I too experienced that in my favorite bar: The Cocktail Car (AKA: The Bus Bar). As you know I would post up there once a week. In fact, I think we missed each other there one time. I was looking forward to buying you a drink and showing how The Cmdr operates. ROTFLMAO!

I had invited a ATF and a friend. The waiter insisted that we were not drinking fast enough. But he disrespected me and spoke to ATF in Thai. ATF knows my personality and advised me to pay the bill and leave. Which I did and she explained to me what happen when we got to the next bar. I have not been back.

So, I feel your pain. I do not understand what happened that night. I had invited two friends. The place was not packed. I was known by the service personnel there. I even wrote it up in one of the Thailand threads but I cannot remember where.

In my personal opinion, there are SO many tourists that come to Thailand now, I think it has gotten to the point where there are certain demographics that are looked down upon if they do not meet the spending habits of other demographics that spend more.

Did they receive instructions from their superiors or management ? Or is it their nature that comes out in their boredom ? I've never experienced this behavior before. If bars want to drive customers away and I never go back to them, they can just keep going.
