors at the hotel. They are visiting a registered hotel guest. Leaving ID lets the hotel know the joiner is on the property and which room they are likely in.

Hotels have different joiner policies, and handle joiners differently. Some physically keep their ID and some make a copy. Some will do this at the front desk or at the security station which can be located at the elevator bank. They will check the ID to see if it is real, and that the lady is age appropriate for their policy. Some hotels will restrict the number of joiners, the hours they can visit, ect. Some are quite strict on their policies, and some are quite lax.

Jb.There are no fixed rules. Some hotels require all to be registered, some take the ID card and give it back when she leaves, some make a copy of her ID only, and some allow everyone in without any checking. And sometimes it depends not as much on the hotel rules but on the reception staff.

Personally, I always bring her to the reception desk and at the very least reception checks her ID.

Also can depend a lot on the time. At T21 hotel for example they usually don't bother before 8 PM. 8 pm-11/12 they usually ask discreetly if 'everything okay sir'? Afterwards they usually want you to leave her ID at reception. But they are nice about it. As it's a big hotel It's less awkward then some other small ones.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Its not that I have something to hide, nor is it the hotel staff, as this type of activity is normal in BKK and how they stay in business. One of the reasons is as Syzgies mentioned, there are so many families in these hotels, and I know people are different, but for me I'm just not comfortable with it, especially the next morning during breakfast. Why a family would vacation with young children in Soi 4 is beyond me.

The main reason is because the world is now truly a global village and I'd hate to run into someone I know who is there for vacation or for the same reasons as me while I'm waiting to register my guest. Also, so many people are now making youtube videos of their experiences and in this digital age I would hate to be caught in one of them, don't see how they can't see making these vids public can be very problematic.

Having stayed at VT6 in Pattaya, though it is more than what I need and more pricey than I would like to pay, the peace of mind I get with a quick and discreet in and out is worth the extra cost.

Thanks again, will be looking at Silq and Shama.

No balconies unfortunately, but I'm staying this trip at Sukhumvit Suites Hotel, right at the corner of Asok and Sukhumvit (near one of the Asok BTS entrances). Very convenient for Soi Cowboy and just a short walk from some other nearby attractions. Nana is easily walkable, but might be a bit far to walk if taking a lady back to your room unless she's willing to walk the 10-12 minutes and cross 2 main streets (Asok and Sukhumvit), so a cab or tuk-tuk might be a better choice in that case.

Nice hotel. I got the larger suite with a sitting area and separate bedroom. Good sized bathroom etc. Also, very girl friendly. Haven't had any issues bringing girls back. The elevator is right inside the door on the 1st floor, but reception is on 2nd. There is usually but not always a security guard or other person at the door / 1st floor sitting area, but have never had a problem just going to the elevator and going to floor 3 and directly to my room. I forget the rate I paid, but it was reasonable at < $100 USD per night.

Thanks.Booking.com allows you to enter your search criteria, of which 'balcony' can be one of them. You can also enter price range and ask for Map view to where the hotels are located. Almost all Hotels in the area are girl friendly with maybe the odd exception.

I like to stay with a girl who likes a balcony for smoking too. Not that fussed for myself. However I stay in different location near to where she lives.

http://www.sukhumvitsuitesbangkok.com/Apparently this is the hotel that used to be called S Sukhumvit Suites. New management perhaps? I agree the location is outstanding, as good as any location in BKK for us. Their older rooms are larger and their newer rooms (about 4 years old) are very modern but tiny. The suites are nice but I would opt for the older room that is not a suite to get the best value. It may be called a deluxe room. Like most Bangkok hotels, prices are rising quickly. I stayed there a number of years ago for USD $35/ night. I thought it was an incredible deal back then. I would also recommend this hotel.

Have a look at The Mermaid Hotel Soi 29 http://www.hotelmermaidbangkok.com/.I am admittedly a BKK newb but I am always a bit confused when this hotel comes up as a prime location hotel for hobbyists. It's not near a metro sitting somewhere in between Asok and Phrom Phong metro. It isn't near the Soi 24 MP's nor Thermae nor Nana. The closest spot is Soi Cowboy but there are likely better hotels which are closer, including those around Terminal 21. The only thing for hobbyists which I think it's near is Scratch Dog, a disco no one here seems to discuss as a FL bar. This is where many of the Thermae and gogo girls go to. Am I missing a good area to hobby near Mermaid?

There are some recently renovated rooms, and the location is as you said, outstanding. I opted for the suite because I got a screaming deal through expedia when I booked after booking my flights. Suite was just a few dollars more per night if I pre-paid than the basic room.

Just wondering if there are any hotels by Soi Cowboy or Nana that have balconies. The closer to Soi cowboy and Nana the better. Budget is almost 3500 baht per night also must be a GF hotel.

Thanks.I ended up going with Grande Mecure Bangkok Asoke, around 10 min walk from Soi Cowboy but they have a daily tuk tuk that can take me to terminal 21 at around 4:30 pm daily for free.

I think I could walk that far. Yes Soi cowboy is just a little further (750 m) but still easy walk in the evening.

This Hotel is a favourite when have specials on. Room with kitchenette can be a very good deal.

I used to stay in this hotel for years and it was my favorite in BKK (just next to Soi cowboy, GF without any questions, etc) but it seems to be the last Time. They recently move the reception on the ground floor now. At your arrival they force you to sign a note with a lot of points including 1000 bahts joiner fees for any Guest. If you really want to invite somebody in your room, everybody can watch the scene because the reception area is filmed on the TV Channel of the hotel (Channel 1 for everybody).Anyone else confirm this? I'm looking at hotel options for May and this was one on my list due to proximity to Soi Cowboy and the BTS / MRT stations.

I am admittedly a BKK newb but I am always a bit confused when this hotel comes up as a prime location hotel for hobbyists. Am I missing a good area to hobby near Mermaid?I wonder what hobbies? This Hotel was perfect for me. A very short walk to Soi Cowboy. Also not far to go to Oily MPs on Soi 22 to 26, or Soi 33. If you don't want to walk, it is very quick motorcycle ride. Not far to get to MRT to visit Soapies on Ratchada, or to go to Silom.

I found equally convenient as Soi 19 Hotels or Soi 16 Hotel.

Obviously not quite so close to Thermae or Nana but not all of us are hooked on Thermae or Nana Plaza. I have not repeated any Thermae girl recently. Haven't managed to hook an exceptional looker that also performed good enough to repeat. I have repeated Nana Plaza and Nana Carpark girls.

I admit I do use ST Hotel in Soi 7/1 from time to time, in addition to one in Soi 21. However if I was staying in Mermaid, I would not need ST Hotel. There is no traffic jam in Mermaid's Soi 29. LOL.

I recall the "Penalty Spot" bar but know nothing about "Scratch Dog".

Phrom Phong and Asok BTS stations are not very far apart, so even Hotel is half way between, I don't find that an issue. So 500m from BTS. 500m is a short walk for me without luggage (relatively unobstructed walk). It is not very deep down the Soi.

Am I missing a good area to hobby near Mermaid?Soi 33 has a decent cluster of naughty massage shops. Some are occasionally discussed on ISG. Many seem to cater to Japanese clientele tastes: younger ladies, higher prices, less aggressive services. Akane, Dream Heaven and Love Teen come to mind.

Livingstone's Lounge was on Soi 33 and used to be a bit of a focal point for the farang punter scene. Gone for a while now.

+1, very well described.

My Base in BKK from last few trips. I like the corner suite room with balcony. Room are very clean and well kept. The only weak point I see in this hotel is the breakfast as it is included in the room price. I always have to manage with the egg station, rest of the spread is very thin. Prefer a very heavy breakfast and don't like going out of the hotel till late afternoon hence a pain for me.

However highly recommended for the price.

Scratch dog is a Korean hangout or rather pro East Asian joint. Cheongs tell me that a lot of university girls frequent here and place seems to function on similar lines like thermae albeit costlier. Wanted to visit but never made it on any of my trips.

I was looking at the Pachara Suites across the road for my upcoming trip, because they have spacious Suites / Studios with Balcony. However I read in some reports on Trip advisor that they charge a Joiners fee of 1000 THB if you bring 2 Guests within a 24-hour period. I wrote an email to Pachara Suites to confirm this a few days ago but they have not answered yet. If they don't answer by tomorrow I will just book Dynasty Grande again.

Has any of you had some experience with the joiner policy at Pachara Suites?

Dynasty grand has really great spacious bathrooms, with good shower cubicles (not over bath). Pool is good too. Weakness was the food was very poor standard when I stayed there, for any meals other than a basic breakfast. This view could be out of date if they got a new chef. Suggest eat somewhere else.

