Anyone fly back and forth between Medellin and Cartagena much? I see flights in a basic Google search round trips nonstops ranging from $60 on Viva Air to $100 Avianca. I'm wondering if these are prices only gotten when you book in advance or do the budget airlines like Viva Air run these all the time?

The prices are almost always that cheap. It's like an hour flight at most. I like to book in advance with avianca. Always smooth flying and luggage is included. Keep In mind the fares google flights is pulling are most likely from the Spanish website, so it can be a a little confusing if you don't understand Spanish but you should be able to figure it out.

Out of hundreds of friend requests I sent out since late 2017 around 1 in 3 have accepted. I use a fake name but my profile is a clear shot of my face and I have a half dozen selfies of me in front of famous landmarks. Verizon and Sprint phones will only work in Colombia with google-Fi because they use CDMA, those particular bands are not available in Colombia, unless you're using Google-Fi. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Metro PCS phones work in Colombia with simply changing the SIM Card. If the phone is unlocked, but it is a Verizon, Boost, or Sprint phones, they will not work, I have tried, trust me on this. The easiest way is to have a travel phone, but to each his own. Right now I own a Samsung A50 with a dual SIM card, I use it in the US under metro PCS and in Colombia under Claro. I have a friend who buys my a monthly plan for 40,000 cop the day before I arrive and as soon as I land, I turn on the claro sim card and boom, I'm up and running. The funny thing is this, I paid about $225 usd for this Samsung A50 and it has a really good camera on the phone while in Colombia earlier this year. The same phone is nearly $425 usd in the united states. If you want to minimize the amount of a travel phone, go into any pawn shop and look for a metro or unlocked Samsung J3 prime phone, they are going for about $50-$75 usd and they will do everything you need while in Medellin, a SIM card is $5,000 cop, and a monthly plan is $40,000 cop for a total of about $17 usd. So once again, the easiest way to handle the phone situation in Colombia, come to Colombia with Google Fi or have a cheap unlocked phone to insert a Colombian sim and then by a cheap monthly plan. Pollo Negro is out!

Wow, not even close to correct. Your email is only used for backup. That is the reason your contacts and other information will be restored, but only if they were previously backed up. A new phone must be registered with Whatsapp before Whatsapp will work. Whatsapp identifies a user by a username created from a phone number and stored in the Whatsapp application. That is the reason you do not need a sim card after the app is registered. Even if you change your sim card, it will not affect your Whatsapp account until you reload Whatsapp.

When I switched phones and carriers I installed WhatsApp on my new phone. Thanks to my old carrier failing to release my phone number, I ended up with a new number.

When I signed in to WhatsApp the first time I selected that I already had an account. After verifying I ended up with my old WhatsApp number on my new phone with a new number. Any time I turned on my old phone it would ask if I wanted to switch my WhatsApp back.

Now, for 14 months I've got my original WhatsApp number on a phone with a different number.

I am glad to know this, I use Verizon and they use CDMA technology which does not have carriers in every country. I used to use a "travel phone' that was a multiband and would work anywhere once a bought a SIM card in a given country. Now I have a Google Pixel phone and whenever I get ready to go out of the country I buy a SIM card from Google on their Google Fi program. Google Fi gets service in 200 hundred countries Texting is free anywhere in the world but they charge 20 cents a minute for calls (how many actual calls does anyone make) . Plus I have a phone in my hand as soon as I hit the ground. I have had banking problems and apartment problems in the past when I needed my phone as soon as I arrived. My phone can also use wifi for calls, as I think most later model phones can, and then its free. Last time I checked the Google fi SIM cards only work on Google phones though. Damn that sounded like I was schilling for google, I'm not, but it is a very handy thing when traveling) But I do have to change my phone number to a phone number I have registered with Google. But even though my number changes, everything else in my phone stays the same, I. E. My contacts will still be there, The only hassle is to let anyone that I will be contacting know what my travel number is before I leave so they know who is calling or texting. I was worried that I would have to reload all those contacts from Whatsapp, but from what you say I just have to let the people not in whatsapp no what my number will be when I am traveling.

If you have one of the Verizon Unlimited plans, you get 5 days free of international data, talk and text. After that it's $10 per day. I had no issues with my Google Pixel 2 XL and Verizon while I was there last month.

You also don't have to change your WhatsApp number when you change your SIM. I've kept the same WhatsApp across 3 different phones, 3 different SIMs and 3 different carriers.

Interesting. I am one who tries to get my requirements specified before time. However I get many chicas answering "no. You have the location correct, to better orientate yourself, go to the main entrance of the Museum, stand in front of the Museum and look towards the Metro line. There will be lots of statues there and a park. There are girls scattered around sitting in the park, on the benches, etc. The highest concentration of girls will be standing at the intersection of Carrera 52 and Calle 52 to the north side of the Museum, also there are lots of girls hanging close by to the ice cream / yogurt stand on the corner at that intersection. There are girls out early in the morning in the park directly in front of the Museum but the best times are late afternoon. And besides this area, you can go down a block to Carrea 51 which has a string of bars with lots of girls hanging out in front. I don't usually pull girls from this area. There are Vennies there, however the greatest concentration is in the area I mentioned as a lot of the Vennies stay apart from the Colombians as they have invaded their turf. Since I am one who seems to be offering 50 k more than the going rate, I agree with you that probably I am not getting a better performance paying extra.
