Good to see you. Japan has very cold winters and very hot summers, so the hotter the time the more night time it's going to be is my guess. I set up a blog with list of useful links and topics, some my posts some others. If you want "something really different" I recommend going to Manzoku and just telling them that. I've used them 20 years they will get you the best price and take you there. That's all they do and what the locals use, they are solid. They will straight up call each shop you want and ask if you can go in or not. The staff is on his cell and in seconds he says "We have one Japanese speaking foreigner here, can we introduce him?" Everything by the book, they are not affiliated in any way with the shops they simply get paid a referral. You literally get a cheaper rate through them. They can answer questions about every shop, about 50+ options. They knew I could speak Japanese so 80% of shops were a yes by default but the staff pointed out the posters for the few shops I couldn't get into. Everything they told me checked out and was accurate, every time. The 20% that won't let me in aren't special, it's just the shop owner's own policy. Every shop Manzoku will refer to is legit, they rely on repeat customers. That's why they're in business for decades, it is a physical shop.

Other people know a lot more about tachinbo there. I've talked to some thai women randomly in Yokohama but it's not my thing however it's clearly legit. The Okubo park ones many are Japanese but JPLove reports there are also many foreigner options too. You may know the streetwalkers in TJ well the pro is it is extremely safe here (except for the touts and scam bars) the con is the language barrier.

If a girl is just standing on the side of the street on her phone for a long time, she's probably working, waiting for a customer. You can also just go up to a girl and ask if she's playing. 4. I stayed at the granbell hotel and I was bringing girls back every night. They don't give a shit. Just make sure you register for two guests. Or simply use the side entrance, as I did. I would not recommend getting a love hotel in the area, unless you have to. They usually have crappy rooms that stink of cigarettes. And some love hotels will try to charge you extra if you bring multiple girls back. A regular hotel in Shinjuku is much better, just make sure it's inside Kabukicho, as the girls won't be willing to walk more than 10-15 minutes.

I don't recommend getting a girl's LINE and meeting them out of the club (pros and cons), but sometimes you can. The pro is it's legal and you can negotiate what you want. The rest of the entire country is super safe and cool. Guys in business suits sleeping on the ground until morning. Note that Kabukicho is a RLD, Roppongi is not. Touts are targeting "single guy looking for sex" at a RLD, not "guys with friends". Roppongi is for clubbing and there is free pussy if you have game. Like, I don't even have game and I got pussy though it took many hours. But I was 20 years younger and very randomly, some girl thinks I'm worth it (95% don't it is one of life's mysteries). Thailand is cheap. You can get a 24-hour girlfriend days and weeks if you want. Each country has it's strong point. Japan's strong points are it's fun besides the RLD, cheap compared to the US, extremely safe, service is good, and as far as Japanese-run shops go the level of service averages very high. I do recommend making it out to Yokohama Kira Kira if you have extra time, that is what good service looks like. Then you can decide maybe it's your thing and look for the more expensive shops that have younger and better girls. The bad touts are the guys in Kabukicho, mostly black Africans but also Japanese / other who will approach you and try to get you to follow them someplace else..following them might lead to you being drugged and ripped off even more badly. The Japanese touts, like I wrote in my last post, might whisper "Psst, Japanese girls, sex. " Going with them might lead to good or bad outcomes as well.

A whole separate category of people who might approach you are 1) Chinese woman who call out to you on the street (more often on the edge of Kabukicho) offering "massagee" and 2) Chinese women who offer to lead you to some other location for sex. This can happen around Kabukicho, in Shibuya, in Gotanda, and maybe other places. I did both 1) and 2) on early trips to Japan and wasn't cheated or ripped off. It's still not advisable unless you are interested in cheaper sexual services and don't care if the provider is Chinese and also don't care if the facilities are very shabby.

As for the category of "good" touts, we are talking about employees of a particular establishment who will be standing directly in front of the place and might be soliciting for customers. These people could also be described as doormen most of the time. If you are not Japanese and / or don't speak Japanese, there's a good chance these people will ignore you or say "Japanese only" if you talk to them. But maybe not. An example a "good" tout would be the dude standing outside JanJan in Sugamo. He will wave and smile and usher you inside if you catch his eye. I think these types of dudes exist outside of shops all over Japan. One of these guys invited me into a soapland in Fukuoka when I was trying to find another place. The place ended up being not that good and I shouldn't have gone there, but I didn't get ripped off. I haven't been to Yoshiwara, but these types of dudes might sometimes be standing outside their shops. They might lie to you about the girls inside but they probably won't drug you or rob you.

The black tout and dangerous bar combo is mainly a Kabukicho thing. Last time I went Kabukicho it was maybe 60-100 black touts never seen so many. Never seen nigerian touts anywhere else, the US Embassy warned specifically about Kabukicho too. In Roppongi it's not really a thing. People don't go to Roppongi for sex shops after all, they go for clubs. At clubs the security and staff at clubs were Nigerians, they are legit people and keep the bar running and safe. No problem there.

To keep it simple in one statement, do not follow black touts in Kabukicho of Shinjuku, or any other touts. Go straight to Manzoku or any shop you've researched. It is safe as long as you follow this one simple rule.