Reception girls were rather lovely too.

Stayed at the Nana hotel for several nights on this last trip, first time using this hotel. Hotel is basic and cheap, its location being a huge draw. The rooms are dated, the bathrooms are even worse. They say that some rooms are in pretty good shape while some rooms are trashed, luckily both of my rooms (2 stays) the rooms were of decent quality. Wifi is ok but you have to constantly log back onto their website with your phone if you leave the room and return. The hotel did get sold out during my stay so if you do get a room in poor shape you probably won't be able to swap rooms. Pool was fantastic though compared to the rooms. I'll stay there again for sure, it was super easy to walk the girls back to the hotel when they started tugging on you to take them to the short time room in Nana plaza.

I agree with you on the Nana Hotel for the reasons stated. I would add a decent buffet breakfast, and certainly ground zero for SW scene. A couple more tips for this hotel:

1) They have always given me a gratis early check-in (around 8 am) no problem, and on departure day they allow you to extend your checkout until 8 pm for 50% of the daily rate. Convenient for those late night flights departing from BKK.

2) When making the reservation request a high floor room as they are quieter.

3) For longer stays they give you a 10% discount for 15 nights or more, and 20% discount for 30 nights or more. Cheap becomes cheap cheap and damn cheap.

The area hookers are generally as harmless & religious as people you'ld find anywhere else in LOS.

In accumulated years of staying there using good safety measures I was never robbed or had my room broken into, even though many ladies knew my room number.

On my application for numerous tourist visas to Siam, I had no problems as a result of writing the name of the hotel I always stayed in in Bangkok.

I see no reason to be phobic about staying at this hotel, unless one is scared of the occasional insects commonly found throughout Thailand.

I see no reason to be phobic about staying at this hotel, unless one is scared of the occasional insects commonly found throughout Thailand. Not that keen on too many insects. Do you mean Cock-roaches (Malaeng Saap)? LOL

I had a creepy experience once when a tall ladyboy got in the lift and got out at my floor and at first I thought was following me. However stopped at some other guy's door knocked, and a much shorter guy welcomed "her" with big hug.

Rooms could be very dingy, although its many years since I stayed (over 15). I prefer a more modern hotel with "new" rooms. E. g. Mermaid, Column, Mercure, Dynasty Grande, Majestic Grande, etc. Worst problem is to be seen coming and going by girls I know in the street, or to be asked by friends where I am staying. Any more classy type of girls won't be very impressed by staying at Nana Hotel. Perhaps they won't want to spend the night there. LOL

It's good to check Thai gossip about if any girls have been murdered there. I did hear recent gossip that an ex Rainbow 4 girl was murdered by the customer, although I don't know which Hotel he stayed at. Years ago several girls were murdered by a Psycho staying at the Grace. Thai girls are very scared of ghosts of those murdered. Most of the web sites with this info are blocked by Thai Government (censored).

Today was quite hot 35C, yet an early evening walk from Soi Cowboy to Emporium, was no effort. It had cooled down significantly by 6.30PM. So I don't mind staying just a little bit away from the action rather than embedded right in it. I can afford a taxi to take girl back to my Hotel a short distance away, since she probably does not want to walk in high heels.

Thai culture & pay for play girls are affecting your use of the English language.

I don't recall seeing many cockroaches in Thailand. Large beetles, occasionally, especially on the streets or sidewalks in Bangkok and Singapore. More commonly and of more concern, mosquitos, everywhere from restaurants shops & bars to movie theatres and malls like MBK & Siam Paragon. Booking a room in a higher floor probably reduces your chances of encountering flying vampiric creatures as well as being disturbed in your sleep or fucking by various street noises.

In a decade of staying at Nana Hotel I have rarely seen a LB inside the premises, especially in the daytime or evening before midnight.

IMO the most impressive thing to a hooker is your wallet & how easily it opens. Not that I am looking to impress them or care about their impression of me. As long as I can motivate them to do what pleases me, my goal has been achieved. This is primarily by being generous, but not stupid, with the dough. Also important is knowing enough about their culture to interact with them decently, being of a kind disposition and respectful. Additionally they want to feel safe, such as by knowing you as a regular, and that they'll get paid.

From my interactions with dozens of them and hundreds of sessions, how expensive the hotel is that you stay at seems to mean relatively little if anything to them, whether street, bar, massage or gogo girls. Chances are it is a palace compared to where they live. An exception is the Rajah Hotel which is feared because it is haunted by the ghosts you referred to. Sometimes I tease TGs about going there. Another exception is a stunning gogo girl may not want to spend an hour stuck in Bangkok traffic that often moves at a snail's pace, travelling to and from a guy's hotel, especially if she call pull two tricks in that time by not going with that guy. For Thai P4P gals, time is money. Nana Hotel is extremely conveniently located for gals who work at NEP across the street.

Thanks, I can see my first sentence reads poorly. Probably should be something like "I am not too keen on having many insects". I have had ant problems in a town house before.

I was not aware I make a similar mistake frequently. Not sure it's really relevant to being in LOS a lot. So thanks for the tip. I write "near English" at best, certainly not good English. It's rushed.

Thai girls have been known to make comments to be about the quality of Hotels, especially the good Hotels. Classier Thai girls do appreciate a classy Hotel especially with comfort and magnificent views. For a low class hooker, is doesn't matter of course.

Even I did not stay there, I have heard some very positive comments from girls about JWMarriott hotel, as example. One classy girl loved the up top bar with views in Column Hotel. She also liked to go to State Tower. So depends if girl is a little Hi So or very Lo So. When girls are very unimpressed by el cheapo Hotel, they usually don't say anything. Keep it to themselves.

I have had ant problems in a town house before. If food is left out in the open it will attract insects to it. At Nana Hotel guests sometimes leave their room service food trays with half eaten meals outside their door, attracting cockroaches or other insects towards their room, as well as helping to breed the species by feeding it. I always flush any remaining food on the tray down the toilet & clean the tray, or take it far away from my room. I imagine much the same would apply at most other hotels.

As for your use of the words "too many" I wouldn't worry about anything so trivial. It just reminded me of how NEP area guys and P4 P gals often speak using our lingo. When in LOS speaking the way the natives do might even help them understand us farangs better.

Keep it to themselves. This sounds reasonable. I know that I would appreciate a magnificent view. And I wouldn't expect a Hi So to be impressed at the thought of the Nana Hotel, unless you were buying it for her. Hi So Thai girls probably wouldn't want to be caught, even dead, anywhere near NEP. Practically 100% of the pay for play gals in the area are relatively poorly educated non white skinned lo so country bumpkins from the endless farmlands north of Bangkok. I expect the quality of P4P service and attitude they give a customer would be better than that of a gal who's more likely to be haughty, spoiled & overpriced.

Regarding the JW Marriott hotel around the corner from the Nana Hotel, this is a much more expensive option than the Nana Hotel. Affordable if I'm staying for a few days, but not what I'd like to spend if living half of every year in the city. It's about 5 or 10 minutes more walking time from NEP than the Nana, which is all the time it takes in the Bangkok heat to work up a sweat & need to shower again if I had showered just before I walked out the door. In that regard, Nana hotel is the better alternative.

They are of course happy to go to JW or state tower as their bathroom selfies will impress their mates on the level of the prey they hunted. Whatever they got for the ST or LT, be it the market rate or be it the spoiled one linked to what people pays at home.

Stating one stays at a 5 star hotel might only increase the rate level, hoping the customer is fresh and new to the scene.

Or, in some cases, make them calculate the extra travel time the location will generate.

Of course none of us likes to stay in a filthy hotel.

Sometime a ST room is far better of what the girls have at the end of their shift.

A good and decent hotel might get you a LT at the price of a ST if not done too early in the evening. The girl might evaluate positively the advantages of sleeping in a comfy bed, nice Air con and a luxurious bathroom with all facilities and accessories.

A good and decent hotel might get you a LT at the price of a ST if not done too early in the evening. The girl might evaluate positively the advantages of sleeping in a comfy bed, nice Air con and a luxurious bathroom with all facilities and accessories.I find many girls (a percentage) start with the view that they cannot sleep well in a strange bed with a strange man they don't know, regardless of comfort levels. I only take girls for LT that know me well and are very relaxed about it.

