I have been having the same issues. I change my VPN to a different city and get the same error message. I turn off the VPN and get the message. I wait 6 hours, try again, and get the message. Its hit-or-miss.

Depends on the website. Some sites, especially banking or government servers, do not allow VPN use. Last month I sent myself a remit from my home country bank to my GC, in the normal way on the remit company site, as I have done dozens of times. This time the transfer was blocked, and a message said such as: "Your account has been locked. You must call the toll free number to unlock your account". Crap. No stated reason why. I emailed their support, and the email reply said: "You must call the number to unlock your account". More crap. I called their phone number and the agent said something like: "I see your account is locked. You are wanting your account unlocked?" Yes. "I just unlocked it. Your transfer is complete". Why was it locked? "Because you used a VPN. For your safety and your bank's safety we locked your account". I can't use my VPN? "Its not allowed. Thanks for calling today". Thanks!

Banking in the Philippines can be a double whammy. Some home banks don't accept VPNs at all and others prohibit or restrict transactions while there. It's not totally without cause as the Philippines isn't signatory to a major anti money laundering agreement so many times any transactions routed through there are treated as laundering by default. Their banks have also been used several times to hide or cash out ill gotten gains in high dollars scams.

Lifelong moderation is a PITA on this site. Many times moderated posts won't appear for several days and by then they are buried a few pages back so that it becomes difficult to follow conversations or trading info amongst several posters. There is certainly a benefit to having some members moderated but having the default being multiple day delays forever is counter productive. Some form of three strikes would be better. 1st breach of the forum rules and I get moderated for 3 months. If I'm a good boy, then I go back to real time posting. If I'm still naughty, then moderation continues for 12 months. Then the same: either return to contributing real time or lifting moderation. The result would be a much more flowing forum and save a shit tonne of work for the admins.

Mate, although Boracay isn't your typical mongering location, I wouldn't dismiss the opportunities.

You just have to take a different approach, as opposed to roaming the beach at night with the LB's.

Although the place isn't 'one of the most beautiful islands in the world' as it's often reported to be, it's an easy get-away from Manila with a flight under an hour and the beach is quite nice.

Having said that, I wouldn't be going there for ten days hoping to sniff out a 'Daffy Duck' unless you took your own talent there.

I had prior experience there. I have personally seen how AC, Cebu, and Dumaguette street scenes had died (before and after) so I was not expecting anything at all and did not really care. I figured out the easy way of resizing pics on the phone: just take a screenshot of the pic, and there you have the resized pic.

Resizing is not a problem. It is their site. Always down for maintenance, can't download pix, timed out, lost posts, postings taking up to 30 hours to appear, can't correct wrong information (known as being arguementative).

FYI Just go to the AC bus station and there will be a seat available to Baguio unless holiday season or peak times. I went last year to Baguio and been there years ago. I think all buses are direct. I took a bus from San Fernando (northwest of Baguio) to AC and it was the wrong one. Damn thing was the local one stopping everywhere. Nightmare. You may want to check on that.

I went on my third and last trip for 10 days end of March. Last time was about 5 years ago. Not much to find then and nothing now. Just wondering if anyone's done Leyte?

I'll be in Cebu for work in July and looking for new adventures close by.

Over the past few weeks in The Phils I've met a few stunners who originally came from Leyte and I've noticed there's lots of girls on Pina Love from there.

I realize you can fly into Tacloban, but I'd probably travel from the north of Cebu on the water.