For those super curious though, in a post 20 years ago I explained following a Chinese tout and also a white tout out of curiosity. They take you to shops that suck, tourist traps. The girls suck and aren't into it, they're ugly, and I wouldn't have sex with the for free. Don't do it, it isn't fun. What can I say, I've written this warning 20 times over the last 6 months and people still see it for the first time so I bold it. Go to a Japanese run shop. That's why I keep my advice simple, I don't give advice about how to deal with things after ignoring my simple advice. Completely agree on "good" touts. I met them everywhere else in Tokyo and rest of Japan. Never had a problem. Most shops were good, of course one can suck. It is JUST Kabukicho, the US Embassy says so, new says so at least back when I went (maybe things have changed). There are normal good touts in Kabukicho too but how would you know they were Japanese or legit? Note these good touts work for the shop they stand in front of, and they are never targeting foreigners. They are making actual exceptions, meaning time of day is a factor and whatever the boss says. Language is the biggest factor for getting in. If you randomly go into Japanese shops you'll get a mix of good and bad of course. This is why I recommend very specific shops that are run properly for years and years.

Probably because there's so few tourists compared to Shinjuku. Anyone have any experience being black in Tokyo and getting service, either from a soapland or from the delivery health services? Any recommendations on providers who will see black customers? I know racism is a part of life everywhere, and that Japan can be particularly difficult. Not going to lament it, just don't want to waste time going to places or trying to order something, only to have people cancel on me once they see me. I'm an English only speaker as well. I think you'll be ok with the typical recommendations that were previously posted. The only thing stereotype they tend to worry about is size. If you're really packing, depending on how small she is, it can be intimidating.

I'll try to keep it simple. Let's warm up with something cheap and easy. In Shinjuku walk to the Manzoku shop. Ignore all the black touts in Shinjuku / Kabukicho, just walk past them. Also ignore any other touts in Kabukicho too their shops all suck. At Manzoku, look at the walls of posters of shops. Most are hostess clubs, a few are oppai pubs, a few are crazy shit. Take a few minutes, the staff might ask if you need help and you can say "I want to go LUXE but gimme a minute I want to look around" if you like. You are 100% guaranteed to get into LUXE, half the customers are English speaking foreigners and there are Japanese customers too. I personally avoid any "foreigner only" shop without careful research because it avoids most tourist traps, but I have the luxury of speaking some Japanese. Most people are of course looking at shops like THC etc..

If it's early bird (maybe 8pm?), LUXE and EVERY oppai pub is 6K yen (it's price matched) which is $38 to get 3 girls over 40 minutes and all you can drink beer. English only is okay. If you like the girl, buy her a regular drink it's not much (the default are regular drinks, you can buy expensive simp drinks but don't). They will hop on you, if you ask they will take their top off, you can kiss them or suck on their tits. If you really like a girl, pay a little more to keep her. If it's not happy hour it's 8K. Japanese trains are on-time 97%-99% of the time. Every station has a different song so you know with your eyes closed. I think the Toyoko express can do it in 32 minutes, for 300 yen or $1.92. Faster than a car. At Yokohama, you can either take a direct taxi or switch trains to go to Hinodecho. Love hotels are just short-time hotels. You rent a room for an hour, two hours, whatever you want. They don't provide girls. I didn't use any love hotels the first time I went to Japan, that was too advanced for me, but I used them a lot on later trips.

I don't have any specific recommendations for you. I haven't been to Japan in a few years. If you read my old reports from 2018/2019 trips, I mention lots of places and experiences, but I don't think most of them will be very relevant now, especially for a first time visitor. But you would get a good idea what kind of experiences someone can have after learning a little bit about how to navigate Japan's adult customs industry.

But forget about my old reports; my best advice to you is to READ lots and lots of the more recent reports on here, maybe from the past couple years or at least six months. This forum isn't so busy that it would take all that long. The more you read, the more you'll understand. You can can also research other ways, just google things and follow links and take notes. I want to add that the very first time I entered Luxe oppai pub, first customer I saw inside was black. He spoke English. Other customers were British. Eventually I noticed there were some Japanese customers. It's random but quite a mix depending on when you go. I have heard black restrictions are less common than they used to be in Japan, don't know much more though.

In Roppongi and Shibuya lots of black customers in clubs, pubs, and bars. There are a small subset of Japanese women that prefer black men, it's not a lot but once you combine that with places like Shibuya where open minded women tend to go, guys do have some success. Same way I've told the story where I picked up 3 girls in Roppongi over 6 nights (separate trips). Wouldn't have happened in other random parts of Tokyo.

An important tip I want to give you is to go to the Manzoku station. They will simply know and tell you upfront which shops you can and can't go into. It's not their decision, but they have every shop on speed dial and will just ask. In my case they said exactly "We have a Japanese speaking foreigner, what do you think?" and the answer was an immediate yes as long as they weren't full (which happens 10 pm most days or 9 pm Friday Sat for oppai pubs). They never mentioned my race to the shop, the shop never asked. Every time. I'm standing right next to him as he makes the phone call. Now granted, you might not speak any Japanese at all, so you are being blocked by that. But you can 100% get into Luxe for example since they are English friendly and I confirmed with my two eyes that all races are welcome.

It sucks, but there is a 20% versus 80% entry gap due entirely to language skill alone. A Japanese speaking black person would get into way more shops as an English speaking white guy, no contest. But I can only speak for my experience in these cities, I'm sure some countryside places are still more backwards in thinking.

It needs to be said that even my Japanese speaking Japanese American friend could not get into a few 'elite' shops. He was high level fluent but had a clear accent, and in any case never pretended to be a local. This was 20 years ago, I think things have improved a bit all around though. There are way more foreigner friendly and even English friendly shops.

You're right that impressions matter. When I was in Nagoya 20 years ago I was one of the few foreigners let into oppai pubs. But I spoke some Japanese, and I was a well-spoken well-dressed nerd so their assessment was no problem. I knew I was one of the few because most girls said I was the only foreigner they had ever seen, while girls who worked longer could recall weeks or months back when they saw another.