If you find that you only pay ST and girl wants to stay long time, you must be excessively charming man. In the old days, we had to pay girls to make them leave, but I don't see this in the modern day. Perhaps I am too old, and not handsome enough, or take girls too early in the evening. I had a suspicion when taking Suzi Wong girls to my Hotel Admiral Premier maybe 4 years back, that they probably wanted to head off after ST to party, drinking and smoking Ice, and was well before the time they would normally sleep, at say 1 AM or so. I did find girls happy to do LT, but not really for ST price.

Maybe I took girls too early in the evening. I remember one Suzi girl taken for LT. I told her at 1 AM I needed a good sleep tonight since I have to get up early, having already fucked her. She was still yacking to me at 5 AM, when I had to start telling her to shut up. On something, or just not accustomed to sleep at 1 AM?

For my prior Bangkok visits I stayed on Soi 11 at Bangkok Ambassador. Location was perfect because it is walking distance to many hot spots. Gogo girls from both Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza were willing to make the walk. Plenty close to Thermae, Climaxx, soapies, oilies, and BJ bars.

I was thinking of next visit to stay at Dynasty Grande, but was wondering if girls would be willing to go that far from Soi Cowboy? What else is available half way between Nana and Cowboy that is a bit nicer than Ambassador but won't break the bank?

For my prior Bangkok visits I stayed on Soi 11 at Bangkok Ambassador. Location was perfect because it is walking distance to many hot spots. Gogo girls from both Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza were willing to make the walk. Plenty close to Thermae, Climaxx, soapies, oilies, and BJ bars.

I was thinking of next visit to stay at Dynasty Grande, but was wondering if girls would be willing to go that far from Soi Cowboy? What else is available half way between Nana and Cowboy that is a bit nicer than Ambassador but won't break the bank?Since you use the term "won't break the bank" I would suggest picking the hotel that you like and then spring for a taxi for you and the girl. It will be the smallest expense of the entire experience. 70 baht? 200 baht if a "mafia taxi".

I have stayed at Dream Hotel, might be more than you want to pay. Dynasty Grande is a good option, provided you don't expect the girl to walk there from Cowboy. Grand Swiss another option. I also like Silq in Soi 19, and Mercure Grande Residence in Soi 19 however these are closer to Cowboy (not that it should matter).

Manhatten Soi 15 is cheap but won't be better than Ambassador.

Probably best option is On8 right next to Nana BTS. Check that one first!

Appreciating what Crazy4Thai writes, you have to always offer the girl a taxi, since she might not like walking in high heels. If she says she can walk, fine, but it could be pouring with rain.

Plenty of times I took a girl in a taxi from Cowboy to Admiral President. It's only 400 metres but the walk is not the nicest around. Taxi cost 40 Baht. Less than 2 dollars.

You walk to the bar areas fine, but take girl home in a taxi! Exception is Hotels less than 100 metres away.

So I went ahead and booked Phachara Suites despite them not answering my emails. Big mistake, since I can now confirm that the 1000 THB joiners fee for the second girl on a day is real. Even worse, I was standing at the registration desk with a very pretty but somewhat shy Girl from Laos (See Bangkok reports thread for details) at 4 am In the morning and they said "You have to pay 1000 THB because it is your second visitor today", right in front of the girl. WTF? She was not happy about that, although I could calm her down quickly.

Other than that the Hotel is nice, very similar standard as Dynasty Grande across the road, but the corner-type executive studio (there are two types of executive studios, the corner-type is better equipped and has a better layout) has a balcony with a good city view. In Dynasty you have to choose between either large room or balcony, and the balcony rooms are all towards the calm but boring pool. Another thing is I had to move after my first night, because they initially "upgraded" me into a deluxe suite. However the suite did not have a bathtub (which the less expensive corner-type executive studio has) and the balcony was almost unusable due to large bars in front of the balcony. It felt a little bit like in prison.

However if you are into FLs and escorts, and want to bring them to your room, this place is not for you. I will have to bay the joiners fee again tonight because I have a dinner date with the Lao girl this evening and already had some fun with an escort this afternoon (See escort thread for details).

Normal for new comers.

The bars on the balcony are to stop drunk or drug addled customers from going over the edge, so nothing strange about that. Not sure if Dynasty has any views better than the pool view. I remember that view as OK years ago.

If you want a really fabulous view, stay on a higher floor of the Column Hotel or just use the rooftop bar. Windows go down to the floor in guest rooms to improve the views and they are good.

I used to take 3 girls to my room at Admiral Premier concurrently and they did not bat an eyelid. However we tended to run out of towels. LOL I never tried going to ask for a big stack of towels, but I suppose for a suitable tip would be possible.

Here is a guest friendly website: http://redlighthotels.com/destination/south-east-asia/thailand/bangkok-guest-friendly-hotels/ It does mention Phachara is friendly for just one girl per day only. You were also warned on Trip Advisor. Fine. Some guys recommend emailing the Hotel. I never ever did that. So you could not take a no answer as a good sign. I don't have the patience to wait for an email answer.

Many years ago I once stayed at the Bangkok Palace which was not girl friendly. So we can all make a mistake. Moved out promptly naturally. I also had a problem with Solo Hotel on Soi 2. They required female guests to be at least 20 or 21. I forget now. Girl was 19. LOL. Fortunately I had booked for 2 persons and checked her in as the 2nd guest, instead of as a temporary visitor for that day. However soon stopped staying at that Hotel.

An alternative is to ask at booking.com They should know. Or ask the ISG forum.

I don't normally take another girl to my room after a previous girl, unless the room has been cleaned in between. It would be a bit embarrassing for her to lie on the wet patch and have no clean towels to use. So perhaps for really active guys, you need to find out which hotel is willing to clean your room more than once per day and how much they charge for that. It could be the reason for Phachara's 1 K charge.

You can take a girl to a short time Hotel for 2 hours for quite a bit less than 1000 Baht, if the charge really worries you too much.

This maybe to late but you might look at iCheck inn Soi 19. Granted it is closer to Soi Cowboy but it is an easy walk to Nana. It use to be Swiss Grottino before they sold out. I have been staying here, most of the time, since it S / G opened years ago. It now is fully non smoking.

A lot of Hotels around Sukhumvit seem heavily booked right now and showing high prices. I was shocked to see Column at 7,800 Baht when I stayed there vastly cheaper before. Grand Mercure now too bad at around 2,800 and Mermaid good at 2100. Some crappy Hotels are booked out. LOL.

Those that insist on absolutely perfect location, may have to pay a high premium for it. Tonight I stay far from the action, and cheaply, but close to special girl's apartment, just for the ease of hook up, for her. Close but not too close, that could start bad gossip with people that know her. Location is rarely for my convenience, more so for the girl's convenience. She called to say she was horny (and needs money most likely).

I now see that On8 Hotel is lot more expensive than I thought. Aspira on Soi 7/1 is very central, very good price, and rated as very good. I would even try it myself, when have a reason, although located on a street full of hookers. LOL. Paradiso Boutique looks like a reasonable low budget option.

Is there an off season period in the year where hotel prices are significantly cheaper? The hotel prices currently seem expensive. What hotel aggregator search engine is everyone using? Not exactly expert on hotel occupancies as don't work for a booking agency.

Sure there is a low season, or maybe more than one. It is probably the wet season end of August to October. Even November should be low season. Hotels can offer specials to try to attract some occupancy. I agree does not seem to be the cheapest right now. I note some hotels fully booked that are good value for money. I was shocked at Column Hotel prices for the next few months. When I stayed there in the past must have been on a special price.

I used to like to use Wotif when they presented a grid of Hotels and dates showing price on each night in each hotel on each deal. They took that function away when amalgamating with another company most likely. Or they did not want to empower us quite that much to chop and change hotels during our stay, depending on temporary deals. I disliked Agoda and all sites that quoted prices without the tax included, fake prices. Mainly use booking.com now, but its not an aggregator site.

I had meant to post that Grand Mercure was NOT too bad at 2800 price. Good deal Hotel prices are still possible right now. Compare the ratings with the price.

I would say end of April until mid-November, barring certain blips when some event is happening in the city. I looked at some good hotels near Thermae for next week and prices seem to be in line with their lowest rates through the year. You can book Ruamchit on top of Thermae for about $35 USD tonight, the same price it generally is any time of the year. Sure it's not a fancy hotel whatsoever but it's clean enough in the better rooms. Doesn't hurt that there are 100+ girls at your disposal a few floors down from 8 pm until 2 am either.

There are some really cheap Hotels in Bangkok if you are prepared to not stay right in Sukhumvit centre.

Siam Privi Residence is going for 400 baht per night short motorcycle ride to ratchada soapies and underground for getting to Sukhumvit. That is less than $15 per night.

The Atrium Ratchada 13 is 940 Baht so maybe $30 per night for 37 sq metres room. Very short walk to soapies and MRT.

