In a city with millions of people I would not say there are lots of options. The biggest problem I have with the food is the quality of the meat, sauce, and rice is all much lower than it was before. Many restaurants were disgusting or super small portions. My other post lists the good ones but just leave Pattaya. A few places you can eat for $2 but most will cost you over $10. Around $50 if you want a steak.

Pattaya doesn't have millions of people. Chon Buri Province only has 1.6 million population.

I don't compare the taste of the food I eat with what the food at a completely different restaurant tasted like to an unknown person at an unknown previous time. Call me weird, but I just go on how it tastes to me. I ate at Thai, Chinese, Indian, English, Scandinavian and Australian restaurants. A few were a bit expensive, most were $3-$5.

ENGLISH is NOT spoken by many except old women over 35.

I don't know. Except for the women working at my hotel, I didn't speak to any over 35. I also didn't attempt any literary or philosophical discussions with the various working girls. MINIMUM price for a livable hotel is $20 a night which is NOT cheap in SE Asia. MOST hotels are above $60 a night.

The room and hotel was spotless, the location was ideal for my purposes. I guess I'm lucky. I can afford to spend under $20 per night for a room without crying.
