Posts: 1633I was just ready to ask how is the situation on the ground in Pattaya? I crossed the land border at Krong Poi Pet, 5 months ago, I guess that's no longer possible. Is that affecting the mongering in Pattaya? I read it's more than a border skirmish, with 15 death and fighter jets involved.

Thanks. I think I'll do mid November. I'd like to avoid the rains as much as I can. Will there be more supply of women in November? Last time when I visited during rainy season, I did not see too many good looking women around.

Posts: 5461There is mild uncertainty in Pattaya over the border clashes. A lot of the ladies come from the affected provinces, where some areas are being evacuated. Also, the area around Trat.
Cambodians are lying low. There are more of them than most people know.

Posts: 3443I believe the father owned and ran the one on Soi 7, prior to his death. When that happened the son from the Phili came to run it for a while, I remember one evening there were problems the long time cook, got pissed and left. I got all the rumor details from a long time waitress working there.

After like two years I was notified that it was closing, moving to new location up from Big see extra, in a small mall off Pattaya Klang, for me that was a death sentence. The waitress said the rent was like 250,000 be a month the key money was like 1-2 million baht. I thought that is a lot of F tacos one got to sell!
I believe it was sold to a Thai American family because they son in particularly spoke really good English remember something they were from Texas or something! As noted the location was a death sentence Covid put it to bed sadly.

Posts: 18757I ate at the original Tequila Reef here in the Philippines yesterday. I had a taco salad. Seems they pour vegetable soup on top of their taco salads. I had never had one with green beans, potatoes, and cubed carrots before.

Is October a good time to visit pattaya for action? Is it the end of the rainy season and can we expect many more girls walking the streets? Please advise. If Oct. Is not the right time I can come in Nov too.

Posts: 3812Excellent post. Sadly most TB in Thailand and Philippines are undiagnosed and untreated resulting into a severe illness. I have lost a good friend due to undiagnosed TB until it was too late. Get tested often.

Really not much of a "conversation" LOL.

I posted this in the Cartagena forum about local prices from a Colombian review board. For reference, 4000 COP = $1. Based on recent posts girls are asking and getting 500 K COP for gringo prices. If you want to get local Thai prices, next life be reincarnated as a Thai.

Posts: 5461I used to hit the beer bars on Soi 7, and take a break in the late afternoon for a meal at Tequila Reef. The food was great, looked like Mexican food, tasted like something else.

Posts: 1633Sorry for the semantics, but other uneducated people like myself probably understood the popular meaning of the phrase.

Posts: 3443Mexican food is tough to come by here but like most things depends on what one grew up eating? Mike is good, I in the past though Tequila Reef Soi 7, was good, my first Taco was at Taco Bell, although I've been to lots of good home cooking Mexican places back home here in Pattaya, I still hit Taco Bell once a month.