You pay a lot more for lower Sukhumvit locations in general. However booking.com shows several Hotels around the Nana BTS area with price around 1100 to 1300 Baht and rated 7. 0 out of 10 or higher. E. g. Paradiso Boutique Suites rated 7. 6 at 1350 Baht for 18 sq. Metres would be likely my try on Soi 10. 2000 Baht for deluxe room 28 sq. Metres with separate shower and bathtub. Sam's Lodge shows as 922 Baht on Soi 19, 20 sq. metres room. Will be hard to beat that price for 7 out of 10 rating.

I sometimes have reason to stay in a different region closer to Silom for all night mongering encounters, and often get rooms there for approx. 900 Baht, sometimes less. So definitely a bit cheaper than Sukhumvit region. There will also be options at Thonglor or further out along Sukhumvit for 800 to 900 Baht.

Aspira G Soi 33 is rated 8.6 and only 1200 Baht. Also well worth a try for me sometime for all night type encounters.

Didn't see this hotel listed as GF friendly as I searched the forums here and elsewhere. Appreciate the following:

- GF friendly?

- Given it is somewhat far from Sukhumvit -would escort agencies be willing to send their girls here (I m thinking of ordering in for overnight).

I arrive late evening (10 pm) at BKK and planning to take a flight out next day early (like 9 am) from BKK. Given the long 24 hour flight -prefer not to go all the way out to Sukhumvit for like 7 hours.

"As regards to cost, if you look at the hotel booking sites, normally lot cheaper from May through to October. Lots of hotels have special offers such as free nights. The downside is that May. October can be quite humid and wet depending where you go."

https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowTopic-g293915-i3686-k670851-Low_Season_Travel_to_Thailand-Thailand.html

The upside IME with the low season is the P4P gals are more desperate than ever & it's not as crowded with tourists.

Spent a couple nights at the Radisson Blu using points. Nice room, great king size bed. Lap top sized room safe, amenities, bathtub and shower. The wood flooring was warping, which you wouldn't expect in a 5 star hotel. Good location, close to the metros, Terminal 21, and Soi Cowboy. Nice rooftop bar with an okay selection of craft beers. Didn't get to try out the executive lounge, buffet, or other restaurants. The spa was tempting but I didn't have enough time. Pool was okay, not too crowded with nice chairs, towels, cabanas, and bar. They sent an email offering upgrades beforehand, but I passed because I normally like to eat away from the hotel. Brought two girls in at once and no one said anything.

One issue (good or bad depending on your style) is that they don't check ID's going in and don't stop the girls when they leave.

Everyone has different tastes in hotels and what the want. Taking money out of the equation which of these two hotels will provide the best experience. Majestic Grande or Landmark. Booth seem to be.

Within 5 minutes of ground zero, will the ladies have a preference and would it be reasonable to expect them to walk unless it is raining.

Thanks.

I have stayed at both. Absolutely no comparison if you prefer not to endure a walk of shame.

Majestic Grande is a monger hotel and nobody will bat an eyelid as you come and go.

Landmark is much more salubrious and has a walk of shame with security watching you. I had an experience later one evening where the security guys suggested that the girl leave her I D at reception. I have also passed by when nothing was said.

You said to "take money out of the equation". If money is not a concern then Landmark is easily the best. If you are watching your baht, then Majestic Grande wins every time.

Thanks! You can easily read reviews of both Hotels at Trip Advisor website, or others.

I recently saw a gorgeous girl heading to Cozy Hotel after buying food. Not sure if she was Thai or not. I was hoping she was heading to a monger establishment, so that I could book her. LOL. She was that good. Could have been an Escort. Could have been a normal girl. Cozy Location is better than Paradiso Boutique suites (same Soi I believe) because the later is right near the Blowjob bar. Cozy is a little further down the Soi 10, but not far. Very small Hotel.

Don't know much about Wellness but seems to be right near the Short Time Hotel Asoke Place with lots of Asian guys walking around with ladyboys. Looks like the place is a bit old. May have been converted to a Hotel from something else. I prefer newer Hotels myself. At least Wellness location is good for getting transport to go to other places.

Suggest you should look at customer ratings before choosing a largely unknown Hotel.

How long does the taxi take.

Also please suggest a good place close to soi cowboy or a friend suggested around soi 24 where many parlors are.

You should be in your Hotel by 8 PM to 8. 30 PM. Plenty of time to get a 'massage' LOL then check out some bars later. I would stay at Mermaid Hotel (good price) .Good choice. However, I looked it up just now and Mermaid and S Sukhumvit Suites are the same price (44 USD for Mermaid and 47 USD for S Sukhumvit). If it were my first time in Bangkok, I would stay at S Sukhumvit simply because it's closer to Soi Cowboy. Mermaid is also close, but 2 blocks away. S Sukhumvit is on the same block as Soi Cowboy. Radisson Blu Plaza is basically the same location as the Mermaid, but twice the price as the Mermaid. However, 88 usd a night is not a bad price for that Radisson since it's a nice hotel. All good choices. The only bad choice would be to stay at the airport.

I offer two suggestions. First, find a way to stay longer then 3 nights. Married? Make up some story for your wife about your work commitments. Take some vacation. You will regret leaving after only 3 nights. Second, stay in an affordable hotel somewhere between Nana and Soi Cowboy. There is action scattered along that whole stretch. I stayed on Soi 11 at Ambassador for about $50 per night (tower wing), it was good enough for me. Later I learned that there are nicer places available at the same price or a bit more.

Hello everybody,

Does anybody know if the Marriott Marquis on Soi 22 is a girl friendly hotel?

Many thanks. I will report. How long has the Imperial Queens Park Hotel been called Marriott Marquis now? Back in the late 90's and early 2000's I always stayed at the Imperial Queens Park. Some of the best shags of my life happened in that hotel. Damn old hotel though, I would be curious to see how Marriott renovated it since they took over. It was absolutely girl friendly every time I stayed there. I believe all Marriott hotels are girl friendly.

The only hotel I ever stayed at that was not girl friendly was Amari on soi 5 and I will never stay there again. They charged me 800 baht as a "joiner" fee back in 2003. I told them back then that if they charged me that 800 baht, I would never stay there again. I had already paid over regular rate for the room and the fact that the travel agent had booked it for one person should not have mattered as booking for 2 people up front did not cost any more. And the girl I was taking to my room was only for one hour, not for the night. However, they made the managerial decision to charge the 800 baht "joiner fee" that night and I never have stayed there again and never will. I have stayed well over a thousand nights in hotel rooms in Bangkok since then and would have likely stayed in that hotel more than 100 more times had they not charged me the 800. I also bad mouth their hotel every chance I get. Very poor management decision. Screw them. I also never used that travel agent again.

Hi,

Been going through various sites, and each one has a diff rate.

Is there any particular hotel booking site which offers even better rates, or should one stick to agoda / bookings.com etc.

Thanks.

And booked Radisson blu plaza.

Thanks a ton.

The best way is the express train to Makasan only take 40 min 120 bht, if you can leave your luggage at the airport only carry enough for one night.

Thanks.I recommend to stay away from sites that do not include the plus plus service charges in the price, which generally means 18% gets added to the original quoted price. Therefore I don't use Agoda any more. There is no guarantee that any one site is cheapest, but you need them to be all playing the game in the same way to make a comparison readily.

Strangely I wanted a Hotel in BKK for 2 nights. The 2 night price was higher than I expected. I wanted to see which night was more expensive. I booked each of the two nights separately and got a better price, both on booking.com. Strange that they think they can up the profits for longer stays, instead of giving a discount. Saved over 300 Baht, with one minute extra work. Not much but it could be a lot more for longer stay in a higher class Hotel. This is just my bargain mongering Hotel, but not in Suk area. I plan to get a few fucks in with overnight girl to make it all worth while.

Therefore I don't use Agoda any more. There is no guarantee that any one site is cheapest, but you need them to be all playing the game in the same way to make a comparison readily.I prefer to take the other approach and compare base rates per night at the various booking sites including the official hotel web sites. You never know where a bargain rate will show up, but lately I have gotten great deals on Expedia and the official hotel websites as well.

I dislike Booking dot com's way of quoting prices ie the price for the entire stay plus BKK's 7 % VAT and 10 % Property service charge precisley because this format makes me perform extra calculations to find out what the nightly base rate is. Death and taxes are unavoidable, so I want to know the base rate for comparison purposes.

