1. The visa on arrival fee now is 2000 baht which can be paid only in Baht. If you carry only USD, you will need to exchange on airport with pretty bad rates.

2. The buses are only for Suvarnabhui airport. Airasia lands at Don Mueng and you can make your way to Mo Chit bus station to get a bus to pattaya.

3. I would suggest carry 2500 baht and rest USD. Put the USD in rooms safe and exchange only when you want. There are literally 100's of exchange counters all over Thailand.

Take sufficient cash in bhat as you need to pay 1. 2 k express on arrival visa and you need to show alteast 10 k bhat for the immigration to show you can survive for next 1 week and the taxi.

If you are travelling to Pattaya you can get direct shared busses in the second exit first floor for 250 bhat bell transport.

They will drop you to your hotel.

Remaining as per need basis draw it from ATM, inform bank before starting from India or you can increase international transactions limits online too.

You are on mongering trip don't think of 1 rs or 2 rs transactions charges be on safer side. Take 15 k to 25 k bhat in cash remaining just draw as per your need at any ATM it hardly cost your 1 k Rs.

But you will be under limits and no chance of loosing money unnecessarily.

Even after travelling to Pattaya you can set your international transaction limits online and then withdraw.

But make sure to do it when your in India its safe.

Don't carry more than 5 to 6 k bhat when you are out of hotel its safe, any amount you can get it from your room safe by travelling in bhat bus for 10 bhat from any corner.
