Some guys say you will not be refused. BS. I have been refused 9+ times and even more silent rejections where I can tell they do not want to go with me. I agree with you. Tip should be for service, and it is unfortunate if that is not the case. So the price is then in practice 1. 433 or 1. 633 at Emporivm now, depending on the girl, + plus whatever extra tip-on-tip you want to give.

IMO this is a bad thing, as it removes incentive for the girls to provide good service if they are now guaranteed a "tip" regardless of their service. In your case, with that one girl, I would probably have given a tip of zero. It would certainly have left a sour taste in my mouth if I had then been forced to pay her a tip of 200 k by management.

Here is a fun fact, Indonesia is quoting IDR1,500,000 for 5 years tourist evisa. That's literally $930 and if you break it down that's equivalent to applying for 33 evisa! Whomever came up with that idea. Must be on some sort of special pills.

1) Neither David, nor the mamsan I dealt with two days later, as David was not working, mentioned any tip.

No, it is not a typical case and is mandatory; no backing out. I have fucked 6 girls there and have given all 5 of them 200 K because I was super happy with the service. I do not do BBFS but was mighty pleased with what I got. The 6th girl attitude in the room and outside was not that warm; wouldn't call it cold as well but found her to be too commercial kinda chick. Just got my E-Visa in 10 min after a bit of a hiccup. If you have one of those new passport with a privacy protection film on the photo page, just know, while taking picture of it to upload, glare will distort the image quality to a degree that uploading process will reject it. Only way around is to take a black and white picture then upload unless you have access to one of those high end photo scanners but you would have to reduce the file size.

Also, just to confirm, if your country is eligible to E-visa, you will have access to e-gate at immigration. It should say at the bottom of the e-visa page.

I second that. Seems there were some questions from guys in posts from recent months about logistical items re Jakarta. My experience getting set up last week was super easy and getting into / around Jakarkta is a lot easier than some posts led me to believe.

Getting set up and settled has been covered in various ways, but I think an occasional update helps for the un / less initiated:

1. Airport immigration and customs.

*eVoa.

- account. Set up an account at the Immigration website, but note that your information doesn't all transfer directly from account to eVOA application, and application has its own required information.

- application. Get your passport, passport-sized photo, and return / onward ticket docs ready in advance and you'll save time, but system seems stable now.

- I used Onward Ticket (US $16) for uploading an eTicket reservation and it worked no problem for getting eVOA; since the eVOA allows you to use the eGate at immigration; no one asked to see my onward ticket, but I had it printed and ready in case.

- definitely get eVOA in advance, there was a LONG line of people applying for VOA at airport around midnight, must have been 60-minute wait at least for them; I walked right past them and was out through eGate in seconds.

*eCustoms. I also filled out eCustoms form before I got on my flight; scanned me straight through at airport.

2. ATM. Used the HSBC ATM for my HSBC card before immigration, easy and less than 2 $ fee.

3. sim card and phone.

- Don't know what all the earlier fuss was about this. It works exactly the same as in Bangkok, Manila, etc. , super easy to set up.

- Around 5 sim card providers just outside arrival after customs, open 24 hours, got me set up with 65 GB for $30.

- Staff set up physical sim in my own phone, no special registration needed for 30 day stay (though they had to do the IMEI registration for the sim card only).

- Works immediately and I have exactly same data / calling in Jakarta as other major SE Asian locations.

4. Grab from airport. Super easy, convenient, and good service;.

- Grab has its own special stand (past Bluebird stand) to the left a ways out of airport exit; could add the highway toll in with the credit card payment, super nice staff and driver.

5. Traffic. Not as bad as some guys say; its like other Asian cities when they were building mass transit systems.

- Air is bad; recommend buying masks.

- Grab bike is easy, fun, and saves you half the time; usually arrives within 2 minutes; but your clothes will smell of exhaust.

6. Walking. Also not as bad as some guys say (wtf dudes); just walk on the edge of the street; exploring areas and smaller streets on foot has been fun and easy, but make sure you keep eyes in all directions for traffic, which is not difficult to adjust to.

7. ISG access. Easy access, same as everywhere (but with VPN). Using hotel wifi with my regular VPN.

My flight arrived at gate at 11:50 pm and I was checked into hotel room by 1:30 am. Imo smoother than Bangkok. These are my experiences coming in end of July. I'm enjoying city so much I'm giving dick a needed rest from July in PH before fully diving into Indo snatch.

And no, I did not pay here any money, but I did book a taxi via the Grab app (I set it up in Thailand long time ago, and fortunately it also works in Indonesia.) for her to come to the hotel. When she left, I offered to do the same (bike in this case, as she was in a hurry). It was just a normal "date", except usually girls arrange their own transport rather than asking me to book / pay it for them. Not sure I've ever been asked that before, but I thought ok, I've never met a hijab girl either, so who knows?
