I've tried getting a girl in at HI at Mumbai, but the Security stopped us at the reception and asked the lady to produce an ID. Though I told them she was my friend, the receptionists took her ID, whispered something among themselves and told me I wouldn't be allowed to take her to the room. But yeah, most of the other star hotels, I think, are safe do a deed. In my case as mentioned above, the hotel lift operated only with the room access card, so I had to come down to pick the lady up from the reception.

I have had success at other hotels in places like Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi (though got cheated 2-3 times), but it always worried me that all these hotels had installed CCTV cameras on the Hotel Corridors.