For example: if the total price quoted on booking dot com for a hotel stay including taxes and service fees is $1000 for 10 nights then I must calulate the hotel discount rate which equals 10/(10 *1+tax+service charge) which in the case of BKK is (10/10*1. 17) = (10/11. 7) = . 8547.

Then I must multiply the total price ($1000) x the discount rate (. 8547) and divide by the # of days (10) in order to arrive at a comparable price. Thus ($1000+. 8547)/10=$85.47 the nightly rate before service charge and taxes. This is the rate I use that is comparable rate to 90% of all the other rates quoted on the internet. In addition, Booking dot com does not alwyas add in the taxes and service charges in their inital quotes so one has to be very carefull when relying on one of their offers and make sure what is and what is not included.

And furthermore (I am almost done) I must calculate the discount rate 10/(10*1+tax+service charge) for every country I plan to visit becasue the tax and service charges vary per destination. Booking dot com: what a pain in the ass and only occasionally are they the cheapest. That's my two baht for the day.

Few years back I would write to the hotel directly, even sometimes would have some general managers number where I have stayed, it comes handy for recommendations.

But recently I find if you email the hotel asking for a decent rate on longer stays I found they make offers that are higher than offers on their own websites.

I did mention it to them in reply to their offered, some offer a better deal and some just ignore. I guess business is flourishing.

But you are right once one selects a hotel then one can try various sites, but in Thailand there is so much to choose from, and I really don't mean just girls. Hotels, food, things to do.

Thanks for all your help.

This is what was amended without my consent and incorrectly posted by the ISG editor; Thus ($1000+. 8547)/10=$85.47 the nightly rate before service charge and taxes.

I like Agoda because they give me points that I can use for free nights. I don't worry too much about the rates since I expense that anyway.Priceline currently owns Booking.com, Agoda and Kayak.

Expedia currently owns Orbitz, Travelocity, Hotwire, eBookers and CheapTickets. Expedia gives points as well as Agoda.

Some of the best deals, however, are available by becoming a member of certain hotel chain's reward clubs in conjunction with getting a credit card from same hotel for example joining World of Hyatt and getting a Chase Hyatt CC or joining the IHG Rewards Club and getting a Chase Intercontinental CC. To give the customer an incentive, these CC's usually come with a couple of free voucher nights and substantial bonus points worth another couple of free nights for signing up and spending $2,000 or $3,000 in a few months on anything with the new CC. The annual membership fee is waived for the 1st year. After that a member can either cancel the credit card and not pay any annual fee or keep the card, pay the following year's annual fee and receive an anniversary voucher night to compensate for the annual fee. Believe me it works out to the member's advantage if you plan to stay at one or more of the respective hotels for even a few nights per year. In 2017, I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Jakarta for free for 7 nights using a combination of points and vouchers. I also stayed at the Fairmont Makati for 3 nights, paid for only 2 nights, was upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite, the executive lounge, and given $50 voucher for food at the Spectrum restaurant.

My least favorite hotel reward program is Marriott. Initially it was very a genorous reward program with a signing bonus of 50,000 pts and a couple of free voucher nights just for charging the requisite amount ($2000 or $3,000) on the new Marriott CC in the 1st 3 months. But I find Marriot is restrictive on the hotels where I can use their vouchers and points. For example, I can't use their points at Marriot Executive apartments where I like to stay when I am in BKK and the voucher nights can't be used at the JW Marriott BKK. This March I stayed at the Renaissance BBK instead in order to use my two free voucher nights with Marriott before they were due to expire. Hyatt, Intercontinental (ISG), and Fairmont have restrictions, but none so binding.

Airline reward programs in combination with Airline CC's can also be rewarding. I fly United and it's partner's Swiss Air and Thai Air often. This translates for me into a free round trip ticket from south Florida to BKK or MNL every couple of years.

Since there is no increase in price for 2 people, the hotel should not ever be trying to charge a "joiner fee". Any hotel that tries that BS has shit management and is a hotel that I won't even consider staying at. Most hotels don't care if you book for 1 or 2 people, you can bring girls to your room.

But I agree, it's best to book for 2 people even when you are alone. Because there are a few hotels out there like Amari with shit management.

I agree that if you are traveling alone you should book the room for 2 guests if the const is the same. No down side to it. But there is a difference between a registered guest and a joiner:

A registered guest is legally residing at the hotel. Their name in the hotels computer system. They can ask for a key to the room, and can charge hotel services to the room account.

As far as the hotel is concerned a joiner is a visitor. They are visiting you at the hotel. Technically they should be in your presence at all times. The hotel might or might not take note of their ID. They can not just ask for a room key for room access. They have a different status than registered guests.

Since there are 1000's of hotels in Thailand there are 100's of shades of grey to this situation. And people tend to point to a single preferred occurrence and assume it a universal rule. But from the hotels perspective double occupancy means more than physical bodies.

I've always booked my hotels on booking dot com and have never been quoted at price before tax. The price is always after tax, the exact total amount I pay them when arriving. This is true for BKK & Pattaya hotel listings in booking dot com, but be aware that for some destinations booking dot com DOES NOT include the service fees and taxes. In addition I do not like the way they quote prices for the entire stay instead of on a nightly basis. The obvious purpose is to make comparisons with other hotel websites difficult. I do not like.

Tip: make sure you are comparing apples with apples ie always compare the nightly rate before or after taxes, I do not care which, with several sites like expedia, agoda, booking dot com, if that is your preference, and the hotel sites themselves before making a final decision. You never know where the best deal will turn up. Believe me.

Some hotels, in some periods, do offer variable rates depending on the day.

So you might have 100 in one night and 80 or 120 in another night.

Having the stay total price will summarise all what you are going to spend.

I think ths bis more straight and fair.

Booking.com will always quite, 99%, of cases, the final price including tax and service.

Having the stay total price will summarise all what you are going to spend.

I think ths bis more straight and fair. You are of course entitled to your opinion and your shopping preferences. All I am trying to say is:

#1 NO hotel booking site has a monopoly on the best rates. There have been times when I found cheaper rates by $20 to $50 per night on competing sites like Expedia & Agoda and other times when I found Booking dot com offering the lowest rate by a similar margin.

#2 Since most of the other hotel booking sites quote rates on a per night basis before taxes & service charges, I find it cumbersome and tedious to make the computation for the Booking dot com rate so I can make an informed comparison. Furthermore, I believe Booking dot com does this on purpose to make comparison shopping harder. They should have a simple tab mechanism to view their quote on a per night basis, but they do not.

#3 I have no preference for any hotel reservation site. They all use their little nonlinear profit maximization algorithms for their benefit not mine. As a result, hotel & airline prices fluctuate on an almost daily basis and vary widely among sellers. My only loyalty is to myself and to pay as little as possible for what I want. On my last trip, I split my purchases roughly 25% Agoda, 25% Expedia, and 50% official hotel sites. I am not saying this would be your experience. It always depends on hotel choice, date of reservation, and time between booking and stay. I know up to 9 months in advance when & where I am going and where I want to stay. I keep a spreadsheet of lowest hotel and airline prices for easy referral, so I know a good price from a great price when I see it and when I see a great price I book it. Thus, while I have no loyalty to any of these bloodsuckers, I do know how to minimize my costs on their gameboard.

I returned home from my last big Asian trip in early May and I am already looking at the various websites for deals on the next trip. Booking dot com has one advantage: you can cancel most of their bookings up to a couple weeks before arrival if some better deal should come along, but always read the fine print to make sure there is no prepayment and cancelation is free without penalty just to be sure. Agoda and Expedia have similar cancelation poicies, but many times the cheapest rate is a prepayment/non-cancellable rate. They inform the customer of this up front and it is always up to the customer if prepayment is worth the risk or not. I prepayed on an Expedia reservation at the Peninsula Hotel in Makati. A month later the rate on Expedia for the same hotel/same date/ect was $15/night cheaper. I notified Expedia of this and they refunded the difference.

I will probably be booking my airline ticket in the next 3 or 4 weeks, 8.5 months in advance. 555! I am speculating that fuel costs are not going much lower, the American economy will most likely get a little stronger, and the Thai/Indonesian political situation will remain like it is, fairly stable. I can't wait for my next go-round. I wish I was leaving next week, not next year.

Thanks, a very interesting post. Things to watch out for.

I was quite surprised recently when tried Booking.com for 2 nights at Hotel X. Price seemed a bit high. I then tried each night independently and the total was somewhat lower. So I ended up making 2 bookings for a saving. Silly but saved a good few dollars.

So the question is why are Booking.com doing this? Do they think that the multi-night booking will not be comparable with other sites, and therefore they can get away with a higher profit margin? I am assuming the problem lies with Booking.com, but I guess it could relate to the Hotel policies too.

