Before I answer your query, here is some information on why it is called Congress House.

In early 70's, Indira G (the then PM) had set up a music academy at grant road near the big office of Congress party. The Academy had members of the Agra community of singers and dancers who organised dance shows for the royals over 300 years ago. Congress House is located in one of the bylanes of Lamington Road near the Grant Road police station.

Once a beehive of India's freedom fighters, the Congress House which is an enclave of seven buildings is literally surrounded by a mujra and ***** houses today. Sangeet Academy has become synonymous to the Congress House. The political activities are non functional since long. Be careful, there are normal residents living there as well ..all of them coexist.

1. Just below the Kennedy bridge, in the bylane is CH. At the corner there is a hotel, walk on the road inside just below the bridge for 100 meters, you will find the houses on your right hand side. On your left, there's a paan shop. At the entrance, pimps and managers will invite you to come inside, upstairs to their den. If you walk straight ahead on the right corner, you'll see Queen Mary School.

2. It is very close to NL, about 5 minutes by walk. Prices are similar, but the presentation makes a difference and goes in favour of NL. There are gems in CH too. But you need to spot them. NL is more organized, while CH is raw and old fashioned. Ambience is old. Rates are similar, slightly on lower side.

3. You can walk in. No need of any SP for CH and NL also. This gems finding adventure also adds to the mongering fun. Something which I find missing in the millennials. The fun is in the journey and not just the destination.

4. Going by 6-7 pm would be fine. You get day virgin's. There are some houses there where the girls live 24 x7, and some where they visit between 6 pm to 4 am.
