Though it gets mentioned a lot, I haven't really seen any recent reports from Paradise Kawasaki. I was in Tokyo for just a few days, and visited last Saturday afternoon, around 3:00 pm in the afternoon. I was staying near the old Tokyo Tower and took the subway from Daimon Station, no train change. Google maps is amazing, and the subway so precise you can tell what train you should take just by it's arrival time. Got off at Kawasaki and probably now more than 15 minute walk to Paradise. Easy to find, big sign. I stopped at a random place and had a quick beer, and bought one at the convenience store.

Entered and there was a woman at the counter, along with a couple of guys. I would not say they were super friendly, but nice enough and spoke English. There is another soapie right next door but I didn't check them out.