I used to really like Wotif, since they showed a grid with the per night price on each different night, so that you could choose your dates for Hotels for optimal pricing. They took the feature away, perhaps because it afforded the customer too much opportunity to easily choose the best Hotel and dates combination.

I believe that Wotif, which used to be my go to booking site, was bought out by Expedia and then was not nearly so useful. From their web site.

Hotels.com Rewards

How it works

You will collect 1 night for every night you stay at an eligible hotel.
Once you have collected 10 Rewards nights, you'll get 1 free night at an eligible hotel.
The value of your free night is equal to the average rate of the 10 nights you collected to earn it.

Free night is limited to $40-50 dollars a night (sometimes less). Not useful if you are paying higher rates to get this. Not true at all. You get 10% of the price of the room (-taxes).

Besides that you could go through cashback sites (if your from the uk) like quidco.com and get a extra 6-12% off (and still the free nights).

What a lot of people don't know / use is their best price policy. If you book your room and see the price cheaper somewhere else they will refund you the difference. ALSO: if at a later moment after you booked you see a cheaper price for the same room they will refund you as well! If you booked a non-refund rate they also give you a refund but then in the form of a voucher for a next booking at any hotel.

So basically there is no cheaper / better option then hotels.com.

As I haven't been to the airport is the departure and arrival areas difficult to access easily. The level 4 departure baggage depot is straight from door #7 at the curb.

Between departure and arrival, I would drop the bagge at departure, so you don't have to move around with luggage when you have to do the check in, ie quicker.

They must have changed their policy since my stay which was a least a year ago.Can be as simple as who is the internet service provider, which could change. Internet sites available is unlikely to be controlled by the Hotel, I think. It is not exactly something they would spend time worrying about. It's not exactly chewing up bandwidth.

Funny that Thai govt. Shuts off many porn sites yet there are still plenty of alternatives still working.

Respected members,

I am coming to Bangkok after a long time. Unlike my previous stays in sukumvit, my company booked Berkeley hotel in Pratunam.

I am worried if it will allow girls to stay overnight. Tried to contact hotel but no response.

Anybody has any experience to share about this hotel?
Would really appreciate it.

Regards.

Hey guys!

Will be making my first trip to Bangkok in Nov. I'm looking at hotels in the Nana Plaza area. I really want a hotel that is 2 guest friendly. I'm not so much worried about a joiner fee for girl #2 as I am having my plans ruined. Ill be staying 6 nights. I'm not that price sensitive, but don't care about luxuries either. I've stayed at shitty hotels in the USA and Europe when necessary. Any recommendations? Everything I've seen on the internet is "a few years ago. " Anyone manage a 3 some recently? I would really appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks!

Thanks!Nothing changes much bud! Hotels that were great for 3 some 2 years ago still are good now. I used to use Admiral Premier, near to Cowboy and not too far from MPs.

I recall Tansak took multiple girls to some Hotel in Soi 11 with no hassles. Forget which one. Even the Nana Hotel might be perfect for your purpose. Plenty of sleezy hotels around.

Dream Hotel is fine. No clue how they react to 2 girls though. Never tried it there.

Stayed here for a night few weeks back, I got it for US $75 (some promotion was going on).

The hotel is classy and savvy, however they don't call you when the girl departs which is kind of not so good considering the girl might have poisoned you (kidding but there are other measures to count).

A bit far from the happening area but close enough for a Taxi / Tuk tuk. Don't hesitate to try since it's a high-end hotel, completely girl friendly.

N. B. - They take 1 k as security deposit, don't get surprised.

Folks.

I need a help. I was supposed to travel to BKK along with a friend of mine. But unfortunately he backed out and I am now travelling alone.

The hotel booking was made under his name for 2 rooms but now they got cancelled along with his travel plans.

Can you suggest a 4 or 5 star hotel close to nana / all the action.

I have shortlisted the following:

1. Radisson Blu in sukhumvit.

2. Sheraton grande.

3. Pullman.

4. Centre point on terminal 21.

5. Westin.

Can I please have a heads up. If there are any better ones please suggest.

Thank you.

JW Marriott. You can see the nipples of Nana from their lovely rooms.

Hey G, I think you will be very happy staying at any of the hotels on your short list (above). That said, I would recommend Radisson Blu, the Westin, and Grand Centre Point T21 in that order based on most bang for you baht (room size and amenities), convenient location, and swimming pool. Again, all 5 are good choices (execpt the Pullman - I hate their swimming pool). I would also add Sofitel Sukhumvit to your list because it is a great hotel too. Bottom line, you should not have to pay more than $110 - $120 for this level of hotel quality. In fact, I often see these hotels priced around and even under $100/night, so shop around the various internet booking sites and find your best deal.

G.It appears that you are focused on Nana. There are 3 hotels on Soi 2 that might be right for you. Searching for Sukhumvit hotels using google MAPS (as opposed to simply google which shows you a list and advertising) shows JW Marriott as a 5 star for $137, Majestic Grand as 4 star at $67 and the newest of the 3, Icon as 4 star at $47. I have stayed at Majestic Grande and quite liked it. These are closer to Nana. The passageway to Soi 4 walking past Annie's is now open again so it's an easy walk. You could further research amenities and choose from these. I seem to remember one report that said the rooms at Icon are smallish but I'm not real sure of that.

G.I think Sofitel Sukhumvit is very nice. In Sukhumvit I have also stayed in Emporium and Sheraton Grande but Sofitel is something else if you ask me. Modern rooms with wonderful beds, fantastic service, nice swimming pool with bar, great spa, great restaurants, roof top bar and restaurant and the best breakfast in Bangkok.

G.None of those are close to Nana, they are close to Soi Cowboy. However, any of those is a good choice. I like Soi Cowboy better than Nana anyway. If you want to be near Nana, JW Marriott is great. If you don't want to spend as much money as JW Marriott, you can stay at Landmark near Nana. Another good choice near Nana is Majestic Grande. That one is only about $75 a night.

Thanks.Hi ViperZ.

I just booked my hotel room for Bangkok a few days ago for my August trip to Thailand. I did an extensive amount of hours of scouring, and analyzing best location to stay and when it came down to it I felt it was best to stay somewhere that is in between Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza. I also too want to walk to the GoGo bars and not have to jump into cabs late at night. Another important criteria for me was not being too far of a walk from Sukhumvit so I can have the convenience of all the shops, restaurants, on that street. While other hotels such as the Dream Hotel, Fraser Suites, Mavenpick are halfway between Soi Cowboy and Nana they are about a half mile or slightly less from Sukhumvit which is just not convenient. The best hotels that were centrally located between the 2 main gogo areas and close to Sukhumvit (less than 300 m) for this were the following:

5 star Hotel. The Sofitel is the best of all but will set you back about $130 or more with no breakfast included. This is a true 5 star hotel.

4 star Hotels-
Adelphi Suites is where I booked as you can get a large room that is nice and modern and get a package deal with breakfast for under $80 all in per night. I booked through HotelCombined.com via Agoda. I am very happy with my decision.

Four Points Sheraton is also central and near Sukhumvit but the rooms were about $110 per night all in with no Breakfast when I checked. It was my 2nd choice.

Grand Swiss Sukhumvit 11 was my 3 Road choice and has nice rooms all in that start about $75 US dollars per night on up. The location is good but I liked the overall value of the Adelphi better.

If you don't care about being super central in the middle of Soi or Nana, of course there are more great choices like the Grande Centre Point Sukhumvit, Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Radisson Blu, Pullman, and Grande Centre Point Hotel but these are closer to Soi Cowboy. If you look at Hotels closer to Nana Plaza the JW Marriott, Conrad Hotel, and The Oriental seemed like good options. What helped me decide was pulling the hotel up on Google Maps and then zooming in or out and seeing its proximity to Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy in addition to Sukhumvit Rd. Of course price, guest rating, and breakfast should be factored in . Good luck with your search.

Hi guys,

This is my first time on this website and my first post.

I have just booked my flights to Bangkok and I am flying there in a few weeks. After a lot of research trying to find a guest friendly hotel in the centre of the city, I booked a suite at Admiral Premier.

I have been reading a lot about people being ripped off at this go go bars and massage parlours. Can someone please suggest me a proper / safe gogo bar? And any other suggestion is highly appreciated.

Cheers.

Sukhumvit Soi 8 has some very decent Thai restaurants just 100-200 metres from Adelphi.

Dear all,

Please refrain yourselves from booking this hotel since they have a joiner fee of 1,000 baht.

