Just returned from a fantastic trip to Medellin. Now if I could just kick this post nasal drip I acquired on the plane home!

I have to say that learning Spanish really pays off. I have these CDs in my car that have been repeating over and over for months. Sitting in traffic has never been more productive. Being able to spend a full day with a chica and even a second date changes the game completely! My Spanish is not great but I can get by. At times, the gringo tax was in full effect, especially during my short stay at CB. But otherwise, with just a little patience and putting forth a good effort, I was shown an unaccountable amount of compassion and generosity. In general, the people are so freaking friendly it makes me sad when I realize how desperate and impatient we gringos act in spite of all the luxuries and conveniences we so blindly take for granted. I think to make a better impression while visiting their country, we just need to slow down a little. I recommend games. Cards, dice, checkers. Whatever you can think of. I found a backgammon board in my apartment! Hours of entertainment, fabulous prizes and limited demand for Spanish vocabulary! Question. Whats the best way to get to and from the major cities. Specifically to CTG from MDE? I know in Peru, plane tickets are a lot less expensive if a local resident buys them. Is this the case in Colombia as well? Post in the forum or PM me. Thanks. It's funny you say that Heat, 'cause I agree with you and it's normally the truth, however, I stumbled upon this chica I met in an obscure casa in Cali, very sweet, and to my surprise, speaks very good english.

She is very low key, humble and we've become friends, her seeing me outside the casa as friends with no money discussed, I just help her as I like.

She's definitely the excpetion, and just has a knack for languages as she learned from books and TV.

Actually is strange for me speaking english in Colombia, but she likes to practice, so with her it's english only.

Hotel Macedonia Plaza, Plaza Mayor, and Central Plaza are the same ownership. Not sure about Caravan. Cantral Plaza is the best hotel in Mayorista. But it is a little too distant to bring a girl from Mayo strip.

Walked by there a few weeks ago and looks like a total shit stop from the out side. All so walked by the Hotel Central Plaza and Al Caravan that is a very short walk past the casino and took a tour of both places. The staff seemed real cool, showed me and a friend a room at both places and they were just fine. I understand they are the same owners. They both have web sites and it was like 20 bucks a night. For the first time ever, I have to use up my vacation days (about 3-4 days). And I've decided I really want to go to Medellin.

Problem is, I'm not your typical mongerer. I'm 25, fairly good looking, and have no problems picking up women back home. Thus arises my first question. What is the average age of an individual who goes to Medellin for mongering (lets say, stays at the Mansion)?

A big issue I have is that I have NO experience with Spanish, and thus why I believe staying at the Mansion would be a good start as girls frequent the hotel.

I plan on going in mid-November. How is the action there?

Are there accessible strip clubs? What are the best areas in Medellin to find girls?

hi guys,

i'm not closed, so don't sweat it. i've just been working a little more from word of mouth and references. some guy showed up without making a reservation and that's probably what started the rumor. since i sold my house in envigado and moved to tampa, i made my place my vacationning spot. so when i go back to medellin every 3-4 months appr. and stay there 30+ days i stay at my place. so i have a room ready for me when i arrive, the street room, which some of you guys don't like anyways because of the street noise. i travel very light with a back back on spirit airlines, since i have everything i need there already. yeah, your typical walmart gringo, ha, ha.

so, no, frank's place-my place is far from closed, but there are only two rooms available now. so you can't just show up, reservations only. my watchdogs won't let anybody in without a confirmed reservation.
