I don't see any mention of the Medellin Mansion anymore. Is it still operating? IF so, has it changed in some way? Back in the day, at least a third of the discussion on the Medellin forum was about the Mansion.

My Spanish tutor lives in Bogota and told me the story of the 4 children aged 13 to 1 that survived for 40 days in the Jungle. The baby was only 11 months old and they all had no food or water and just survived. The 11 month old is a little girl. I'm a million percent sure that she is the toughest baby in the world. I wonder what she thinks this world is? Those kids are so brave they should be offered US citizenship by default. We need people like them. The more I read about this story the more amazed I become. Supposedly a dog found the children but got lost and they are searching for the dog now / still. Once in a blue I reply only to help fellow readers from being confused or getting bad intel. You can't compare Santa Fe Bogota with Parque Lleras in El Poblado Medellin. Are you high? Those two areas shouldn't even be in the same sentence.

Santa Fe in Bogota is a dirty street, it is quite safe although it looks like it may not be. The place in Medellin it compares to is El Centro, Medellin. Now pricings will be similar and Medellin is even cheaper in the streeets. Clubs in el centro Medellin like barra ejecutiva competes with Santa's Fe's Troya / fiebre (def more in Santa Fe) with similar costs for drinks and girls.

So it's El Centro Medellin Vs Santa Fe Bogota = They will compete hard in terms of cost and street girls availability and clubs.

Gusto and other semi upscale clubs in Medellin cannot be compared to anything in Bogota, since there's no Gringo central area like El Poblado Medellin. But if you need to visit upscale clubs in Bogota, there are many and they're just spread out especially north (Chapinero, Zona G etc), where you will pay easily $150-$500 usd hourly plus club fee to take out. Way more upscale and ridiculously expensive than Medellin.

But honestly many gringos and old skool mongers prefer Bog since it's low key, rarely any gringo or weekend warriors in sight since those fools don't know how to navigate Bogota, it's a huge city, which I also like. In Bogota you have to worry less about seeing yourself in a youtube video like you will in El Poblado LOL.

Once you take away the gringo avail effect from any city, prices are similar, so no real inflation. The price diff you see is just Stupid gringos being taken advantage of by smart hawkers everywhere. That is all.

I appreciate the elaboration for the well thought out answer. As I wrote I've never been to MDE and only went to BOG 1 x so being eager for another trip I wanted to get my bearings. I've had mixed DMs and posts I read so I am appreciative, I didn't think my question was propagating anything. I avoided in BOG the upscale north spots like Lido due to some reports quoting 500-800 K rates. Plus I know I'm going to get fleeced with gringo tax. I'm MIA & ATL based where it's not hard to get $600/ HR, so I'm trying to be well under $200 factoring in travel costs / time. With the varied reports I was unsure. I'm definitely a "safe" club guy, and expected avg talent in SF but there was a good numbers of stunners that stopped me in tracks. So if the Poblados / Gustos are a clear tier higher in talent that makes me even more excited for MDE. Only thing I can do is nut up like every one else & see for myself. Again I appreciate the lay out because before my impression of Centro was that it was low quality, but if it's on equal footing as SF which exceeded my expectations.

Yes I left four days before the lockdown and returned when Colombia opened back up 8 months later. My friends here told me how horrific things where here and having to stay holed up.
