Santo Domingo is much bigger that Sosua, I've found that the dregs of society down here are near the tourist areas (that's where the money is). The small percentage of hard care women are in these places. The rest of the women are more towards the normal side (still easy by American standards) but less money grubbers. BTW, those of you who refer to Western women, DR is in the Western Hemisphere.

If your comment were along the lines that most women in Sosua that date gringos are putas, I would agree with that statement.

We're on the same page. I was just pointing out that your happy experiences with relatively upscale chicas is not shared by 95% of mongers on this board who gravitate to the tourist areas like bees around honey.

Live in the belly of the beast everything looks like a live night. I'm nice cool breeze no sign of rain and just enuff clouds to keep the air temperature down. I see a few regulars at a lot of new faces. The ratio at this time is about three females to one guy. The police are roaming the streets in force. Just arrived in Sosua check in hotel europe. Got my normal room $35.00. Hotels seems packed. There are a lot of dime pieces coming in and out of the front door. A lot of men seem to be happy they look as if they have been intoxicated from the fountain. I just hit surfer up hopefully I can catch up with him. I wonder what the night has in store for me.

I just love the DR. Full of entertainment. This clinic thing is becoming an epidemic. This has to be the 5th women in a months time that has told me they were in the clinic or going to the clinic. I wouldn't be surprised if other guys are getting more of the same?

Last date with an AW (American Woman) I went on was in April. It was a dinner date and the bill came out to damn near $70 dollars. When the check came she looked at me all starry-eyed like "you know the deal. " I went ahead and paid the entire bill and chalked it up to the game, plus I had no intention of calling her after that date (it was a case of "you looked hotter on the internet".

Funny thing was how during the date she talked about how on some of her previous dates with other guys the bill would come out to around $300-$400 dollars.

That is classic. At this point I only need the states for money (I guess I'm Dominican). When I go back I can't even bring myself to get a hooker. Anything decent is 100+ per hour, I can get 4 girls for that price down here. If you try and date a regular girl you need to put in more effort and a lot more money than that.

Much easier down here, even with regular girls. The longest I've waited down here was the 3rd date and I was in.

The girls you've met are obviously not the average Sosua chica, who lives from trick to trick, in a very competitive business, with no other means of support.

These latter comprise most of the young women you'll meet in Sosua, rather than the small percentage you imply.

if you encounter BS from foreign women, you are willing to take those risks. Foreign women are less likely to get half of your pension, get you kicked out of a house you are paying for, take your kids from you, get a portion of your 401 k,and more. The dating scene with western women has men at a disadvantage in terms of what it takes to get to the ultimate goal, which is to get laid.

I live among respectable middle-class Dominicans, most of them religious, and they call each other "chulo" and "chula" all the time.

So all the veterinarians, "old money" landowners, and Jehovah's Witnesses, etc, in our apartment block are really hustling putas on the side? I don't think so!

Obviously it depends on the context. If a puta's "chulo" is accepting money from her activities then you could call him a pimp. But if it was her mother accepting the money, as in a widely reported case last week, it doesn't mean that "madre" means "pimp".

And what about someone like Peter at Passions? He was a full-time pimp, but he was only a "chulo" to his wife. I have never heard him referred to as a "chulo" by anyone else.

I bet it is used a hundred times with my meaning for every once with yours.

I think I understand what you are saying. You are saying having this hobby is a welcome relief and / or alternative to dealing with the type of female bullshit that is common with western women. So you travel frequently (stay on the road) to destinations where you can enjoy this hobby.

Using the DR for example, in this hobby, guys are getting laid for less money with less hassle within less time than they would back home with their western women. Having said that, Mr E is also correct when he states "It's just a matter of what kind you are willing to put up with. ".

Most guys enjoying this hobby have discovered personally they would rather enjoy this hobby and tolerate the kind of BS they have experienced, than be some dude who got railroaded in a divorce through dealing with western women. Or some dude still playing the dating mating game of courtship and getting very little for his efforts. Moreover, merely listening to or exposing oneself to women trying to run game but not really getting anywhere, I dont consider that putting up with BS. Nobody can run from BS, or risk or gambling. It's everywhere. Were taking risks even when we arent aware we are doing it. The idea is to keep BS in it's place or at least be aware of it, without it becoming a burden or an imposition on your life or peace of mind. With anything there may be setbacks or disapointments. Maybe some regrets. But what was the cost? Did you lose your house,pension? Or did you lose 6k pesos,a cell phone,your tablet,some jewelry,cologne? Practicing prostitution with the consent of law enforcement right in front of you??? I'd say dealing with foreign women's BS in comparison to western women, is worth the risk.

BTW one of my other regulars from San Pedro who has been talking about coming for my next trip just informed me that she needs to go to the dentist because her teeth hurt. This info came from me simply asking "Como esta". They love when you ask lead in questions so they can start telling you about some problem.

Now I suppose if I were to agree for her to come, she will try to get me to give her money for the dentist. The per diem rate for her "job" in San Pedro, and whatever I would consider giving her upon her departure. She doesn't know this, but I have no interest in allowing her to come, subjecting myself to a bunch of expenses. That doesn't even include what I would have to pay to feed her, and whatever she tries to buy from the supermercado.

On the flip side. In the states, I'm sure I paid more when dealing with a chick there and didn't get nearly the same amount of enjoyment as I would with a chica from the DR. It's just that ,I know I can get a better deal close to my spot ( in the DR ) without depending on someone to come from San Pedro ( with a laundry list of expenses.) The expenses I know about, and the ones I will find out about after being with her for a few days.

If you want to say it in Haitian Creole, it would be "Sa se lavi", but if you want to say it in Spanish something like "asi es la vida" would get the job done better and people would understand you.