I was strongly considering them for my upcoming trip so emailed them to know about their policy for overnight guests. They clearly mentioned in the mail that, there would be a fee of 1,000 baht applicable if the guest hasn't checked in with you during your initial check-in at hotel.

It seems this hotel caters more to business and family tourists than monger tourists!

I stayed at Marriott Queens Park recently. It's been drastically renovated from the old days when it was Imperial Queens Park hotel. The rooms are brand new and very nice. However, the toilet doesn't have water to wash your ass. That's a big minus in my book.

If you know far enough in advance that you're travelling, I recommend taking a look at Phachara Suites (using something like Agoda to do the booking). It's a perfect location if Nana plaza is your thing (about 1 block away? But it's also a stone's throw away from the BTS. Its also tucked away on a side street off of soi Nana, so you really aren't ever bothered by the noise of traffic. The suites are great and everything is very clean. The area leaves something to be desired, but there's a 7/11 across the way and the hotel itself is tall and beautiful (in my opinion).

It's *somewhat* guest friendly. 1000 baht extra for every guest after the first per day. They still do the ID thing and the call to make sure you're okay afterward.

As to whether that additional expense is going to be worth it will be up to you. It always was for me. The staff has always been friendly and everything on the room service menu has always tasted great (Just. Don't get the steak. I tried it on a whim. Just don't.). I've stayed there seven times now. I'll be there again for the holidays.

Good Report Steel (in BKK Reports). I have wondered what a few nights at the Swissotel LE Concord would be like. Talk about a change in scenery, but it is conveniently connected to everywhere by way of the MRT. Plus, there are lots of restaurants in the area and of course many soapies. I believe a deluxe room is $80 or less. Have the deluxe rooms been renovated too. Did you have time to check out the swimming pool?

It's great to feel that water go up your asshole and you feel very clean after a dump. I had to complain to the housekeeping at the Ambassador because the washer was dirty and they don't clean them. I notice that they were new and clean the last time I stayed there.

If you know far enough in advance that you're travelling, I recommend taking a look at Phachara Suites
SNIP
Be aware that there are 4 construction sites in soi 6 at the moment. And one of them is right next to Phachara Suites and another one is opposite Phachara Suites (next to the Dynasty Grande).

RL.Do you have a washer with warm water back home? Or do you live in a warm country?
A cold water washer would be literally a pain in the ass in my country in the winter time, LOL.

...Second, stay in an affordable hotel somewhere between Nana and Soi Cowboy. There is action scattered along that whole stretch. I stayed on Soi 11 at Ambassador for about $50 per night (tower wing), it was good enough for me. Later I learned that there are nicer places available at the same price or a bit more.
Enjoy your trip!Care to identify the nicer places you refer to in this post, HorseTrader?

Stayed here for a night, the hotel was splendid, at a perfect location and real VFM.

They offer free breakfast and 24 Hrs check-in. I checked-in around 11 pm and it was all smooth. The free breakfast is also great, you can prepare a free freshly cooked dish like Omelette or boiled egg for you.

Guests are always welcome and they call you before the guest comes and leaves, very secure. The location is pretty good but towards more closer to Nana Plaza. Many eatery options near by.

I'd consider staying there again, however I'd prefer booking in advance to get a cheaper price!

Belongs to the Dynasty group of hotels as well.
Standard Rooms are 1700 THB (weekends 2000 THB) but may not be suitable for those who like to take girls LT because the beds are quite small.

Fellow mongers,

Is there anyone if you that would consider Grand Hyatt? Spasso is in the building if I am not missinformed? It would be sweet to head down to Spasso, pick up a girl and go back to the room.

I usually stay at Sofitel and it has a good location in between Nana and Cowboy.

Let me know what you think?

Care to identify the nicer places you refer to in this post, HorseTrader?Terminal 21 hotel. Opposite to Cowboy and 10 min max to Nana. Most rooms also have a laundry machine so you can always walk outside fresh! And also has direct access to the mall which has a supermarket and a food court so food is always within 5 min from your room.

/ Kirsia.I stay at the Hyatt quite a lot, I'll actually be there Saturday night on a visa run from Pakistan. Haven't been to Spasso although I've walked by it a lot. I usually just take the train to Nana or Cowboy and a taxi back, although I have walked back from nana a couple of times when I haven't been out late and just feel like some exercise.

RL.I have the same at my house. I refuse to go without it now. As far as living in a cold weather area and the water being too cold, I have never had that problem. I love that even the public toilets in the restrooms at the Narita airport have those nice washet toilets installed. I wish the USA would step into modern comfort and start having those as the norm. They help to avoid hemorrhoid problems as well.

I have never stayed at the Grand Hyatt BKK, but I do like to stay for short periods at other Ratchaprasong hotels like the Renaisance and Intercontinental. Why? So I can 1) be relatively close to Patpong (1 bts stop away), 2) can easily partake in my annual night or nights at Spasso and Mixx, and 3) use my annual free night vouchers with Marriott and Intercontintental. Now I am talking about spending 4 or 5 nights tops in this area out of the 5 or 6 weeks I usuually spend in BKK, so the change of scenary is good for me. I would not want to spend a higher percentage of my time in BKK in this neighborhood, however, because I think I would miss out on the good stuff happening on Sukhumvit Soi 4 to Soi 63 24/7 and frankly Ratchaprsong is kind of a boring neighborhood unless you are really into high end Malls or don't want to stay in the red light district.

For what it is worth, I really like the Grand Hyatt Jakarta. Its my favorite hotel in Jakarta. So I am sure the Grand Hyatt BKK is an excellent hotel. Be sure to visit Spasso and Mixx if you stay at the Grand Hyatt and remember the BTS works in both directions. Nana is just two stops East of Chit Lom station and Patpong is one stop south of Ratchadamri Station.

Food: EatThai, a very upscale and tasty foodcourt, is in the basement of the Cental Embassy Mall. And believe it or not, You & Mee Restaurant in the basement of the Grand Hyatt next to Spasso has some of the tastiest Khao Soi in the city.

Hey Natty,

Thanks for the advise on Grand Hyatt.

I understand that Spasso is in Grand Hyatt and hence my interests in the hotel.

I have RTFF and my following questions are to get your opinion about BKK. I am only in BKK for three nights and I want to make the most of it. I usually stay at Sofitel at Sukhomvit and it is a hotel I like. I have stayed in Interncontiental and a few more hotels in BKK.

1. Is Mixx about the same type of scene as Spasso? I assume it it a bunch of reasonable to good looking FL?

2. Is Mixx located close to Spasso?

3. My plan is to do a Smooci girl in the afternoon after a few hours of sleep. I arrive early morning after a long flight. Hit Spasso in the evening (I arrive on a Sat) and hopefully score a lady with great looks (I hope both I and she will be interested in LT). Wake up on Sun and let the Spasso lady blow me before I head out for breakfast. Sunday. Hit a MP (not sure which one, I have been to Bamboo and Snow White and I liked both but I may try a different MP). Have one of my regulars come and see me in the evening. Be with her Sunday night and hang out with her on Monday and do her Monday night too. Anyway my question / s are two fold: what do you think of my plan and how would your plan look like for three nights?

Thanks!

The last time I visited Thailand (late 2016) I stayed at the S Sukhumvit Suites, and as I'm registered on ISG now in anticipation of my return trip its time for a report!

The S Sukhumvit Suites is a small, modern hotel immediately adjacent to the Asok BTS station, across the street from Terminal 21, and immediately south of Soi Cowboy. The location for someone interested in either spending most of their time at the Cowboy gogos or wanting quick access to a BTS station couldn't be better, the location really is phenomenal. When exiting the hotel you can take an immediate right into a stairway not five feet from the front door which will lead you up to the BTS station / a flyover to Terminal 21 so you don't have to wait in traffic or get wet in the rain. Alternatively you can continue to the right, just past the staircase, and reach the entrance to Soi Cowboy in another hundred feet. Finally for the traveler who wants easy access to high quality if pricey food (for Thailand), the top floor of Terminal 21 is a dream with literally dozens of choices for meals complemented with even more restaurants and some dessert / snack shops on the basement level.

The hotel itself was quite nice, if perhaps a bit pricey for what it offers depending on what deal you get. Pros first: The rooms are modern, the bathroom facility is nice if small, wi-fi is free and the included breakfast (get this!) cannot be praised enough. You'll find nothing to complain about in the rooms which come with a small closet, safe, a nice desk, a large stuffed chair and a desk chair, and a bed that will dominate most of the room. I honestly cannot recall if there was a TV as its been some months and I never use them, but I'm assuming there was. The only significant negative, and it is significant, is room size. For all of its modern polish these rooms are tiny, the basic studio I stayed in was no more than 25 square meters tops, perhaps closer to 20. I didn't find fault with it, but do keep this in mind.

