Went to HA last night. Called over a cute, thin 20-something with full back and leg sleeves. They were actually well done and looked nice. Called herself Ohm. It's called Cleo's and you just walk in. Drinks are more expensive but they make a pretty good cocktail if you're looking for something more fancy. LD prices are a little more expensive and girl prices are also more expensive. I like the vibe but HA downstairs is a better value, IMO.

Went to King Club tonight, had a shitty experience. Starts out good, chatting with a girl. She asks for a drink, no problem. Says I can invite another girl if I want, ok no problem. I tell her to pick who she's comfortable with. She was ok, mid 30's and one of the better looking ones in the bar. Her friend was not. Whatever, it's all pink on the inside. Then she starts pushing the LD, getting LD without my say-so, and so on. I tell her enough, lets go upstairs. They respond with 1000 baht each, 400 for the room. Ok, no problem. Then we get to the room.

Once the shower was done, she starts going all in on the fake moaning / cumming. Girl is licking my nipples and sounding like she is riding a sybian. Fucking turn off. Then we start fucking. Her ugly friend is actually not that bad, and I enjoyed the friend for a bit. Then girl 1 spreads her legs, and as soon as I touch her the 'bad porn moaning' starts again, and she starts with the 'you come soon'. Fuck. I push her out of the way to fuck her ugly friend again, and no shit, mid-fuck she starts asking for more LD. While I'm fucking. That was the final straw for me. Completely turned off, told them I was done. Then she has the nuts to ask me 'why you no cum? LOL You can't make this shit up. I didn't even bother to get their names. There was not one girl in that bar worth going back for. On to other adventures.

Next night went to club fate just across the way. The selection wasn't great, but found a decent (6.5 ish) with a nice body. Only did one LD and she was down to sit and chat forever. Since she was so chill I rewarded her with the 3000 B double tequila shot, shirt comes off with the shot. She was quite happy with that. After some playing, she confessed that she could not do boom-boom because Aunt Flo was in town. I was skeptical, but she insisted she wanted to blow me and wants me to come back another day for boom-boom. Meh, whatever. She pulled the curtain and did an acceptable BJ. Excessive price development has been frequently discussed but the other day I got confronted with the next level rip-off: As the bars are mostly insanely loud, I wanted to go upstairs with a lady at Tomcat's but that was no longer possible for the usual 400 Tb. I was informed that I can only go upstairs after paying for three ladydrinks in addition to the kaa hong of 400 Tb. Totally outrageous. That never happened to me before, a friend of mine was asked to pay four lady drinks for that purpose in Roxy bar. They might squeeze out this money from some Korean but this policy is totally insane when the business is so slow already.

You might want to watch the video again, he explains the twist and turns. He doesn't out-right say prostitution is legal, he's basically saying it isn't prostitution when two adults agree to have sex outside of an organized business (yea, not exactly a clear picture. But it makes sense to me. As this is Thailand).

However, it figures that the Bangkok Post would not be the media outlet to accurately make it crystal clear and without a reasonable doubt that the basic act of exchanging sex for money, aka prostitution, between consenting adults is not illegal in Thailand and therefore not a crime in Thailand. That only certain "prostitution-related" factors are illegal. And the attorney does a very good job of listing several of them, most of which have also been mentioned on this site many times.

I will buy that. The reason being is that I had a dispute with a hooker a couple of years ago. We were in the bed naked getting ready to fuck and I was about to show her something on my phone. She thought I was taking pictures of her and blew up the deal. She still wanted to get paid and I told her no way.

Long story short we ended up going to the police station. I refused to give her money and she refused to drop the issue. It is fair to assume that if she was doing something illegal, she would not want the police to settle it. Also, if she was doing something illegal, the police would have locked her up for admitting to it. So the police said if we could not come to an agreement then we would have to go to court about it. I was leaving the country the next day so I had to go ahead and give her the 1000 baht for the issue to be dropped.

The policeman wanted me to hand her the 1000 baht while he took a picture. I said no fucking way; I have seen this movie too many times. I give you the 1000 baht and you give it to her! I left the police station and saw one of the prettiest chicks I have ever seen heading towards Beach Road. Pity that I had to pass her up because I had had enough of Thai hookers for one night.

I assume that Mr. E's apartment is not a hotel-like "serviced apartment", with a swimming pool, free wifi, 24h security, a restaurant, etcetera.

If you rent by the day then the lady will come clean. If you are long term and you want her to clean then it costs like 300 baht. You also get a bed cover set if you pay by the day, but not if you are long term. No pool. There is a separate owned restaurant. We used to have nightly security but that went away some years ago. The reasons I moved into here and not another place I was considering was because of the free wifi and the elevator which the other place did not have. Back then the other place was charging 600/ month for wifi.

With regard to prostitution in Thailsnd, "What consenting adults do behind closed doors is their own business" and not illegal or a crime.

That American-born then naturalized Thai citizen attorney nailed it and so did the Bangkok Post article that triggered his commentary on the topic.

Really, every reference and term he stated on the act of prostitution between consenting adults vs all the several tangential behaviors and "open and shameful" publicly observable flaunting of negotiations, peddling it without couching it behind the concept of "massage" or simply "meet ladies here" in licensed businesses, entertainment venues and so on are pretty much right there in the Thai Penal Code that has been linked and discussed here on this website many times.

I saw in a repeat viewing of the video that the article he was referring to was in the Pattaya Mail and not the Bangkok Post.

I was thrown because that attorney usually riffs on articles he has read in the Bangkok Post and there was a reference to the Bangkok Post in the comments.

Instead, time and time again the Bangkok Post has shown itself to be one of those lazy journalistic entities on this subject that hears about a group of girls being rounded up on Beach Road, calls the police station, asks the first person that picks up the phone why those girls were being rounded up, the call is transferred to the Thailand Public Relations Manager or similar, who then says, "for prostitution", and that's as far as the Bangkok Post's journalistic curiosity goes, end of report.

Today out of curiosity I walked across the street to the hotel that's actually apartments with a receptionist, and the sign says "serviced apartments", and I asked details.

They rent by the month, and the smallest one is 35 K / month and is only one room and bathroom, no kitchen, probably it was a hotel before.

I think that's kind of expensive, especially for 1 room, not on the beach, the hotel where I'm staying is cheaper, has big rooms, and probably if rented by the month is most likely to cost even less that the 800/ day that I'm paying now for a deluxe room. The girl from early morning was not lying about the 82 yo boyfriend, because in no way can she afford that. Maybe he's paying her rent, or they live together there. I still don't understand the 1 K massage at 3 am.

That is ridiculously expensive. I have never heard of one costing that much. There are tons of places like that though. If you see "apartment" then that is what it is. I live in one. You can pay 500/ day or by the week. You can also pay monthly. Or like me you can have a long term contract. Mine is a 1 year contract so I pay 4500/ month. I made my own kitchen during covid since I had a taste for stuff like grilled cheese and steak and most places were closed. The difference in "apartment" and "condo" is that condo has at least a stove and sink for cooking.

Looks to me it's just a hotel, but they have called it "serviced apartments" to make it sound more luxury.
The daily price is 1800 Baht (room only), which is OK I think for a hotel like this. But you cannot know that for sure until you've seen it, and the site doesn't mention if taxes and housekeeping are included.
For the monthly price you can get better in Pattaya, I think.