Overall a strong recommend if you can get it for a reasonable price (2,000 THB or less), above that and I'd only recommend if it you want to spend most of your time at the cowboy and don't want to mess about with ST hotels or waste any time.

The Grand Hyatt is really nice, it has the same feel as the Grand Hyatt in Jakarta although the rooms are smaller. They are still a good size but the GH Jakarta has huge rooms. I've stayed in both many times, just checked in at the GH in Bangkok 30 minutes ago.

Seems that the price in PPS is cheaper and facilities amenities are of a higher standard. My deluxe corner rooms was spacious and modern with a great view of Asoke. Hotel is girl friendly and staff are very nice and professional.

Great price / quality if you ask me.

Another one in the neighborhood but a bit further away from Asoke was Mermaid Bangkok. Corner suite with king bed was great with nice bathroom. Prefer PPS as it's nearby Asoke BTS.

Incidentally for anyone searching for info on the S Sukhumvit Suites I forgot to mention the most important bit. Completely girl friendly! A bit of bonus is that the hotel lobby is on the second floor whereas the first floor is largely just the stairs, an elevator, and the entrance to the restaurant you'll be having breakfast at. Because of that layout you can bring a girl in to the first floor and just hop in the elevator to go straight to your room, bypassing the lobby entirely, if you so choose.

They are located quite close to one another. You can avoid mod post delay by paying your $20 membership and then you can have access to PMs from me and others who are happy to help you.

IMHO, paying extra for Landmark Club Access / breakfast is not worth it (use the cash to buy ISG m / ship). There are great all day breakfast places nearby if you want to step outside. At the very least, you can grab a good coffee and whatever else you like in the restaurants attached to the hotel. Paying extra for breakfast in a hotel never appeals to me because you have to fit in with the hotel breakfast times and many days you may wish to sleep in way past the prescribed times.

The morning traffic is horrible and there are no available taxis passing that hotel. It took us 1 hour to get a taxi in the morning from that hotel. And that hotel does not have someone to help you get a taxi or even a proper area to stand with your bags. You have to stand on the busy sidewalk with all of your bags along with a multitude of other guests looking for a street taxi. It was a real pain in the ass.

I only stayed there once and had the "suite double" room which is supposedly the large room. It lists the room online as 32 square meters, which seems a decent size. But due to the ridiculous layout of the room, it is tiny. The main problem I have with the room is that it so small that I can't easily make videos in the room. They waste space by having a separate tiny space with a couch and TV in the outer area (I guess that turns it into a "suite"). There's no need for that. They should just make the bedroom bigger. Great location for Soi Cowboy nightlife and visiting Terminal 21. Unfortunately, I didn't try the breakfast because it was not included in the room price and seemed fairly pricey. From my one experience staying there, there are better options in that area. Although I do agree that you can't beat the location for walking to and from Soi Cowboy, I think it's so easy and cheap to grab a taxi at night to a local hotel that I don't consider that to be a big factor.

I had great time at Sofitel Sukhumvit. Booked thru Expedia had booked grand deluxe with club mellisme facilities was later upgraded to grand suite.

Rooms are large well furnished decorated. Most importantly guest friendly.

Club mellisimme has good collection of snacks I think whatever is present in voila restaurant you will get here.

From 11 to 5 you can have juice, light bakery products, fruits, coffee.

From 5 to 7 you can have cocktails, mocktails, few snacks on the house.

Except for dinner I never went out for food.

Really pleasant experience.

WiFi is strong.

Stayed here this week. Very cool little hotel about 8 minutes walk to Cowboy. The lifts situated at the back of the lobby don't require a keycard meaning you can have your squeeze come straight up to the room. I had 3 girls over and none of them ever went via the desk. I also brought 2 girls up, one at night, one in the afternoon and was never asked to register.

Breakfast was pretty poor. There's a pool on the roof but I didn't use it between weather and it being too busy when I went up.

Would Nana Hotel be a good base for a month in Bangkok or would you suggest an apart hotel situation? I was thinking of trying to work out a deal for a month paid in advance.

Are there rooms that are more quiet than others and what side of the hotel might that be?

Thanks so much.

Thanks so much.If you stay at the Nana Hotel for longer than 15 days you get a 10% room rate discount, and if you stay for 30 days or more you get a 20% room rate discount. 1490 baht becomes 1192 baht for the long term rate. No need to bargain, just confirm it when making the reservation.

For relative quiet stay request a room on a high floor. At the 1490 rate this will normally get you on the 9th or 10th floor on the non-Sukhumvit side.

I stayed here last week for 7 nights, only been around for 8 months.

Walking; 9 minutes to Soi Cowboy, 6 minutes to Thermae, 15 minutes to Nana and a short BTS (one stop) to Soi's 22, 24 and 26.

Great staff, big rooms, quiet, good laundry service, great showers / bathrooms, excellent aircon and pool on roof was big plus a courtyard bar as well.

Mainly Chinese / Japanese guests but a few Europeans as well.

Off Soi 19 about half way down, T21 is at the top, as is BTS, 711, a pub, small beer garden further down and a couple of Massage places as well.

Guest Friendly, brought several girls back and had several escorts, got a few ribbings from the friendly concierge, all in good humour, never any problems at all, a couple of the ladies used the pool as well, no issues.

Perhaps a little pricey at US $90 a night, but was a nice place to base myself.

Will definitely go back.

In my experience working for up to a month in most SE Asian countries, all hotels will negotiate a discounted rate if you ask them for it. They will also throw in some additional freebies like free laundry services (and breakfast too but only if you ask). You have to book direct through their Sales Office to get the deals.

Of course if you book through Hotels.com you get a free night for every 10 so that also works out to be a considerable discount better than 10% in many cases, and you can choose a property that is a bit better than Nana Hotel.

If you commit to a hotel for 30 consecutive days or more, legally it becomes similar to leasing, so the establishment no longer has to collect sales tax for the stay.

My pick would be the Sheraton Grande. It is a brisk 8 to 10 minute walk to Nana from the Sheraton.

For food and people watching options, Terminal 21 is across the street. You just have to cross Sukhumvit using the pedestrian bridge.

When you walk from Sheraton towards Nana, you will pass The Landmark. This Hotel is also highly rated and much closer to Nana.
I have not stayed at The Landmark, so I do not have any personal experience or recommendation.

The Weston Hotel, which is part of the Sheraton Group, is another good choice. The rooms are large, the breakfast buffet is tasty, and the Weston is signifiantly cheaper than the Sheraton across the street. The Sheraton has a nicer swimming pool.

Thanks for the information guys. Yes I was also considering the Westin as well as other SPG properties like Plaza Athenee and the W Bangkok but the reviews / ratings were not as good as Sheraton. For me I'm traveling on points so pricing isn't really a issue, its about trying to maximize the value of my points which makes Four Points not good value for me point wise. Sheraton, Westin and Athenee are the same cost in points but from what you've guys stated the Sheraton seems like the superior product because of the better view, larger room and better pool.

Hey fellow mongers,

Would appreciate if you can help me out with a peculiar hotel recommendation. Looking for a room with a large tub because I'm a large / heavy guy. Something near Nana or Cowboy or inbetween. Up to $100 per night would be my budget.

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

I usually get a corner suite at the Landmark. Approx US 150.

Can't beat the location next to Nana and the BTS and, of course, very girl friendly and great gym in building next door. Corner suite has nice views and good couch and seating area to entertain the Longtimers. Pool could use a refresh.

For Soi Cowboy, I rec the Grand Centrepoint Terminal 21. Excellent infinity pool, sauna, grounds, views of BKK, and some rooms have laundry. Sometimes there are deals for less than US 100. Good location for catching the trains up to Huay Khwang soapies as well.

Stayed here based on the recommendation in this forum. No fills hotel, near Nana BTS and the action center. No coffee in the room, but OK for a short economical stay. This is a new hotel with fresh interiors.

Looking on some websites for rooms in Bangkok and Pattaya that have refrigerators. Looking at rooms near Nana Station for Bangkok. Nice to have a refrigerator to keep a few cold drinks / water in the room.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

Phachara Suites, soi 6, very close to Nana.Thank you brother Dion, I also checked out some other hotels / apartotels with and without kitchens on Youtube and then cross checked them on some of the hotel websites.

There appears to be plenty of choices close to the center of town / action.

I will make reports after my trip and try to contribute back to this website.

Cheers!
